I love this place, but I use it for takeout orders more than anything. I have kids and since it is mainly a bar, it isn't a place you want to bring them for a family meal. However, in the summer time, their patio is great. I'll take my kids here for the patio meals... One thing of special note: If you like patty melts - this is THE place. Damn good. I have gotten them for about a dozen people before and they all rave about them. And you gotta love that they serve Legend Larry wings. Prices are good too. read more

I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger medium and it came out damn near bloody. I didn't say anything about it, but I paid and tipped 35%. I asked for chili at about 7:45 pm and the bartender said to, "hold on" while she checked. Then she didn't say anything about it until I called her back over. I asked for a menu at 7:56 pm and she said, "the kitchen is closed at 8." I said that it wasn't 8 yet, to which she replied, "we go by the clock on the wall and the cook has had a long, busy day, he's done." Crap food with a lazy cook and bad service. read more

I really don't understand all the negative reviews of this most awesome restaurant and grill which I visited for the first time tonight! This staff was super welcoming and friendly and the food was awesome! The mahi-mahi was to die for and while I was there was a bit of a wait for the food because they were a bit backed up, it was well worth the wait! Lindsay our waitress was super friendly, efficient and helpful! There was also an older gentleman helping out and he was also super friendly and welcoming! The patio has a great atmosphere And the menu iffers some of the best food I've had in Port Washington! The grilled blackened mahi-mahi is particularly remarkable! They have all kinds of fish specials on Friday along with burgers and appetizers! Honestly, we've given this restaurant a few chances since it's so close to our home but after this last experience we will not be going back. The service usually takes a very long and the wait staff has been rude every time I've came. This last time, my boyfriend went to pick up our food order and they would not give it to him because it was under my name and not his. He proceeded to tell him everything that was on the order but for some reason he still didn't believe them and literally kicked my boyfriend out of the restaurant for "wasting their time", the order was prepaid for and they still won't issue me a refund. read more

Friday evening at 6 o'clock we had a group of 25-30 people. My grandparents and whole family come to port every year and we decided to eat at The Patio despite the terrible customer service reviews. NEVER again will we step foot in this place. The owner refused to give us an extra table when we didn't have enough room. He stated he was saving it for other paying customers. When asked why our money wasn't sufficient he flat out said "I am not giving you more room" after my cousin approached him he then said some racist comments towards our biracial children. Our money wasn't good enough because both my wife and I as Well as our cousins kids are biracial and he didn't want them in his restaurant. It's disgusting and sad that this is even an issue. It's ridiculous. I honestly dont know how they are still opened. To rate them as a 1 star is generous. They should get no star at all. read more

We didn't have a great experience here years ago, but my husband and I decided to give it another shot. Pretty much had an identical experience. We ended up being here for two hours for burgers. Service was seriously SLOW. When the food came, it was decent bar food, but nothing more. Burgers seemed premade, not worth asking by how I wanted my burger--how it comes, it comes. Hubby got fries that were good, but certainly not hot. Got cheesecake to go. Fine, but not terrific. Overall, fine, but nothing great--and be prepared to be there a LONG TIME. read more

