Terrible experience. Called to see if they had a vehicle I was looking at still available. Was told yes it was on the lot. I arrived at the time I told them I would be there and the car was NOT on the lot. An employee had taken the vehicle home. The sales team frantically called the employee to bring it back so I could look at it. I waited another 30 minutes for the car to be brought back to the property. I was then told that they would not honor the price that was online if I did not finance through them, and that it would be more than what was listed, which I have never heard of and there was no notation of that anywhere online. I test drove the car and that was that. Left the property and will never entice buying from their dealership. Also, as everyone knows negotiating is part of the car buying process and the salesman I worked with said no, they do not take any money off of their cars! So keep that in mind. They're not willing to work with people and their sales department is rude and incompetent. read more

The new Passat I purchased two years ago (24K miles), has been awesome... I used the dealer for most maintenance and they were okay, but nothing special. The car is fun to drive & handles like a sports car. With all the service I paid for I go for a sticker this week & got rejected! Within minutes the service person was all set to sell me two new tires for over $350, which I declined. Why you might ask? I've never had a any car with only 24k on a set of tires that needed to be replaced. The middle of both tires was 'like new' with both shoulders (outside edges) of both tires showing wear, which is unusual. Car&Driver has good things to say about Hankook, "...most new tires on the market today will last about 60,000 miles." LOOK UP YOUR OWN RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE Found on two different car forums: Recommended Passat VW Tire Pressure: Front 36 PSI / Rear 44 PSI Low pressure wears shoulders; not center tread! I went to a local garage near my home & they passed the inspection with a warning that my tires must have been underinflated for some time, causing the shoulders to wear much sooner than they should. The Hankook tires had been underinflated long enough that the shoulders were unduly worn. The under-inflation was done either at the factory or at the dealer (maybe in order to sell more tires). With all my maintenance visits the dealer neglected to inform me the tire pressure wasn't correct, nor that the tires were showing under inflation symptoms. Frustrating! read more

I was looking to trade in my jeep gladiator for an atlas. I went in on a Saturday and the service department looked at my jeep highlighting some issues with it, the sales team, then wrote me up an offer, reflecting the work that needed to be done on the jeep, I called them on Monday Justin, putting a deposit on the atlas and treating in the jeep, essentially accepting their offer. I was told on the phone that I could come in the following day and sign the paperwork and take home my new car. When I got there on Tuesday, I was told that there was too much work that needed to be done on my jeep and that they no longercould accept my Jeep as a trade-in. Not only did I take time off of work to come in for my car, but I was promised things that were not received. I do not recommend this place!!!! Stay away!!!! read more

Was not offered to swap plates with a vehicle that had a year left "due to Covid". I give this location 2 stars because the initial service was great but of course it's going to be when the salesperson (Jake) knows you're 95% going to purchase that day. When we showed up to look at a specific car it was presented being used the night before by the manager and had dog hair everywhere, leather seats dirty and button down shirts hanging in the back. Poor form but brushed it off. I had asked for all weather mats as a courtesy for the awful presentation and Jake had responded no problem at all. The day of pickup they made my husband pay for the inspection sticker to make up for the all weather mats "being free" with a half tank of gas and no washer fluid. I thought this location being a smaller owned business would be better at customer service but it seems the way they cut corners has lost them a future customer. When I called to let Jake know that these things were unacceptable he scoffed with no apology. Nonetheless we won't be repeat customers and hopefully it was just due to poor judgement. read more

