Cold Italian sub with rosemary Parmesan chips.
    Melinda B.

Having grown up in Cary, I've had a front-row seat to everything this city has become over the last 40 years -- and Pastrami Tom's is one of its finest additions. Tucked right in the heart of downtown, this place is the real deal. The menu hits all the right notes: freshly sliced meat subs served hot or cold, juicy burgers, crisp salads, and homemade sides that taste exactly like they sound. The food is delicious, but what really sets Pastrami Tom's apart is the service. You're greeted warmly the moment you walk in and given a proper send-off on your way out -- a small touch that goes a long way. Whether you prefer dining inside or grabbing a table outside, this spot delivers every time. Pastrami Tom's is exactly the kind of place a growing city like Cary deserves.

From the minute you walk in the door, you're family. The service is above and beyond! We ordered the Beef on Weck and the Rachel. Both were fantastic! Highly recommend both. The sandwiches are pricey, but worth it.

Chicken Cutlet Classic (No tomato, No lettuce) with crispy sweet potato fries and an apple butter-based dip.... very good!

We had great counter and table service from Scott C. This is a cute sandwich shop near downtown Cary with a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is well maintained with a clean unisex restroom. The food here is really really good. All the sandwiches and sides we ordered were 100% on point and we will 100% be back to Pastrami Tom's....

Came here when they opened at 11 am. Restaurant is very clean and spacious with outside tables as well. They were out of veggie burgers so I ordered a side of potato salad and the portion was large. It was creamy and crunchy with celery with large chunks of red skinned potatoes. The sweet potato fries came out hot and were light and crispy with a delicious dipping sauce. My hubby ordered the beef on week and thoroughly enjoyed it, was tender and juicy.

Went in for a late lunch. Got the beef on weck, potato salad, and the strawberry salad. Was enough for 2 to share and take home! Sandwich was filled with meat and very tasty, Salad was large and tasty ( you can add chicken on it for an extra 3 bucks), and potato salad was decent( I thought it was a little dry but my dad liked it, to each their own). There's canned sodas, bottled sodas, and fountain sodas. The boys working were all very nice. The cashier was friendly and helpful, He also came around to drop off our food, pick up our baskets, and check on things. Next we met Tyson, he was a gracious host and we had a nice conversation. All were very nice young gentlemen! Will be back to try more options!

This is the best pastrami l've had in decades. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. I can't wait to go back and try the cheesesteak, I overheard other patrons raving about it.

    Half Rueben $10.50 with side

Stopped by after hearing about this new place. Greeted by the owner as soon as I walked in. Friendly staff, quick service. This was early Friday around 5pm. Ordered a Rueben with a side of garlic Parmesan chips. Most sandwiches come with one side and a pickle. The Rueben was ok. Not the best I've had. The slices were a bit thick and a little hard to chew. The garlic parm chips we very good. Overall, not my fav NY style deli in this area, but I will probably return to try some of the other menu items like the beef weck. The place was clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Meat was tough to chew - need to cut against the grain!

Tom and his kids are a delight - friendly, patient. We came by Pastrami Tom's three time within the last week of our 2-week visit to NC; the sandwiches are that good! Unfortunately during our last visit, whoever carved the corned beef did NOT cut against the grain and it spoiled our enjoyment of eating the sandwich. Fighting to pull away strands of meat is not pleasant compared to biting away chunks that easily fall away and seem to melt in your mouth. The deli is bright, with seating available in and outside. It can get packed, so placing your order online is recommende.

Another gem we found via Yelp. Who doesn't love a good deli? They have a great selection without being overwhelming. A great sides selection, too. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Cool little place that also has outdoor seating. Service was also good. Smiling faces!

The Chicken & Waffles was my favorite! The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffle was a sweet corn waffle. It came with these little morsels of grilled peaches and I wish there had been more of them because I could've eaten a whole bowl of them. The Peck and Plume Bowl was my least favorite dish but that's only because it was VERY tart and I wasn't expecting that. It has passion fruit, banana, blueberries, yogurt, granola, coconut flakes, and bee pollen. We also got the Eggs Benedict which came with country ham and wilted spinach on top. The ham was a bit salty but the breakfast potatoes on the side were great and the eggs were cooked perfectly jammy.

