The energy was incredible--definitely the kind of local spot where people come to relax and hang out like it's their second home. The drinks were fantastic, and I loved that they offered such a wide variety. They even had regular hot tea if you wanted something non-alcoholic, plus a whole range of other NA options. The space itself is amazing and surprisingly spacious, with outdoor seating as well. I didn't get to catch the live music this time, but they have it every night! I'll definitely be back :) P.S. Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, I tapped my ruby red Crocs and landed in the Red Hook waterfront on a HHH day. NY Mag offered a free 7 ounce beer of my choice. I was also going to order food. However, Truman explained that " on weekends the pop up food markets are here or patrons bring food to picnic". He suggested Red Hook Kitchenette to purchase sandwiches and bring it back and dine here. ( which I did, see separate review for RHK). I asked for suggestions on an IPA that is citrusy and he suggested the Hazy IPA Wolf in the Garden. WITG has hints of tropical fruit, stone fruit and orange peels. An IPA Fawn approved. They serve beer, cider, wine and spirits. The interior is rustic with wood tables, soft lighting and just a chill beer. The outside picnic tables face the waterfront and Lady Liberty, what a view! Sipping my beer in the sweet sunshine. I am falling in love with NY crafted beer and IPA. Strong Rope will become a Fawn fave fast. You only need 1-2 to feel relaxed. :) The beer prices are great too. The vibe here is great, with a lot of seating options and card + board games to keep you occupied. Dog friendly as well! I was able to get a bowl of water for my little one. Nice views of the water too if you prefer to sit outside. I like how it is bring your own food. I saw a small group having a little birthday party and they had pizza and a cake that they brought. I went to the Food Bazaar grocery a block or two away and got a sandwich from their deli to bring to the brewery. Next door is a cidery, I think a different owner. Outrageously expensive ($17 for a small glass of cider? lol). Stick to strong rope! They do have a cider or two on their menu normally. 2 minutes away is Steve's Key Lime Pie - recommend if you like frozen key lime pies on a stick dipped in chocolate ;)

And in addition, looking around and eavesdropping on some conversations I realized that I was surrounded by fellow beer nerds. I'm rate this on the quality of the beers…read more They are really good. Like, write home to your grandma good. In particular there is a beer called "Coquito cowboy" which tastes absolutely phenomenal. The beer was so good, I even set aside some to braise lamb with. I will be back. So not only was it delicious to drink it was also delicious to cook farm fresh meat with. Pick any beer, and you can't go wrong.

All the beer experiences on what we have had point to two of their flagship beers. The Crisp is one of these beers. It's a pilsner with a crisp, clean flavor. This also has a dry,, hoppy flavor highlights to it also. To be honest it wasn't bad but not necessarily the most memorable of pilsners. It's kind of the same story with the other beer too, an IPA the Resin also was okay but didn't really etch itself in my mind. Flavors noticeable is hoppiness, sweetness and a pine flavor. Both beers are refreshing enough but the beer tastes kind of corporate that doesn't make it's signature for uniqueness all that noticeable.

Kid friendly too. They were closing early the day we came for a private party. They had ten beers on draft. Focus is on sessionable styles. I had a Pilsner and a Blonde Ale. Both were simple. Pilsner was crisp and clean. Blonde was sessionable too with a hint of juiciness. Service was very quick and hospitable. They have four single occupancy restrooms. One was handicap accessible and had a baby changing station. Two exterior sinks for easy access.

This was quite delicious and I actually enjoyed the refreshing taste. The boyfriend had a couple beers that he enjoyed as well. They also offer boardgames for you to enjoy here. Note that they don't have food, except bags of chips. You are welcome to bring in your own food though.
