This is a great spot, especially on Tuesdays. It's game night! Was just there and the owner, Jason was calling out bingo with his bro pulling numbers. They also have a Plinko set up going (if you watch the price is right you know what I'm talking about) where you get to play to get discounts on drinks. Awesome! The bartenders are cool (props to Deanna). She makes a mean old fashioned. Interestingly enough, it comes out of a tap! Who knew? Any day is a great day to visit. I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing the shift in quality of food, but our last few visits have been a little disappointing. The bloody Mary fries were our staple, thick fries with an amazing seasoning, but now they're thin and the blend seemed off. Same with brunch. The ube pancakes are my go to, but our last visit they were so thick and gummy. The flavor was flat. It could be supply chain issues, but our last few visits have us a little concerned, and have been off enough that we aren't sure about continuing to frequent. Staff and the drinks are amazing, but with money tight, the food also has to be worth it for the price. read more

Been here a few times after the farmer's market, and I've always had an acceptable time. On a recent brunch, I split the loco moco and musubi bowl with my gf. To start, it was the kentucky derby, so we started with some mint juleps. Man, it was just straight bourbon. There wasn't any flavor to the drink and it really didn't sit well with my stomach, so it wasn't a great start. The loco moco and musubi plate were solid. Honestly, great umami flavors from the filipino / hawaiian heritages, but I felt the proportions to be small and wasn't fully satisfied at the end. At the end of a meal like that, I prefer to be completely satiated and I always kind of leave this place wanting, which is my biggest critique. The crab rangoon was solid, and probably the highlight for me. In the end, this can be a 4 star place considering the vibe. It has a cool patio and the inside bar is dope. There a few TVs to view sports. It can be a great brunch spot honestly. However, I want to bring it down a notch bc of personal food experience. I still would come back. Regarding the service, you order at the bar. Everyone is very nice. It can take a minute. If you have a squad, I would have someone on seat duty, because it can get packed. read more

Went here on Valentine's day, and totally forgot to write this review! I was surprised by the fusion Filipino tapas style dishes here. I didn't think I'd see that on the menu tbh because I came here for drinks with a one off. I really liked the lychee cold drinks, though I would pass on the star apple shots. I think the waitress probably hadn't had Star apple before (one of my favorite childhood memories), though they didn't specify tapas, the small portions of rich flavors is what leads me to this type of thinking. I probably wouldn't come here again but it was entertaining enough, and I loved the presentation of all the dishes and drinks! read more

We loved our experience here :) we came at a good time before the line got long and everything was tasty! We got the slushy flight (lemonade, Thai, mangonada, POG) and the Capitol coffee cocktail. Mangonada was my personal favorite and Thai was my husband's favorite! The katsu fries were tasty as well as the cheesecake. Would come here again for the cocktail flights :) the outside seating area is super cute!! I would love it if we could do half stars here - they are definitely higher than a 4, but just shy of a 5-star rating. My husband and I stopped in last night around 5:30. They have a wonderful outdoor space and we sat watching the dog park which was fun for us! We had a gift card that I had won at a silent auction and I am SO glad we finally used it. If we lived closer, I could see myself being a regular here! We started with drinks, my husband had the old fashioned and I had the buzzed bunny. I have to admit, it was strange for me to seeing them getting the old-fashioned out of a tap, but hubs said it was good, so who am I to judge!! The buzzed bunny was really delicious! I enjoyed it completely. We got the tempura cauliflower to start - it was great! Light breading and the sauce was yummy. I had the GOAT salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. The greens were fresh and crisp, the nuts toasty, the cheese perfection, and the dressing just tangy enough. Also, I love beets, so it was a winner! My husband got the burger without the egg (can't remember the names), and he said it was delicious!! Popped in for happy hour (3-6pm!) and it was a beautiful day so sat in the