Absolutely a gem of a place. This was my first time here and it was absolutely great. The service was exceptional, they were very helpful in showing us the different tea options and being available to ask questions. We got the small order of 2 different teas that were brewed to perfection. I loved the cup options they had. Absolutely recommend and is really a great option for a sit down tea and chat.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, and most table were taken but the ambiance was still calm! We ordered the small pot of hot organic Kyoto rose (#27) for $5.50. We got to choose our cups from a shelf near the register and were poured our first cup. I'd recommend allocating at least 45 minutes to unwind, sip, and chat. Would return to try more flavors from their vast selection!

Really wonderful, cozy place! They have so many types of tea to choose from available to smell and try. It is also in such a quaint atmosphere, it was really cozy in there. I also love that you can choose your own mug to use, a fun touch and there are so many beautiful ones. I will be back!

Overall, a great experience. Good tea selection. People are pretty quiet. I like that you get to choose your own tea cup. The kettles are very cute. I'd come back.

The Path of Tea is cute and serene. The tea room is quiet with tranquil ambient music and earthy decor. When you arrive, there is a counter with samples of over 100 teas that you can smell to determine which you'd like to try! You can order a small pot or large pot which is delivered to your table after ordering. On a Saturday morning, it was at about half capacity but the other customers chatted quietly so it was still easy to focus on work or studying :)

I love this little place!! It's so peaceful and cozy inside, with lots of different types of teapots and cups and cultural artifacts. They've got over 100 different blends of tea to try! You can sniff them at the sniff bar to see which one speaks to you! I definitely spent a while there. I love smelling things, lol. The price is super reasonable as well. You can a small pot or an iced drink for $6. I got the Japanese yuzu ryo kucha, and it was delightful. I definitely I want to go back and try other teas as well.

The tea room has a wonderful subtle blend of aromas from all the brewed teas! The staff are all really friendly and helpful in helping you decide which tea to get. Echoing other reviews, they let you smell the leaves and provide as much information about the tea as possible before you decide. The teas are reasonably priced for a large pot. And you get to choose your tea cup from an eclectic array on the shelf. When I went it was a little busy, and therefore noisy, but nothing that can't be tuned out with earbuds. Overall though, the atmosphere is conducive for studying and working. I would definitely come back.

Cute little tea shop. It's not a shop where you pick out your own tea, FYI. All the tea is behind the counter and you choose from the menu. Then, they bag it for you. If you want to smell something, you can ask. I recommend looking at their menu in advance so you more or less know what you want. Personally, I think I prefer being able to walk around and choose my teas. They have a fantastic selection of teas (see menu photo). Also, their teas are all organic which is a plus. I tried two types of Rooibos -- Chai & Georgia Peach. Both are pretty good but not blends I'd return to. I would love to try some of their other teas though. They also have weekly tea tastings and gongfu tea service events (information on their website). Friendly service. Easy parking in a large lot.

You can smell every kind of tea they have!

Path of Tea is a cozy shop that I must have driven by many times before and somehow never noticed. I found the shop through Yelp and was very excited to try it out! I came by with a small group on a weekday morning to sample some teas. I wouldn't consider myself a tea connoisseur (I am more of a coffee kind of gal), but I do have an appreciation for it. The gentleman that was helping us arrived a bit late to open up the shop and I think it threw off his routine. He was rushing to set up and I definitely think he mixed up the types of tea we asked for when brewing them. He did encourage us to sample sniff many cans of tea leaves, but I was kind of underwhelmed by the flavor of the leaves once brewed. We also tried the matcha cookies, which were savory and surprisingly filling. Disappointed I didn't love this place more because I really wanted to find a great place to have a pot of hot tea + people watch!

Met up with a couple girlfriends to check out this tea place! It feels like a casual neighborhood place. Unassuming from the outside but really cool inside. I saw someone here on their laptop as well, so probably a good place to study or work. A small pot of tea (which is actually quite a lot) is very affordable at about $5-something. They have over a 100 teas! Check it out!

If you love loose leaf tea, this is definitely the place to be. The teas were reasonably priced between $5.50-$8 for a small or large pot of tea. My favorite part is you get to pick your tea cup from their red wall that it will be served in. They have tables and places to sit, sip, and chill by yourself or with friends. They have over 140 loose leaf teas to pick from. I'll definitely be back. The overall ambiance was very relaxing.

This tea is the Tumeric Spice tea. I chose it for it's anti-inflammatory benefits, and it was quite soothing!

Do they have still have lemon bars?

Do they serve golden milk tea?

Do they offer any type of food here?

They have some small cakes and things, but basically no they don't have food. They are next door to a vegetarian place called Field of Greens and they do allow you to bring food in from there.

Grinder's Coffee Bar came up and it was right across the street so I made my way over. I arrived around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. I parked in their small complimentary lot and made my way inside. Ambiance (3.5/5): Grinder's is basically two spots in one. When you walk in, there's a small counter where you place your order. And a handful of seats. From there, you wan walk into a more spacious second room that houses a CBD shop. And more seating along with the bathroom. I sat at a couch in the CBD area. While weed isn't my thing, if you're into both weed and coffee, that makes for a nice one-two punch for you. There isn't a ton of seating, less so than most coffee shops. Luckily, since it was a weekday, I didn't have any trouble. I wonder if that's different on the weekends. They also have free WiFi if you'd like to linger and work or study. Service (2.5/5): The menu is a little confusing because they have a menu on the counter and a menu on the wall with different items. I didn't see that there was a menu on the counter until I was about to place an order. They also have some beverages in a cooler that aren't on either menu. Not the best set up. Service wasn't terribly friendly either. Food (N/A): Since I just had lunch prior, no food for me. They have a small, but appetizing number of pastries and small bites for sale if you get the munchies (pun intended). Drinks (3.5/5): I'm not a coffee drinker so take this with a grain of salt. When I go to a coffee shop, I like coffee shops that still have a nice selection of teas and juices. Grinder's has a small number of teas that can be made either hot or iced. I went with one, iced, and sweetened with agave (for a surcharge). I liked it and the price was reasonable. They also had a mocktail of sorts that was available on their seasonal menu, although like most mocktails, overpriced. While not really my vibe, if you're a CBD person, Grinder's will be right up your alley. It's a unique spot and located in a great part of town.

From a chat with the barista, I learned that Duo started because the husband had a love for coffee and the wife had a passion for pilates, so they thought "why not combine the two?" The River Oaks location is the founding store and they have since expanded to a second location as well. The people who work here truly seem happy and are eager to share the stories of their founders, which makes the place even more special. During my visit, I tried the birthday cake latte, which is a seasonal drink, and the flavors were also beyond what I've tried elsewhere. I'm typically not a fan of birthday cake flavored items, but I was feeling adventurous so I told the barista to surprise me with a drink from their menu and that's the flavor they ended up picking for me. When I received the birthday cake latte, I wasn't all that excited but all prejudice fell away after the first sip! I didn't adjust any sugar or ice levels like I typically do for my drinks, yet the drink was just right! Overall, I am just amazed by the people, the vision, and the gem of a place that I sort of happened into on a random weekend. I will definitely be returning again frequently for pilates, lattes, and/or fun conversations. Pro tip: initially it looks like visitors have to use street parking, but I confirmed with the staff that the parking lot across from the coffeehouse is free to use as well. Pro tip #2: there is option to order ahead with the QR code in image attached. I have not tried, but that may help skip the lines and make it easier for drink pickup.
