This spot is so open, happy and fun. I love how everyone is so welcoming and friendly. This is a space that is perfect for groups; small or large. There is an area outside, an small (purely) bar area, a dueling piano area and for now, there is a temporary speak easy up on the second floor. As a vegetarian I can only atest to a few of the food items. The cauliflower po' boy is delicious and so is the vegan jambalaya. I do love the fried pickles. The drinks are varied and delicious. Wandered in for a drink during the rainstorm. This is an Irish themed restaurant and bar modeled after the New Orleans original. The bar upstairs, where we went, was very much in the style of a traditional Irish pub, with wood furniture all around. The bartender, Ellyn, was super fun and helped us to make drink choices. The wife was a little bit of a better vocalist but they were both so cute and quite talented as a pair. The bar staff was also very kind and accommodating. By nature, singalong piano bars are going to deliver a great time, and Pat O'Brien's Piano Bar and Pub at Universal CityWalk is basically the perfect mix of rowdy fun and classic New Orleans charm. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a lively, festive atmosphere, lots of warm wood tones, and that unmistakable sound of raucous pianos. The main draw here is of course the dueling pianos. The musicians are energetic, funny, and will take requests, sometimes roasting the audience in the most playful way possible. It's part performance, part interactive experience, and all-around good time. Now, the quality of the performers make a huge difference. It's a draw whether you'll luck out or get a couple of duds, but I have usually been able to make it work no matter who is playing. Drinks are strong and plentiful, and the Hurricane cocktail lives up to its legendary reputation. The menu has classic bar fare so you can make a night of it if you're hungry, but this is more of a drinking bar. It can get packed, but there are tons of tables around the pianos as well as off towards the back if you're looking for a "quieter" evening (relatively speaking). My major criticism here is that they have the dueling piano volume just way too loud. Like painfully loud. Bring earplugs or you will be in pain. I don't get why bars feel like they have to have the volume cranked up to 11 in order to bring the fun. It's the patrons who do that, and we can't stay too long unless we want our eardrums to start bleeding. Pat O'Brien's is a fun piano bar spot (I still prefer Orlando staple Howl at the Moon, but this isn't a bad choice if you're in the Universal resort area). Great vibe! Super lively. I wasn't sure if they allowed kids, so we asked at the door and the staff at the door greeted us warmly. They do allow kids which was great so we decided to have dinner there. We ordered the jambalaya and shrimp and grits plus the kids' grilled shrimp and rice that came with a side of grapes. Everything was delicious. I also tried their Bloody Mary and it was really good. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated. I went here for my aunts birthday celebration and I was surprisingly shocked that this was not an Irish pub. Lol I sat down for the first time and seen it was New Orleans style food. I atleast got to try the jambalaya for the first time ever. They made it without shrimp so I could try it. They did mess up the order once but recovered by fixing the order to chicken. The myriad of choices on City Walk can be so overwhelming. We unexpectedly visited the universal parks on prom night and found most of the eateries to be packed! Because we would have endured an extended wait in our first pick restaurant, we decided to try something new and did so happily at the Cajun themed Pat O'Briens! They were able to seat us promptly thanks in part to the large establishment. It was spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating available. And of course, dinner comes with a show here. The piano bar was great fun and the players accept requests! If you prefer a quieter meal, request to be seated outside. Once seated and enjoying the music, we were greeted by a friendly server and put in our varied order. Our table enjoyed Creole Chicken, jambalaya, and for me the Shrimp and Grits. The food really exceeded our expectations! I know that I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits plate. It was flavor packed and quite hardy. Praise was sung by the entire table and all plates were cleared. I would definitely come back to Pat O'Briens and do recommend it. I would note though that the service was a tad slow. Took a bit of time for a server to come around. Definitely a bit slower paced than some of the other city walk options but at least you have entertainment! I'd also opt for outdoor seating next time as the music was really loud and made conversation a bit difficult. We went to City Walk after a full day of moving. We wanted a laid back atmosphere so we went to Patty's. We were not disappointed they had live music (dueling pianos). It was fun. The Devore reminded me of a traditional Irish pub with a lot of tables and no booths. The servicer Sean was very attentive and made great recommendations for food because it he food is not traditional Irish. The food has a kind of Cajun style. With that being said the food was am amazing. We had the Jambalaya and the shrimp and grits. They we both not traditional but they were very good. You have to try the hurricane if you go. This is my favorite restaurant on CityWalk after a tiring day of theme park fun. The concept is a dueling piano bar with Cajun/Creole food! I recommend making a reservation on Universal's website - it's easy and this restaurant can get crowded during dinner rush! I do not recommend walking in because you might get seated on the patio, which is away from the lively piano musicians in the bar. The singers and piano players were fantastic and they were taking song requests from the crowd. My fiancé and I didn't order any drinks and opted for some yummy dinner selections instead - Mardi Gras Gumbo (bowl), Jambalaya, Bayou Blackened