The staff is super friendly and personable. They say hi and welcome you, which made me feel very safe and happy to be there. The men's locker room and showers are do for an upgrade and the water in the shower was freezing, or as my friend says, invigorating! I waited a bit for it to warm up with no luck. Just jumped in and jumped out as fast as possible. The pool was safe, clean, and a great place to get your swim on.

When I got to the facility, they were just as nice and amazing people in person. When I went, it was about a month before Halloween and they had it decorated for Halloween and the fall holidays in general, which was very fun to see. I had asked about a changing table since I have a small child and sadly they do not have a changing table, not their idea as they wanted a changing table when they remodeled the changing rooms but the city said no. (city of Bellflower if you see this, give them a changing table. In both men and women's! It is very much a necessity!!!) So even though it was possible for me to change my young child on the countertop they had I also felt very unsafe changing my wiggly child there because I was unable to strap him down. I could have changed him in a stall but no mother will want to change their child's diaper on the floor unless they know it was recently cleaned which I am sure no place has time to do constantly. (AGAIN BELLFLOWER A NECESSITY!) Outside that my son had a great time playing in the water. It was his first time in a pool and it was great. I would say I wish the water was heated for him but it isn't terrible for adults. Looking forward to going back again to play in the water.

Staff is open to listening and finding options to target and stretch weaken muscles that works well for you. There are two indoor pools that are heated. Members who visit are very nice and friendly. It's mainly for rehab exercise when I visit there. Not that much lane swimming. This location is an asset to the community. It also could use help with donations to improve the facility like better storage lockers and improving showers and restrooms.

My daughter plays basketball here, and the coaches are very focused on teaching fundamentals, making sure everyone gets playing time, and maintaining good sportsmanship. There's no added cost above the membership to play youth basketball, and you can play year-round. My daughter also takes swim lessons here, and after trying two other swim schools, she is finally learning to swim! There is something about the method that is working, and she has progressed very quickly in swim classes. They are very reasonably priced, especially compared to the surrounding pools, and you can take lessons year round, and indoors, so you don't have to worry about it being too sunny or too cold. My daughter also likes the Lego and art classes, and every time she's in a class, my husband and I can go work out in the gym or go swimming. It's helped us get in shape, too! We are also taking advantage of both Camp Whittle in Big Bear and the YMCA day camp at this location. Last, but not least, the staff has been really nice and helpful. We joined off a referral and since then, several of my daughter's classmates have also joined. I highly recommend checking out this YMCA! Your membership grants you entry into all the other ones around, too!