I was impressed with the initial level of service on top of the selection of both new and used VW vehicles at Patrick Motors. Even though there are a 45-minute drive from Providence, I am happy to buy a car from these guys. We've been looking for a certified pre-owned vehicle for months, and after having considered, looked at or driven nearly every car on the planet, have finally settled on a VW Tiguan (finally). We went to a few other dealerships in the area, and none of them had the level of professionalism or candor these guys did. While they had several Tiguans on the lot, they didn't have the one we, in a perfect world, wanted. So rather than try to sell us one of the half-dozen they had on the lot, they jumped on the computer to let us know what they could get in. I mean, really - that alone was impressive. Rather than just sell us something, they wanted to find us exactly what we wanted. No other dealership had offered to do this, so right then and there they had me. Their prices are fair, and in some cases a bit lower than the standard pricing. Their service packages are great, and the look and feel of the dealership was clean and professional, if a bit disorganized. My one recommendation is this: make sure the car is in perfect condition before you take it home, before you hand over the money and before you sign anything. We purchased our Tiguan before they had completed the detailing, and once we got it home things started to go awry as they hadn't done a 100% perfect job. This is the second time we have done service here. One was for a part under warranty. The Vehicle was less than a month old. It took three hours to do this repair. No communication with why it took so long. They just didn't seem to care. Today went in for an oil change and a tire to be replaced. Appointment was @ 7:45. I was there until 10:15 for an oil change and a tire replacement. This has got to be one of the worst places to get services. They have no regard for your time. We will not be returning here for service. I will say purchasing our vehicle through Justin was one of the easiest transactions we have ever done. Dealership eager to get you to sign for a sale, but should you need to cancel a purchased insurance policy, cannot even respond in several weeks from finance department, and after an excuse after weeks later, still no form/action after a month! Ian's customer service has to be the worst experience I have had at any dealership, mainly afterwards (since they took my money/sale finance already) but even with mistakes during signing that had to drive back (3 hours roundtrip) to resign paperwork. Look to another dealership or at the least or request to work with someone else (if possible as seems he is only Finance person). Still waiting for a request of carfax of car i traded in, so makes me think I was lied to since cannot provide me the carfax which they said/showed me had an issue which caused my value to be reduced. Terrible experience. First tried to tell me that the online list price was incorrect (shame on me for going through with the sale after that red flag). Found out after signing that if I re-financed somewhere, I would need to forfeit $1,000.00 online discount...not a huge deal (about 1 point) but just deceptive and annoying. They had no interest in providing service after purchase (especially work requested under the wheel and tire warranty that cost me an additional $900). I eventually began taking the car to Colonial VW in Westborough, it was like night and day between the two. Finally, refused to answer any e-mails or calls about refunding the balance of the unused warranty after my car was declared a total loss. Bottom line: in an industry where the bar is set incredibly low, these guys couldn't reach it if they jumped out of their shoes. Buy elsewhere and, if you insist on a VW, go to Colonial. read more

Was going to give this place 1 star based on the first visit. The second visit which happened to be the next day, was 100% better. I had a blown fuse and needed to have a recall taken care of and is the nearest VW dealership. The first day, one of the service agents wasn't very helpful. The VW's don't have fuse panel diagrams on the panel door or in the owners manual so you have no choice but to seek help from a VW dealership. I just needed to know the amp and placement for a blown fuse. When I returned the next day, another service agent assisted me and the agent from the day before seemed to be in a better mood. read more

I had heard good things, so when my transmission light came on, I decided to set up an appointment to go to Patrick Volkswagon rather than Colonial Volkswagon in Westboro. Upon booking my appointment, I had to wait several days to get in for an appointment. I understand that's mostly out of their control, but not something I had ever experienced at another dealership. I decided to wait it out rather than choose another location. The DAY before my appointment, after being without a car for several days already, I received a call not only cancelling my appointment for the next day, but stating they could not get me in until March 14. The customer service representative was nice enough, but didn't seem to care about the major inconvenience. In fact, she actually argued with me when I stated that with the amount of time between booking my appointment, and my actual appointment and the phone call, the business could have informed me ahead of time rather than leaving me back at square one, as apparently they had known about the need to cancel appointments in advance. Disappointing experience, and I hope nobody else ends up in this position! read more

