I didn't have that dread. I called and talked to Rich (the owner) and made an appointment. I was actually excited. Then the day came, I brought in my vehicle. Spoke to Rich. And left my baby in his hands. A few hours later I received a call telling me what they found and what was needed for repair. He gave me a cost and I was actually happy. It was a reasonable cost. By the end of the day they were still working on it and needed to kept it overnight. I got my vehicle back and she was purring back to health. Rich showed me the parts they took out and explained what they did and how they tested it to make sure it was working right. First time in a long time I felt good about a shop. When I got to my wheels, I used a sponge and car soap. I see a black oily substance and scratches on the center area of one wheel. I inspected the last 3 and find all the same marks. I called Hanlon's and they told me to send photos. I did and had to call back over 30 minutes later to get a response. I was told by Rob, "the manager", that he would get back to me on the following Monday. Of course, he didn't and I had to call back. He told me he would get back to me the next day. Tuesday, 3 days after the initial call, I am given the "he's on lunch" excuse for the second time. I called again and I'm out on hold for 13 minutes and 22 seconds. Rob proceeds to say it wasn't their fault according to an online service "specialist". I then told him I'm coming in. As I drive in, I felt the hostility of 3 of his workers surrounding my truck, probably trying to justify their work was good and it wasn't them. Rob used a flashlight and inspected a couple of the wheels and proceeded to deny it. He showed me a paper of an email of someone else's wheel that was scratched and said "see, this is how our machine would've scratched them". If you're the only shop to touch my BRAND NEW $2000 WHEELS, and there's scratches on all 4 wheels in consistent locations, how can you deny my claim? Three out of 4 boxes were sealed. Long story and you've probably moved on from my review already, but think twice before going to Hanlon's. Rob has my number and he has the opportunity to correct his mistake. Terrible Service - They Destroyed My Tire and Lied About It…read more I got a nail in my tire with only minor air leakage, so I brought my car to to Hanlon's Tire Service expecting a simple fix. Instead, they completely destroyed my tire during the repair process, leaving a massive hole--about 7 inches long. To make matters worse, they tried to lie and blame it on a "manufacturer defect." My car is only a year old, and the tires were practically new, so that excuse was both ridiculous and dishonest. Because of their incompetence, I had to hire a tow truck to take my car to a Mercedes service center. There, I had to pay nearly $600 for a brand-new tire. After thoroughly inspecting the damaged tire, the Mercedes technicians confirmed there was absolutely no manufacturer defect--the previous repair shop had simply ruined it. Despite all this, Hanlon's Tire Service refused to take responsibility or reimburse me for the damage they caused. They promised the owner would contact me, but he never did. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Their lack of professionalism, dishonesty, and refusal to take accountability is beyond frustrating. We have a handful of trucks in our fleet, and they can always be counted on to give good service and honest advice. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they are very good at keeping our trucks on the road and diagnosing challenging issues. And in the case of the CNG vehicles, one of very few shops in the Bay that will work on these.

As someone who extensively reads through reviews and is selective about what services I pay for, I can absolutely 100% recommend Heavenly Auto Care. On the phone, I spoke with Hermes who is a genuinely nice, honest person and very knowledgeable and professional. I explained to him that I previously brought my car to the dealer due to getting a dashboard alert for a brake system malfunction. Per the dealer, I was told I needed to replace the master cyclinder and get a brake fluid flush. The dealer's quoted repair estimate was ~$1,746. They also recommended a few routine maintenance things (i.e., replacing the front/rear wipers and the cabin/engine air filters). If I were to have gone through the dealer, for parts and labor, it would've cost ~$307! Hermes took the time to explain to me in detail the possible causes for my car's brake issue (it was very interesting and informative) and the break down of the costs. The quote he gave me for the brakes was MORE THAN HALF the price of the price estimate I got from the dealer! Hermes took the time to look up my car, its specifications to get more accurate quotes for parts, etc.; and shared lots of helpful tips to save money on my car. He effectively communicated with me by calling and updating me about when to expect the ordered parts and when they had arrived at the shop. I also appreciated the flexibility allowed in me choosing when I could bring my car in. I dropped by to get a quote for some preventative maintenance that I was getting done on my Honda Odyssey EXL minivan. I had printed out the things I wanted done mainly because I had just acquired the vehicle several months earlier and in reviewing its history of maintenance by the previous owners I saw there were some things that needed to be done that had never been done. So I made a list of having the timing belt replace the serpentine belt replace the water pump replaced the rollers and tensioners for both the serpentine belt and the timing belts replaced. So when I dropped in with the list they very nicely offered to give me the cost and contact me with the total. I explained to them that I was retired on social security so I really did need to know what the out the door amount would be for just having those specific things replaced. Not too long later that day I got a text as I had requested of the complete total out the door and it was quite reasonable. Anyway a few weeks later I made the appointment for the preventative maintenance just the week before when I was going to bring it by. The service was excellent and I will tell you one of the most wonderful things about this place is you step inside their repair facility and it's like stepping into the family owned repair garages that I knew when I was a kid and a young fellow.