This is a nice place. They have a large patio with ample seating and also a very large dining area which is good for crowds. The staff is friendly and the food and drinks are relatively inexpensive. Their food is ok, I've enjoyed everything I've ordered so far. However today, I went a little different route an ordered the Cajun Shrimp Wrap. It was the best thing I've had there yet! So delicious! And there was a lot of shrimp in the wrap! Definitely got your money's worth. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a casual bite to eat. Mostly burgers and sandwiches. Came in on 7/2 for Fish Fry, excellent service, and great fish and sides. We came on a Friday @5pm and got seated right away on the patio. There are lots of hater reviews but I think these are just jerks looking to scam a free meal. We have been there twice in the last 2 weeks, and great each time. This place is horrendous! The service received was by far the worst I ever experienced. My beautiful friend rented out the other room for her baby shower and Upon arrival I see the poor girl sweating, It was a humid day and the room was very stuffy due to this. Her mom asked the ladies working if there was air conditioning we could put on and according to her mom the ladies was very rude and said open a window. The windows that do open are on the very top and a ladder is needed to open them, something you don't want a customer to do since that could lead to a fall and an insurance claim. I searched the place and finally found the air, no thanks to the staff that never check up on the party. Later that day I was at the bar greeting one of my friends, the waitress working very rudely told me while huffing and puffing "can you not block this pathway?" Look I get @she was over whelmed and yes I was in the pathway, but if you can't be kind to your customers you're in the wrong business. All she had to say was excuse me can I just have you move to the side a little bit I don't want to run you over, or something like that in a kind tone. There was no excuse for her delivery. The total experience is typical of a Wisco bar and grill, an authentic experience if that's what you're looking for, and the waitstaff is personable and professional. I will not return to this place. The food isn't bad, average, but the service is terrible. We walked in and there was nobody to greet us, so we stood around waiting and still no one, so we just sat at a table. We were there relatively early and there were maybe two or three other tables of people. We waited 15 - 20 minutes before anyone even came and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. Once that finally happened, it took at least 5 minutes for two sodas to arrive. Then another 10 minutes to take our order, the place wasn't even busy! The waitress was less than friendly, not rude, but seemed like she really didn't want to be there. Granted, she may have been having a bad day, but you still have to manage to put a smile on your face. Like I said, the food was average at best, nothing exciting to report there. I have visited every establishment in the lovely city of Port Washington, WI and found the service friendly and inviting at each. Today at The Patio I had the displeasure of being "served" by two of the rudest "servers" that I have come across in many years. Other than being mostly ignored with only four to five others in the place, when I asked about the soup, on of the servers simply pointed at the white board that said the soup of the day in relatively small writing. Would have been a great chance to say "thank you for asking, it's XYZ soup and it's very good" No follow up, just a point and she was back texting someone on her cell phone. When I neared the end of my beverage, I asked for another though I was not quite done. She asked if I was trying to create more dishwashing for her by asking before my current drink was unfinished. I thought that she was joking until she actually said again that she would wait for me to finish the one I was drinking so that she could reuse the glass. At one point, after twenty minutes waiting for my order, I asked if it might be up yet? The response, "no, he will bring it out when it's ready" Then a quick puff in her e-cigarette pipe, a check of her texts and nothing nor. No follow up. The pretzel bites were like dough bites burned on one side and raw on the other. Perhaps just a bad shift. Neither server appeared to want to be there, and one was mostly complaining about how long her shift was going to be. If you are looking for rude, bordering on mean service today, then The Patio in Port Washington WI is your kinda place. read more

Do not rent the hall for a "bring in your own food" party. The owner is obviously "hands off" at this place. Worked with his employee to plan my event and was told I'd have access to the hall kitchen area with fridge and sink only to find out the day of my event that i had been "misinformed". I had brought cold food to prep and had to do it on a table in the hall and rinse my dishes in a bathroom sink! Owner actually said to me "that's the problem when you bring in food" WTF?? If i would have been told to bring my own refrigeration i would have had coolers. With no place to keep food cold I had to set up and eat immediately. I can only imagine how much longer this post would be had i had them do the food (based on the posts I've read). I would not recommend working with this owner. This place is terrible. I can assure you I will never be coming here again, and I suggest you do the same. It started out much as others have said with not being greeted or seated. We walk in, the bartender and 2 waitress who are sitting at the bar all blankly look at us. After a few seconds of this awkward stare down the bartender asks if she can help us. I said, "can we eat?" she said sure and sat us. Now the real fun begins. Our waitress was terrible. If there was a scale of bad waitress ratings, she would be below the worst one. I'm not going to call her out by name, but if anyone at The Patio cares enough to check, it was check #00253 on 4/24/15. She had no smile, no personality and appeared as if she was forced into service from the waitress slave trade. On top of that, she didn't know anything. The Patio has about 3 things on its menu. Burgers, wings, and pizza. You should pretty much be an expert at knowing that menu. Do the burgers come with fires? Simple question. One that should be known. She says "I don't know, I always have to check". Hmmm, as in you get this question often, yet still don't know? After waiting about 10 minutes for our drinks (and on a side note, this place was NOT busy) she said she dropped my straw and will be right back with another one... That took 10 more minutes. Finally we ordered our food. 2 burgers. One "Rodeo" medium well, and one "Chili" well. After what seemed like way to long to wait for a burger in a non crowded restaurant we got our food. The well chili burger was rare. Like mooing rare. We sent it back and had a new one made, which I will admit came out pretty fast. At that point I checked the Rodeo burger which did in fact look medium well. The more I ate into it though, the pinker it got. Half of it was rare. Say what you want about raw meat, it's not for me. I didn't even finish it. I couldn't. It was too disgusting. Being cooked probably wouldn't have helped however. The BBQ was like watery ketchup, rubber bacon, and greasy as can be. From what I hear about the Chili burger, it wasn't much better. So, go here, be your own judge. Just let me say I told you so. read more