We ordered the Butrata instead....but it never came so I can't comment on it. They also didn't take it off the bill which I didn't notice until our drive home. The server was engaging and sweet. He was willing to answer questions but seemed a little weeded. Perhaps he's new. Still her was personable and kind. The drinks, a Dirty Martini and Hibiscus Tonic were fantastic. I'm on a quest to find the best Dirty Martini in the area and this is in contention. I ordered the burger and my husband got the shrimp and grits. We'd say they were "fine". Neither the meat nor shrimp were seasoned. That said they were cooked well. The grits were well done and the relish was on target. The fries were also fantastic. Overall, it was a good experience sitting on the beautiful patio with music coming into the space from the park. With a few tweaks this could get a better rating.

So we pulled off, took out the trusty Yelp app, and this place popped up. Pulling it, it was clear that they were popular and busy. We went in and there was a wait, about 15 minutes. We decided to hang around instead of worrying about "making good time" and are glad we did. Once we got a seat, we received great service. Our server always kept our drink full, and checked on us just enough. We never felt like we were searching for her. Looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that the prices were not unreasonable, even though it's a very trendy place. in fact, they had a $10ish lunch menu available with a few selections that even included a drink. I was more in a lunch mood so I went that direction, and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out hot and in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant, so this is a well oiled machine. For the price, I was pretty impressed. I would say the sandwich was about the size of your average CFA chicken sandwich, but had a bold buffalo flavor that I liked a lot. They didn't skimp on the fries, and the ranch complemented it perfectly. We finished up and our server was on top of things getting us the check, so really we still made "good time" on our drive to the coast. I would recommend Brunches to travelers and locals alike!

Ironically, I went here because I rarely get out to eat and the service has always been consistent. 1. There was no one at the cash register and an employee who was just about to go on break took my order. He was polite enough but I found out later that he put in the wrong order. 2. There were no tables that I saw that were wiped off. Some had the dishes removed but I needed to wipe off a table. 3. A cockroach scrambled across the floor near my table to the left of the coffee station. I wish I was joking, or seeing things but I wasn't the only person who saw it. One of the female employees went toward it and stepped on it but since it was headed toward my table, I moved. 4. It was really hot in there. Maybe not AC completely broken hot, but AC on the struggle bus hot. There was a large fan in the back dining room that wasn't doing much of anything except redistributing humidity. 5. I ordered an avocado toast with bacon and got delivered a grilled cheese sandwich. The server took it back but then I needed to ask for the bacon. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture because the same dish on Sunday was so elaborate and beautifully presented and the same order today was just meh. Not a good value for the price. I will say the server correcting someone else's mistake was clearly overwhelmed but doing her best. She was also the cockroach killer. I ate my lunch and read my book. My intention had been to linger a while and read but I decided to leave. The place was about 1/4 full when I left but all the tables still had crumbs, food debris and water on them made it too unpleasant to stick around. Very disappointing. I don't see myself going back any time soon. I do love their bread but I'm sure I can find someplace more pleasant or go to the downtown location instead.

Ich liebe Annelores deutsche Bäckerei!…read more I first got goodies from Annelore's booth at the State Farmer's Market in Raleigh. The Apfel (apple) turnover was delicious, as was the Heidelbeerkuchen (blueberry cake) and Zitronenschnitten (lemon bar). I saw a nice gentlemen there that day who I think may be part owner; based on what I see on their website I wonder if it was Herr Norbert. While waiting for another guy behind the counter to bag my goodies, I happened to mention (to who I think was Norbert) that I'm learning German, and he spoke some basic German to me! Which I understood - OMG, must tell my German teacher. A couple weeks later I needed to bring desserts to our monthly Book Club meeting, and Annelore's was my first thought. I decided to visit their actual store in Cary. Even though it's an hour away from home, I stopped by one day when I had to go to Raleigh for an appointment. An Annelore's employee helped me with selecting about six cake slices and 2-3 different bars, plus some German cookies. The inside of the store is very clean, and there are some places to sit if you'd like to eat there. The employees were kind and helpful (and patient, in my case, trying to decide what to buy for a Book Club group I'd never met in person). Annelore's German Bakery is a wonderful way to take care of your dessert needs and support a local business at the same time. If you need a dessert, cake, scones, or other treats for your home gathering, BBQ, church social, potluck, business lunch, or other event, I would definitely let Annelore's take care of that part for you! 10/10, highly recommend!
