The view of the lake is the main reason you are coming here. The views of Lake Michigan are incredible with an open air deck. I opted for the chicken. BLT with chips. Good was good but the chicken was a little chewy so that brought down my rating. Service was very good and they kept filling our water and sodas before we even asked. We stopped in Port Washington on the way back to Milwaukee from Sheboygan and wanted to stop for some dinner. We were near the lakefront and found this spot was closeby and their second floor covered patio had an amazing view of the lake and harbor area. Our party of four was able to be seated straight away. Over half of the tables upstairs are bar height, so is sitting on a stool is uncomfortable for you, your options may be limited. We so enjoyed the fresh air and gorgeous views. The service was top notch as well. I started with a whiskey old fashioned made in the Wisconsin style. It was good! For my dinner, I got the chicken club with a side of onion rings. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty (topped with cheese and bacon) and the onion rings were battered served hot. It's pretty good pub grub! If you're in the area and want a spot with a view with excellent service--this place fits the bill. Get to it! read more

I wanted a burger but they don't have GF buns. I asked if the wings were boneless or bone in and were they breaded if bone in. She said they weren't breaded and they were bone in. They were pretty good, although I'm pretty sure there was a dusting of some sort on them. I ordered fries (basket is the smallest size) since it didn't look like they had a side salad available. Fries were coated. If I had known that I wouldn't have ordered them. It was pretty much bar food. Not great, but not bad. The seating was nice in the upper indoor/outdoor area. We got sat on the upstairs patio, our waitress immediately had an attitude. It was also hot and extremely humid. Everyone seated up there was trying to open the windows because of it being so hot, they have no fans either. Waitress comes in and says the boss is watching from the cameras and to close the windows..... if you're gonna micro-manage you should at least be present.... Absolutely ridiculous. Food was fine. When we got in they told us the only place to sit was the outdoor patio. We got up there and there were already about 15 people in a small 20x20ft area. A couple of people from another party tried opening the windows as it was super hot. The waitresses quickly popped in and told us the manager, who was watching offsite from the cameras, told us we weren't able to open the windows. When we asked to speak over the phone the waitresses said the manager was unwilling to take a phone call. As we had already ordered we couldn't just leave. They continued to pack more and more people into this small space, saying they didn't have enough staff to open other parts of the restaurant. Will definitely never return to this place. Nothing short of an amazing view if you sit upstairs on the back patio. I ordered an old fashion, which I later found out was made from a mix (I knew something wasn't right with it) but it was drinkable nonetheless (I mean, have you ever had an old fashion made from a mix - they asked if I wanted it sweet or sour - what???). I also had a poorboy shrimp sandwich, which is one of my all time favorite things to eat , but it was literally four little pieces of breaded fried shrimp on a major size roll (good roll tho). We ended up paying $26 plus tip for a dry fish sandwich, onion rings perhaps from the frozen food section and beers not described on the menu. We urge the owners to overhaul the menu. I've loved this place since the first time I stepped inside. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. My favorite place to sit is on the deck overlooking the harbor and iconic lighthouse. The duck wontons are delicious and the burgers are always juicy. You should definitely upgrade for the fries. They are a little thicker but cooked to perfection. Can't wait to come back! read more

I came here several times over my visit to Port Washington with my family for Christmas. We were staying at the Holiday Inn so it was a convenient walk and one of the few places open on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Service was great every visit. One evening, the homemade pizza was recommended to us from the bartender and I'm glad she did. It was delicious! (Cheese curds were also delicious, but aren't they always?) The decor in here was nice, while still keeping with a very Wisconsin bar feel. I was very impressed at the upstairs deck. The view is gorgeous and I cant wait to visit during sometime when it's not freezing to go out on it. read more

We went to Schooners for a fish fry last week. It was our first time eating there. The waiter was attentive and very friendly. The food was decent and priced reasonably. I asked our waiter for some lemon for my fish. I just about fell off my chair as he comes to the table carrying the lemon with his fingers. NO Plate or saucer! Suuuuuper disappointed in the service or really lack thereof that I received on my visit. I came in and sat at the bar and waited a bit for someone to finally come around. I was the only one at the bar. Eventually a server came to take my drink order and of course the keg blew half way in the pint. They asked a second person to go change it and then went back to serve people outside. In that time, two guys came in and sat at the bar. Server finally returned as does other server having taken care of the keg. They pour off the junk and then ask the new guys what they need and give them the beer from the same tap I asked for. Then both servers left and me still without a drink as others who came after me got theirs... eventually they came back around and reminded each other I I asked for a drink and got it to me. No sorry, no thanks for waiting, nothing. After trying to get attention for some time I finally was able to flag someone over to order food. What a huge pain in the rear. Also, while I say there they had at least three mistakes on other orders. This whole place is riding the struggle bus and that made the whole experience bad. Port side-upper seemed attentive for the most part on a late evening meal. Two days late at lunch on the streetside was not inviting. I understand that you need to take care of the "locals"; however, when people are visiting your business/city, I don't know if I would just blow them off. It seemed like, possibly the "GM" was taking shots with the regulars and 4 of us were sitting there with empty glasses. The building and ambiance is very cool. My friend Laura and I asked a local for a comfortable bar to get a burger and a beer in. We were sent to Schooners in downtown Port Washington. It was Kentucky Derby day and we had goofy hats on. We got applause when we walked in and greeted by everyone. The manager and owners introduced themselves, and some staff. The food was great and the beer cold.