patio out front. We ordered their Shamrock Slush (seasonal slushie) and it was 12/10. A little chocolate drizzle on the glass and topped with a mint leaf and whipped cream. So so good. We ordered a few apps: spam fries (happy hour), lumpia, pork belly fries. The food was all pretty good. The spam fries were unique but not super filling. I really liked the aioli it came with. The lumpia was really good and came with this great hot honey-ish sauce. Lastly the pork belly fries - mostly fries with a sprinkle of pork belly. Wasn't super impressed with these but it did the trick for a light snack. Midtown Spirits is located across the street from the Ice Blocks Dog Park making it popular with dog owners. In addition Leash and Collar is just down the street as well. We tried the brunch menu today and the food was out in like 5 minutes, this makes me think most of the food is precooked and just warmed up. We tried the drink flight $25 unfortunately we didn't specify we wanted the brunch flight but the dinner flight is still good. The Hella Moco is the best moco value wise in town. $22 gets you 2 burger patties, 2 bacon extra crispy, 2 longanisa, 2 spam, 2 eggs, rice and delicious mushroom gravy. This is my new fav loco moco. The burger patties were well done and dry compared to 18 grams or Scotts Seafoods patties but the Hella Moco still dominated. Short Stack of Ube pancakes were freaking moist and delicious. The lox was ok not my fav but wifey liked it. We also got Lil Yelper Lucie 2 ala carte eggs for $5. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. read more

Pulled up here for the Jingle Bell Pup Crawl and honestly?? 10/10 festive chaos in the best way. The hot apple cider with their cinnamon whiskey was straight-up dynamite -- like a warm hug from Santa if Santa could also mix a drink. The Midtown Mule? We reserved for a party of 10 the day before and got patio seating for brunch. The restaurant is cute with all the halloween decor. I shared 4 entrees with 2 others; each entree did not have a large portion of food Mushroom sisig (one of their entries for vegan chef challenge): crispy and well seasoned, a decent ratio of batter to mushroom. The garlic vinegar was a nice dip. Would recommend. Pork belly sisig: crispy but the amount of meat was small. The flavor was savory and went well with lemon. The garlic butter rice was decent, but doesn't taste good when it goes cold. shrimp happens: underwhelming. Shrimp was well cooked with shell on. Batter wasn't that crispy. Overall felt more greasy than the others. ube pancakes: fluffy, not to sweet, and went well with the condensed milk. Ube flavor was not there. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered it because I hate dill juice . I didn't like the drink at all. My buddy had the white Russian and it was very good. The strawberry vodka was delicious and I bought a bottle to take home. The pineapple chili vodka was also very good if you like heat. Midtown Spirits continues to be one of our favorite brunch spots. When we have friends or family visiting from out of town this is a must stop. They have indoor and outdoor seating and you can find street parking nearby relatively easily (during peak hours you may have a to walk a bit further). You walk in and order at the bar and then find a seat. Don't forget to check out the specials and take a look at their list of infused vodka flavors. They already have a great menu of drinks, but you can change them up by using infused vodka flavors. They have delicious vodka slushies available with some rotating flavors- the POG is our favorite and is always available. They also have some cocktails on draft for quick service, but offer so many options. The longer they're around, the more options they have. They're a distillery and sell vodka in a few flavors as well as gin and rum. On top of that they sell fun items like merch, coasters, barrel aged honey, and the Preservation & Co. products like the bloody mary mix they use. Speaking of, their Bloody Mary is one of my favorites. I love ordering it with pickle AND horseradish vodka and it's super flavorful. Other favorites are the Moscow Mule with apple cinnamon vodka, and on our recent visit my husband tried it with apple cinnamon and cranberry vodka and it was so good. I also love their white linen and I love to have the bartenders surprise me with a drink they're working on. The food is also fantastic! On my recent visit they had spam pops as a special, basically spam corn dogs, and they were awesome. We also got the Loco Moco ($16) and the Hella Loco ($22) to compare the two- basically one just has ALL THE MEATS. I'd