After spending $1,000 I was assured that DMV would pass my car because of the amount of money I spent and it failed for mechanical issues, not safety issues. After months of texts and calls to them, then an irate text because then I got a ticket for the inspection in OCTOBER, they told me they spent too many hours on the phone with DMV, 80+ hours, blah blah blah, and they were done. So I call DMV myself and within 1/2 hour on the phone, my job (which was really their job) was done. DMV had to contact them because the receipt they gave me was not written up properly according to DMV. Needless to say, Rich was accurate with what he said about DMV passing it, but it had to be reinspected within a month, from May to October didn't qualify!!! DMV had them redo the inspection and lo and behold, it's taken care of. They cannot honestly tell me they spend that many hours with DMV yet I accomplished all, the call, emailing DMV, everything, in 30 minutes!! As far as I'm concerned, they got their $1,000 and left me out to dry, having to do their job for them!!! I'd rather walk then to have my car repaired by them again. I hate nothing more than an untrustworthy liar and that's what they are. So if you're looking for a reliable mechanic... KEEP LOOKING!!!! If you're looking to get screwed, Rich and Shawn are your men and best of luck to you, you'll need it! *Please note... I made the mistake of taking my Toyota here for a loose splash shield (at most a 300 job and that is being generous). Rather than simply fix the shield, they took apart my bumper and headlights without my permission- they later claim this was necessary to "figure out what was wrong"- such that the car was no longer drivable (and thus stuck at the shop) and then proceeded to quote me over 3000 a few days later just to "put the car back together" since they said they couldn't put the car back together properly without replacing all these parts that were apparently now broken including the bumper and headlights (even though I had photo evidence that the bumper and headlights were completely fine before taking it in to them, photos which they initially were not aware of). Every time I tried to ask for photos so they could point out what exactly was broken or a more detailed breakdown of the cost, the owner Joe would reply something vague like "its not something you can see from photos anyways" or "you wouldn't understand the cost breakdown" and just start rattling off a bunch of jargon over the phone like I wouldn't understand any of it anyway. Very frustrating. After all this frustration for what should've been a simple fix, I told them I just wanted my car back and to please not to do anything in terms of repairs as I wanted to take my car elsewhere. They said that it would cost me $600 if I wanted to get my car back due to the time they spent to take apart the car and put it back together...keep in mind this is without replacing any parts or doing anything whatsoever useful other than remove the splash shield (not even to put a new one on)! So $600 for them to do absolutely nothing and return my car in a worse state than when I brought it in. Somewhere early in our interactions, Joe also implicitly suggested I commit insurance fraud and tell the insurance company I ran over a curb to see if they would cover the cost of full repairs. I told them I didn't even have any collision coverage when this happened so they were out of luck there. Overall VERY dishonest and icky interactions with the owner who was obviously hoping to make a quick buck by taking advantage of someone who he thought didn't know any better rather than trying to establish a loyal customer base. In the end, he (Joe) along with Mike the other manager did agree to lower the cost of putting my bumper back on, but ONLY if I paid it completely in cash. He was adamant about this and would not accept any other form of payment even though they clearly had a card reader in the shop. He got angry and defensive when confronted about this being shady. In the end I paid the 450 cash just to get the car back in my possession but it's honestly in much worse shape than when I took it in. The only useful thing they did was rip off the splash shield completely so it was no longer hanging close to the ground. It is now in my trunk and I still have to take my car somewhere else to have it replaced. There was yellow markup paint left all over the side of my vehicle when they returned it, there were three new deep scratches on the bumper that were not there when I took it in (looks like somebody keyed it; unclear if careless or intentional), the headlight was cracked, and the bumper was now completely misaligned after they decided to take it apart without my permission. I see why they insisted on cash only now as they probably did not want to risk a legal/card dispute from their shoddy work. Hope pocketing the 450 was worth it; very short sighted IMO at the cost of their reputation. TLDR: learned my mistake; do not bring your car to them. I am taking the 450 loss and all the damages they caused because 1. not worth the mental energy to deal further with these guys and 2. I do not want to risk more damage/bamboozling in their hands. I will be bringing my car to another shop to hopefully undo some of the damage they did. please be more careful and learn from my mistake. Wish it weren't so hard to find a reputable mechanic around here!!

Tom the owner checked it out and said I needed it to be rebuilt. He said the car was in great condition or he would not recommend that, so I had it done. I am not only extremely happy with the work they did, but I can't say enough about Tom and his crew. Before I brought my car to him, Tom spoke to me and my husband many times, and we were so impressed that we decided to go though with his recommendation. I am so happy I did. The car is running great and it's like new. Tom really cares about his customers and is the most honest person in the business we have ever met. He won't do the job if he thinks it's not worth it. It took us a while to find someone we could trust, and we finally found someone who recommended them. Now that we found this place, we would recommend them to anyone who needs a transmission.

The morning after I picked it up I found fluid in my driveway not a few drops but about a 1/2 a qt. Enough to run a couple of feet down my driveway. Turns out it's fluid from my transfer case. Their first response was, it's probably fluid on the rail. ??? Their next response was, yeah those seals sometimes leak when we change the transmission. they should have offered to change the seals. At that point, I would have paid for it. I also would have paid for the Freon that I had to add so myself. $10 bucks for a can of 134a. At Walmart . It went back to them twice and $5400 later and I still have a leaky transfer case. I drove by today and I realized that I forgot to leave a review.
