A combination of waiting too long to look for a daycare and Sofi's social problems made finding a sitter difficult even using Yelp. After having no luck with the drop off daycare centers, we finally came across Cindy's listing here and luckily she was available and more than willing to help us on short notice. Cindy's approachable demeanor took a huge load off and dissolved all of the stress that had built up. It was also was such a relief to hand our house key over to someone that seemed immediately trustworthy and professional. Sofi loved her too! When I reached out, she was extremely responsive and came to meet me and Margie to get a sense of Margie's personality as well as to see where I kept Margie's food, litter, etc... Rene was great at engaging Margie and not a single claw was seen that day. Since then, I have asked Rene to take care of Margie during the holidays and occasionally when I am out of town at the same time as my roommate. Rene sends me updates with pictures everyday and even takes care to describe Margie's mood to me that day. She makes sure I've arrived home so Margie doesn't go hungry and keeps my space very tidy--I believe I once returned home to find my room cleaner than I left it. Rene has also been able to fit me in very last minute and is extremely flexible with her hours. She has been caring for Margie for over 2 years now and I deeply appreciate how reliable and consistent she is, often going the extra mile to make sure Margie is happy and healthy. I love that I have had Rene check in on Margie for the last two Christmases and Rene not only took great care of her, but left her a Christmas present both years. Little gestures like this only add to the list of reasons that make me confident in my choice of cat sitter and I am comfortable recommending Rene to anyone looking for a competent, trustworthy, and thoughtful cat sitter!

He has been taking care of my cats since mid-2020 when I ended up taking in a stray kitten that a friend-of-friend had found. It wasn't the ideal time to take in a cat; I was a nurse working 12 + hour shifts during a pandemic. But the "cat distribution system" (and my impulsive heart) decided for me Uncle Jay has been excellent, trust worthy, communicative and thorough from the start... and those are traits that have remained steadfast over the last four years. I've used his services multiple times now for: (a) a late minute check in on my freshly spayed kitten while I had to work, (b) my twice yearly king weekend to visit my family on the East Coast, (c) longer trips that have taken me overseas, and (d) other short trips I've taken. It is clear that he understands cats & treats them well and with respect, and that they like and respect him back. I wouldn't doubt that he probably cares for my cats better than me! It is a stress relief to know that my two (yes, I got the 1st one a friend) are safe and sound while I'm away. Other pluses: His online booking portal is easy to use. We had a troubling experience boarding our dog Zazie, with Jet Dog. After successfully working with…read moreJet Dog to take our pup on weekly walks, we were excited about the prospect of them boarding her while we were away. Unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. While being boarded, our dog Zazie was bitten by another dog. We were never informed that she would be boarded with dogs she had never met, nor were we notified when the incident occurred. In fact, we only learned about the bite two full days later, and only after a wound became visibly noticeable. When we spoke with the boarder, we were told the bite did not warrant a vet visit because the wound was "nice and red and not smelly." We had to push for veterinary care ourselves. Once seen by a vet, it was clear this assessment was wrong, as the wound required cleaning and stitches. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The cone that was placed after the initial vet visit either came off or was not properly monitored, resulting in the stitches coming out. Zazie had to be taken back to the vet for a second procedure involving staples. That visit cost $280, and despite the injury and follow-up complications occurring entirely under Jet Dog's supervision, they refused to cover even a portion of the cost. Incidents can happen in group settings, but what matters is transparency, urgency, and accountability. Jet Dog failed on all three fronts:     *    No disclosure about unfamiliar dogs being boarded together     *    A two-day delay in notifying us about a serious bite incident     *    Downplaying the wound that required medical attention     *    Refusal to take responsibility for resulting veterinary expenses When you leave your pet with a boarding service, you are trusting them with your dog's safety and well-being. In our experience, that trust was not respected and we are sharing this so other pet owners can make an informed decision.

He woke me up several times that night after I brought him home. He was agitated, seeking comfort. He'd been nicked and in some spots was shaved so close the skin was exposed. When we first arrived -- before I left him to be groomed -- he responded with panic. I have felt such regret for not listening to him and the plea in his gaze not to leave him. I wonder what he sensed. I will post a photo of how he looks after an excellent grooming elsewhere, and another of how he looked when I picked him up from Spaw. I didn't post a review at the time because I felt the owner was nice and meant well -- but I can't drive past the business without a shudder.

We've recently moved to this area, and all our previous grooming experiences elsewhere have been positive. I had provided Taj with clear instructions for my dog's grooming: poodle paws, teddy-bear face, and a summer cut for his body. However, my dog came back with visible razor burns, uneven patches of fur, and nails that weren't trimmed. I was also in absolute disbelief that his face was completely shaved, contrary to our discussion. Along with the traumatic experience for our dog, Taj's interaction with my husband was less than professional. Instead of acknowledging the mistakes, Taj was defensive and lacked courtesy.