recommend getting the Hella Loco and sharing it. So good! It looks like the breakfast fries are off the menu now, but their regular fries are delicious. Our friends got the hangover burger and loved it too. this was my first time at midtown spirits and what a gem this place is! let's dive right in: FOOD 10/10. no notes. AMAZING food. we started with the crab wontons. think crab rangoons with a twist, crisped to perfection, and served with a sauce that will send your tastebuds into orbit. YUM. we got the ube pancakes & my goodness, they were incredible. the perfect most fluffy pancakes and the fresh fruit is the perfect pairing with the cakes. we tried the corned beef hash and and musubi bowls, which were both absolutely divine. DRINKS we tried the dude abides and swapped the classic vodka for their vanilla vodka and it was SO tasty. since it's a distillery, they make all their own infused alcohol; offering SO many house made options to swap/add to your cocktail! SERVICE when you walk in, you order at the bar and find your seat. Deanna was our server and was extremely kind, explaining everything to us. 10/10 service -- thanks Deanna! PARKING limited to street paid parking nearby. fortunately it's located near the ice blocks, so if you have to park far away, swing by a shop or two! This place constantly stands out as one of my most favorite places to eat and drink. The menu and drinks continue to push the boundaries of amazingness. Their menu continues having me tell EVERYONE to come here. I always get a Dudes Abide with Earl Grey vodka which I guarantee will become a staple in your life once you try it. I usually also get a Bloody Mary since it's practically their signature cocktail here in Sacramento. The food contsntly baffles me on how good it can get. They always have some phenomenal standards on the menu but they also record the menu quite often and it never disappoints. Best French fries with their Bloody Mary mix, best Hella Loco Moco and best SHRIMP!! There is a new Shrimp dish that should have a Michelin star just on its own. The parking is a bit chaotic and the location is not convenient. The service was excellent though, which made up for the parking. I got the Ube Pancakes and was surprised that there was no syrup, just caramel sauce. There also were not many coconut flakes or berries. Overall the flavor was fine but very dry and I probably wouldn't order again, unless I was getting it as a side to split along with something else. The person at the counter was super friendly and talked to us about the different types of Slushies that they offered. The ube pancakes were smaller than I expected but they were still fluffy and tasty! The loco moco was perfectly beefy and the gravy was one of my best gravies I've tried. This most recent time I've come in, I was happy to see that they added more Filipino dishes to the late night menu, like the pork adobo. The adobo was savory, sour, garlicky, and salty, but in a good way! I did have to ask for extra rice because the sauce was a bit too much lol For the infused spirits, I've tried a variety such as horseradish, pickle, habanero, and so many more. I had reached out to the restaurant and made a reservation the week prior. Everything was set when we arrived. I didn't get pictures of everything, but got to taste almost all the dishes ordered. Everything was delicious!!! I ordered the Pumpkin Espresso Martini- and the Hawaiian POG, a little brain freeze, but we all came back for more.. Loved my Pork Sisig with a sunny side up egg, just like my mom used to make. Hubby got the Loco Moco, again tons of flavor. And I ordered Corned Beef Lumpia and Chicken Lumpia.. 2 years later, still 5 stars. This is a regular spot for me, at least once a month! What I love most about Midtown Spirits is that there are no sacrifices made, the entire experience is enjoyable. The bartenders are always super friendly and attentive, willing to entertain my questions about new drinks (and old drinks) anytime. The food is SO GOOD. It's fresh, and they offer vegetarian options. The tempura cauliflower with lemon juice is a staple for me. The cocktails! I've been here many times in many situations - with my family and young son, meeting girlfriends, first-time meets with new friends, even a work meeting. Every single time the cocktails have been SPOT ON. They are perfectly balanced and never watered down. Even the slushies! I will only order alcoholic slushies from Midtown, they hold their shape and still give you a good little buzz. I also love that they keep a Rolodex of cocktail recipes. They have a good handful of seasonal drinks, but can