Kim, our bartender/owner, is a gem. Tuesday Karaoke was rockin and the place is full of welcoming staff and patrons. The pizza was superb.

Service was great, attentive and pleasant...reservation for 5:00 pm and we were seated right away,…read moreat 2 top in corner, we were only party in the dining room. We were told immediately upon arrival that our departure would be in 1.5 hours. Knowing this place has a long quaint history we weren't expecting fancy, it wasn't. The carpet was so old and dirty there was a solid black traffic pattern of grease to every table. Many reviews mention 'musty' but the smell was definitely mildew, read on. Upon filling our water glasses we noticed the pitcher was stained yellow from rust--not sure if the water was same color, I didn't touch it. We were offered dinner bread that was pretty good. Prime Rib was on the menu special for Thursday so we both ordered the Queen cut portion with baked potato. Dinner came with soup or salad, tossed salad was nice and homemade dressing was good. Prime Rib came out medium rare to rare as requested and was okay but a little tough. Horseradish sauce was great. Although the dinner was as expected and good enough, during the meal I became very aware of the mildew smell and the subtle taste in my food. Dinner was $112 including the tip. Note price increase not on menu but posted at each table, 12 oz Filet listed $45 actually $54! Plus there is 2% charge for credit card. Local supper club had low expectations, we were not disappointed.

Like I said before, the sandwiches arrived the size of an adult's head. Jar dropping is a fitting description of what we looked like when our server placed the sandwiches before us. The homemade bread was soft and delicious. The chicken club easily had half a pound of cooked bacon on it. Before we ever took our first bites, we knew we would need to go boxes. Wait, did I mention we had the most wonderful cheese curbs as an appetizer? Worth ordering but only if you split a sandwich!! There are a handful of booths in the front area along with seating along the bar. TVs in the main room. There is also a back room that would hold maybe another 40 people. This tavern has been in place for years under different names. I would love to hear the history. I could see a set up that would have been particularly useful for gambling & drinking during prohibition. The staff was very efficient and helpful. One person out front & one in back. Never had to wait.

My wife had a reuben burger and I had blue cheese. Both were great. We ate at the bar and split some fries. Our bartender/server was terrific. Usual small bar charm. Their was a back room which I saw when using the restroom. Expect leftovers unless you can eat 2 half pound burgers. They have a 5 1/2lb. burger in one hour challenge which I can't even comprehend trying. We will return.