Very disappointed. During covid, traded my Tiguan, for one seen on Truecar. Basically, it was stripped down, no carpeted floor mats, no privacy screen for the back trunk area, scratches from front to back, no emergency kit, and when I tried to look up something in the owners manual, it was all in Spanish! I think, if they could have kept the hub caps, they would have!! Now, trying to trade it in, they don't want the trade, because, my loan, appears to be more than the car is worth!! Surprise! Surprise! Even after I put down $5,000. Down on this stupid car! Best advice, go someplace else for a used car! I wonder, what Volkswagon of America Corp, would think of their sales practices! Sales person was nice but manager was horrible. They tried to get us to use their financing at 10% interest rate saying that "even if your credit score is good(high 700's), it's your first car purchase. " We showed him a pre-approval from our bank at 3.9% . He said it's only a pre-approval/quote and that the bank will most likely give a higher rate once an application is completed. We got the bank on phone and he was wrong. Then he said they do not accept outside financing. I doubted it and he changed his answer to "I will speak to my supervisor and he will probably approve it but there will be a retainer fee." We wanted to leave and then they changed your mind to "OK we will match your bank's rate." Then they insisted on selling us their insurance or "include" it in the monthly payments. Oh, and he actually said " You drove all the way here for an overpriced car" He did not give a penny of a discount on top of trying to sell us other products (insurance and financing). He also joked about not understanding what his sales person is saying most of the time. (Note sales person has an accent) I sort of called him out, then he awkwardly said.." It's the mask." Recently bought a pre-owned Audi A5 from Patrick VW. This was the second car I've bought in 2 weeks, which gives me an easy means of comparison. The first car I bought was a new Pilot from Balise Honda in Warwick. The Balise experience was one of the worst I've ever had, which every cliche of car dealer misconduct came into play. As a comparison, my experience with Patrick VW was one of the best (if not the best) in my 30+ years of buying cars. John O'brian was fantastic and I highly recommend working with him if you have a chance. He was easy going, let us take out the Audi without any pressure, and we were able to make a very reasonable deal on the car in less than 30 min after we sat with him. Service department used to be professional and accountable. After spending almost $1,000 on routine maintenance, the technicians overlook fluids to be topped off and I had to come back to the dealer. Although the service tech agreed it should have been done when any service is performed, it was blamed on how the work orders were "put-it" the system that there was an oversight. Don't worry, after spending $1,000 last week, I only had to pay $20 for a fluid top off.... I Don't think everything should be free, I just want some appreciation for continually bringing my business to Patrick Volkswagen. if patrick volkswagen only knew how much of an inconvenience for people it is to have their cars serviced, they'd understand why people stop going to Patrick. after constantly dealing with these nuisances. Two years ago we purchased an Atlas with an additional tire warranty for $575. The warranty specifically states that any repairs must occur at Patrick VW Auburn. I have a gouge in my wheel and we called to use the warranty we purchased. For the past several weeks we have been given the run around by Service and the General Manager, who told us to contact the third party tire company ourselves. This third party company is in Tyngsboro, TWO HOURS AWAY and they want to keep our Atlas for 5 days to replace the wheel! This is completely unreasonable and against the warranty stipulations. While they advertise that "there's a Patrick on every site," NO ONE will give us his contact info! Bottom line: Patrick VW refuses to honor the warranty that their sales dept. sold us. This is bad business practice and feels like fraud. read more

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. After I purchased a 2016 VW TDI Golf Wagon, they need to "do somethings" to it in the shop. Then when I went to my mechanic, whom I trust with everything, it turns out the tires were completely bald and wouldn't pass inspection, so I had to put new tires on a 1-week old car. I wrote repeatedly to the salesperson, who - after courting me and being very attentive during the purchase process - just never wrote back. I think they also put used, old, worn windshield wipers on the front and the back of the car, which I also had to immediately replace. The car is a diesel, so I had to drive back there from Boston to have them retrofit the gas tank opening. Why they didn't do that when they were unscrupulously swapping out bald tires is beyond me. And the insert fell out the next day, so it wasn't put in properly. The bottom line is that I got a fair price and was treated with respect, but its the little things that matter, and selling a car that doesn't pass inspection due to wipers and tires, when they are a licensed VW dealership and could have gotten these things at a much lower price than I had to pay was very disappointing, as was my having to waste a day driving all the way to Auburn for a faulty gas tank insert was annoying. I'm glad they aren't my regular mechanic. They put me on their mailing list and I keep getting notifications about their great tire sale! No thanks. read more

As many others have said (wish I had read before purchase), though Patrick offered a great deal and offered awesome customer service BEFORE I agreed to purchase a buy a new vehicle, the purchase and post purchase process and customer service was less than stellar to say the least! When I went to pick the car up, the paperwork upon pick-up "mistakenly" had prices far higher than we agreed to (thankfully I closely inspected before signing). They apologized for their "error" and I let it go. But then. . . . . .After driving off with the car, it took 5 days for them to send registration transfer paperwork to my insurance company (last business day to legally transfer registration with the holiday weekend coming up) and they only started the paper work due to multiple phone calls, emails, and voicemails (many of which were ignored) on my part. Though the calls started at 9am on day 4, registration was not received until mid day on day 5. On day 5 I also learned that they had not refunded me money owed, and again, only did so due to me persistence and incessant calls and emails. Love the car, got a great deal, but beware. read more