usually make you one that's not on the menu. One of my FAVORITES is the Mike Thai. Its to die for, and they can make it whether it's on the menu or not! A few other lovables - White Linen, Strawberry Fields, and my other go-to the Dude's Abide. We wanted to like this place so much. It was definitely a vibe from the minute you walk in. It seemed perfect for a sunday brunch. Drinks- bloody mary (which was oddly sweet) and the Fig and bubbles (prosecco cocktail) which was well balanced. Food - We ordered the calamari appetizer that came out looking like fish sticks. Then we got our meals. First up was the cornbeef hash that was basic and did not stand out from any other cornbeef dish we have had in downtown. The dish itself did not have a Midtown Spirits twist imo. Then the real letdown came with the pork sigig meal, the overeasy egg on top had more raw egg whites then anyone should eat, when we asked to get it recooked so the white part was done they just brought it back flipped over so now the egg whites were all over the rice. Once again we asked for it to be recooked and even the waitress agreed that it did not look right and asked the kitchen to completely remake it. The waitress was nice and brought us a a shot while we waited, however the dish really should have been compt at that point. Overall would probably not return, but you never know....everyone deserves a 2nd chance read more

I've been to Midtown Spirits twice now. The first was on a hotter-than-you-know-what summer day when one of their boozy slushies really hit the spot. It was an ube slushy, in fact, and was the perfect cocktail to enjoy after lunch nearby with some coworkers. In fact, I spent months thinking about that ube slushy, so I was more than thrilled to find myself at a nearby farmer's market on my most recent trip to Sacramento - and I had JUST enough time to pop in to enjoy its purply goodness before I had to head to the airport. Alas, the ube slushy is no more. The server reported that they had discontinued it, as they didn't feel it was very popular - although, she noted that MANY people had come in to order it and missed it very much. At least I wasn't alone in my disappointment. I settled on a POG smoothie, which was definitely not as good (or as pretty) as the ube, but was tasty nonetheless. I like a sweet slushy, and this one was semi-sweet. I drank about half then headed for the airport. While I was there, it was brunch time, and people were getting some seriously delish-looking eats (and bloody marys too); so I will have to plan on a return trip to Midtown on my next trip to the area, to enjoy some brunch and, maybe-just-maybe, the return of the ube smoothie too? read more

We grabbed some drinks here during their Halloween specials. We got the Bag o' blood which was basically a vodka punch. It was a generous portion! I basically got two drinks out of it. Fun concept! Visiting cousins in the area and the they decided to take me here for lunch. Parking can be difficult, street parking only. Not too busy when we walked in. They have seating indoor and a nice patio built outdoor. We opted for indoor. Place looks more like a bar, have a wide variety of liquor. Also looks like they have distillery tanks seen from the dining room. Pretty awesome. Servers were friendly. Interesting you have to order at the bar, no one told us until we ask if anyone was going to take our order. Also, you have to get your own water, located near the front entrance. Food was good. I had the ube pancakes, which was flaky and the ube flavor came thought, nicely done. In addition, I had the midtown plate. It was good, but portions are too small. They have heaters in the winter too! Their drinks are incredibly unique and fun but their brunch offerings are also really excellent. Generally, I would say this a good place for groups and a fun time. It's a couple steps above bar food and has a fun Filipino flair. Ube is very present across their food and drinks. Their Hella Loco is want you want when you're hungover or just want a salty, satisfying meal. The ube Pancakes are very cute and instagrammable but aren't that strong in ube flavor. The crab wontons were as good as you would find them anywhere. I would highly recommend the mangonada slushy if you like those flavors, the ubelada was a little too alcoholic for my taste. I love that they have so many unique drink offerings but I was a little turned off to know that most of their drinks are pre-mixed and simply poured out when you order them. A great time saver, but I'm not sure the quality and taste could match a made-to-order cocktail. And still, I keep coming back.
