We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!

If you would get off your privilege high horse, you would see the situation for what it really is and not for what's convenient to you." I had been nothing but respectful, patient, and fair. This response came after the shop had already received thousands of dollars through my payments and warranty claims. Before service, I provided a detailed one-page summary, reproduction instructions, records, and videos. My liftgate would not open automatically, but it still closed correctly. The shop diagnosed failed struts and charged $1,681.77, stating that replacement would fix the problem. It did not. Afterward, the liftgate also stopped closing automatically and had to be pushed down manually, leaving it worse than before. At the first pickup, the vehicle's locking system was also worse. Before service, the vehicle could at least lock. Afterward, the passenger doors were not functioning properly and the entire vehicle would not lock. I returned three times, made nearly five trips to and from the shop, spent over $200 on Ubers, and waited there for hours. During the second visit, the mechanic and I reproduced the same originally reported problems within seconds using the instructions I had already provided. Because the first warranty claim had been closed, I was charged another $500 deductible. The front-door now creaks when closing. The owner acknowledged the noise in person, and promised to fix it but never did. The owner eventually ended the repair relationship and refused a refund for the unsuccessful liftgate repair. My complaint was about unresolved repairs and documented expenses - not anything personal. Responding with insults and a demand for more money was completely unacceptable. Based on the unresolved work, repeated inconvenience, refusal to refund the unsuccessful repair, and the owner's response, I cannot recommend this shop.

It sat in that exact spot for over two weeks before I finally received a quote, which I felt was unreasonably high for the work. I understand that shops have minimum charges, but waiting more than two weeks for a quote on a cam bearing replacement--only to receive a price that high--was frustrating. When I picked the block up, it had developed some surface rust because it hadn't been moved the entire time it was there. That said, the staff was friendly and professional throughout the process. Because of that, I'd be willing to give them another chance if I needed different work in the future. However, my first experience ended up being a frustrating waste of time.

They did a courtesy inspection of my car and gave me a full report of recommended or "required soon" services and repairs. He explained each item to me and also explained they have a really good warranty on repairs. What I really appreciated was that he did not make me feel pressured to schedule an appointment for anything and seemed to respect my time. He also did not seem to try to "scare" me into getting services ASAP and seemed honest. The oil change was a little more expensive than my usual place but I will gladly return here based on their customer service alone.

After a little help we got it back to our house and diagnosed the issue as our alternator as the battery is only 5mo old. Looking for local service stations opening up early on 2-Jan, I found this Christian Brothers 2mi from our house. They said they will diagnose the issue but said they did have alternators for my car on site in case that was the issue. I jumped my car again and drove it down to the shop. The service manager was attentive and friendly and gave me an assurance my car would be ready by the end the day. He even gave me a shuttle ride back to my house without any delay. The shop contacted me around noon with the issues and estimates. They confirmed the alternator died, but also said my water pump was broken and not holding any liquid and it was getting water into the alternator. In the text message they provided images of all damaged parts which was nice. The overall price seemed reasonable but I did have to talk them into using a cheaper alternator that saved me $200. I got my car back mid-afternoon and one week later it's still driving great. My first experience with Christian Brothers Automotive was definitely positive and I will like use them again in the future!