Catfish. My favorite out of the three was the Gumbo. Excellent flavor and big chunks of shrimp! The soup was piping hot. The catfish had a great cook and a delicious andouille cream sauce. My least favorite was actually the jambalaya. I wish it was hotter and more they were more generous with the protein. The average price of an entree is $17, which may seem steep to some reviewers but it's pretty on par with other restaurants in CityWalk. The dueling pianos are AMAZING!!!! This place definitely passed the New Orleans vibe test. We had a great time. Our server was so sweet, I can't say enough good things about her. I got a bowl of gumbo and it was spot on. The flavor was on point. My daughter got jambalaya and it had the perfect amount of spice. This is a fun place to hangout and listen to live music. Some of the musicians have been working here for over 15 years. They keep it PG before 10pm but it can get a bit more relaxed after 10pm when they stop allowing kids under 18 in. Some nights are better than others, but they have no control over what people request. It's a lot of 70s and 80s songs mainly. They will play more current songs if they can find the sheet music online. I will probably stick to ordering sparkling wine since it's from the small bottles and not free pour. The pinot grigio I ordered from the piano bar was a light pour. They have at least three bars here but I haven't walked through the entire restaurant. They have limited seating at the bar to the left when you walk in. So if you want to hang out here and watch a sporting event, get here early. They also have a drink to go window that opens onto the upper area of CityWalk. You're allowed to take drinks around CityWalk but they won't let you past the exit toward the parking area. I have noticed that they don't seem to check if you have a drink that doesn't look like alcohol. They also don't check bags again as you leave the park. read more

Pat O Briens was a fun night out . We really liked the live piano players dueling piano show. They were fun and lively and knew a lot of music. They were great pianists! We had dinner while we're were there but we were too distracted to take pictures. The food was ok, the one fun cocktail we tried was ok too. Not much alcohol but pretty much what you would expect from a tourist area for food and drink. We switched to beer and wine and stayed until the music stopped. I've never lived in NOLA, I won't claim to be a NOLA expert, but I've been there a few times and Pat O'Briens gave me the NOLA vibe! We came a bit early for our reservation, and we were immediately seated which was great. It seems like they hold tables for those that make reservations, by putting reserved signs on the tables being held, and I really appreciate when restaurants are able to provide timely accommodation to those that make reservations. I enjoyed the dueling pianos more than I thought I would. It is fun how they take requests from the audience, which makes it quite a bit more interactive, and it's a fun environment to enjoy a few drinks in, but not something that is inappropriate to bring your children to. Onto the dinner itself. Our server was good, timely, and there were no issues there. My wife daughter and I shared the Cajun Mac and Cheese and the Crawfish Étouffée, I found both to be very pleasant, they had that distinct Cajun/earthy heat, but I did not find it to be overpowering or offensive. The Mac and Cheese was creamy, the shrimp was cooked well, and I'm a sucker for Étouffée with the slight salt/spice of the andouille sausage mixed with the slightly sweet sauce. Dinner was great! For dessert, I found the bread pudding to be very enjoyable, but the beignets were a bit disappointing to me. The beignets, instead of being light and airy, they were more like a funnel cake where the consistency was more chewy in the center and they were a little more solid around the edges. It seemed as if we just couldn't experience this Pat O'Brien's and measure it against the Pat O'Brien's experience we had in New Orleans. The glasses are collectible so you can take them home. A nice touch but I really don't need more souvenir glasses. The glasses they give you are boxes and clean, so you don't have to worry about carting dirty glasses around. The Crab Beignets were awesome. There were five of them so we shared them. Fresh, piping hot and very tasty. A great starter. I must say, the Jambalaya was very good. True New Orleans. Lots of spice and a strong smoked sausage flavour. I really enjoyed it. The Chicken Sandwich was reported to be good too. It was a very large portion but was enjoyed. They lost a star because our table was on an angle so don't settle for a table against the brick wall. Stumbled upon this place because it was one of the few places that wasn't extremely packed and we were able to find a seat for dinner at the bar. They had 2 bars to choose from, we were told one had dueling pianos, so that's what we chose. I am usually not a big fan of live music, but it was super good! It wasn't too loud to the point where you can't hear/talk to the person you're with either which was nice. While we were there, they played exclusively what was requested by everyone in the dining room. The bartender had great service, and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the bayou burger, which had bacon and andouille sausage on it. It sounded a little weird, but all of the flavors came together very well and it was all cooked perfectly. It came with a side of fries which were seasoned to be a perfect amount of spicy, and they were nice and crispy! This place was a little pricey - $17 for the burger and another $17 for a drink, however, since we were in CityWalk it wasn't terrible. Plus there was free entertainment! When we stopped in on Saturday night we were seated right away and our server was friendly and attentive. We had the Crab Beignets as an appetizer and they were seriously delicious. Then there was a mixup and we had to wait about an hour for our food. Our server and the manager both came and checked on us frequently and even offered us free beignets for dessert.
