We met a couple here for lunch at their suggestion. It was our first time there. Apparently there was a refurbishment that added seating and parking, so that isn't good thing. The service was excellent throughout. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which is always a risk as my wife makes killer slow cooker Italian spaghetti sauce and meatballs. But a while back I ordered some at Olive Garden and thought it was good, so why not? Well, I wasn't so lucky here. The sauce was quite skimpy (perhaps they want you to pay for extra sauce?) and the meatballs were too firm and rather tame. I am sure it is a matter of taste, so if you like your meatballs similar to the kind you buy frozen at the supermarket, then go for it. I like them more tender and with more flavor. My wife got the meatball hoagie and similarly missed her slow-cooked variety. I guess if we go back we could try one of their signature pizzas or otherwise stay clear of the meatballs. read more

Pat's Pizza is a cozy, restaurant that gives me neighborhood diner vibes in all the right ways. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and they treated me like family. Inside you'll find a mix of wooden tables and booths. There's plenty of space for small groups and larger parties. The beer tap list is small, but they've got the standard line-up and plenty of bottle/can options. The menu is expansive and features a lot of great options. Of course, I went with pizza. This time, I opted for the four-cheese pizza. The pizza had a soft, thin base with chees right up to the crust. I'm a sucker for cheese that starts to caramelize on the crust due to the heat of the pan. The cheese blend is consistent and delicious, plus, there was a lot of it! They didn't skimp on the cheese. The sauce was very flavorful and slightly chunky in a good way. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Pat's Pizza and look forward to returning soon. read more

On our way to Bangor we stopped here to pick up two pizzas. We sat in our car and ate them. We were a little further away that we thought when we called so they were room temperature. Not their fault. They were still really good. One cheeseburger and one mushroom. Highly recommended. read more

Each time we've been here the service has been indifferent. None of the wait staff is friendly, it's purely transactional. The last visit we were seated, but then left without menus for 10 minutes. Turns out the waitress who seated us was the one who was waiting on us, so no idea why it took so long to get menus. It wasn't busy. The food is fairly priced but steer clear of the desserts, which are over-priced and taste like they come out of a box. Not a fan of the pizza, which is a cracker crust with no substance. Subs are good-sized. Food is mediocre at best. After a few visits and consistently meh food, not somewhere I'd go back to. read more

We ordered a Cheeseburger pizza, which was unique and pretty delicious. Tasted like a Big Mac. The crust was delicious. I wish I could give this place 5 stars for the pizza, but the rest of the meal was just awful. Like really awful. I can't speak to the service or atmosphere, as we had our food delivered...that said, it was hot and super fast! Three stars for the other items...ordered poutine, Shepherd's pie, and a Reuben. The "poutine" was soggy fries smothered in what tasted like that powdered brown gravy you get in packages, and some melted cheese. No curds, (weird)...it was just like some sort or processed cheese. The shepherds pie was just awful. It was cooked burger, mixed with a bit of frozen corn, topped with completely plain, unseasoned mashed potatoes, then covered in the same cheese that was on the poutine. So, so, so bland. Don't do it! It's not Shepherd's pie. The Reuben was okay, but the bread was like an inch thick per slice...and kind of gummy? Chewy... don't know exactly how to explain the texture... There wasn't a lot of sauerkraut or dressing, so it was hard to eat. Luckily, I had some sauerkraut and dressing in my fridge, so I doctored it up. So...overall...We would definitely try other pizzas, the one we ordered was great...but the rest of the menu seems like an afterthought or something that would appeal to college kids looking to soak up some drunk at midnight. I hate to be so harsh on a local business... but do yourself a favor a stick to the pizza. read more

This pizza is awesome. They make the best Canadian bacon here (well, I don't know if they actually make it there, but it ends up on the pizza). If they had delivered, I'd have put this place on speed dial. The one in Orono is the original, and it's just as good. But this Pat's takes a backseat to no Pat's. read more

Okay so I never thought I'd give four stars to a pizza place! But Pat's has seriously good pizza! It's such a refreshing change from the typical big pizza chains! My all time favorite is their greek pizza which has canadian bacon, olives and feta cheese and is just delicious. I often pick one up if I have an unexpected guest and we want a relaxed supper at home. *Please note: Pat's Pizza doesn't deliver! Your choices are to eat in or take out. If you call in an order, your pizza will almost always be ready within 20 minutes or less so it is an extremely speedy way to get supper. read more

I'm baffled by the other ratings. Truly. Maybe it's because there's not much to choose from in a smaller area? I have a hard time believing that, regardless. I was told by my boyfriend that people had always raved about this place, so we went to pick some up. Cheese pizza, specifically. It was -awful-. Even my 7 year old, who will eat the frozen cardboard pizza from the grocery store frozen section would barely eat one piece. The pizza itself was thin (not a deal breaker, except it tasted like cardboard), the cheese was bland, and the sauce was sweet and tasted a bit odd. Altogether it was a total waste of money. Picked up the worst pizza ever here last week. Big fan of Pat's but this was disgusting. Barely cooked, crust on bottom white, processed chicken meat tasted so bad, had to take it off. When in town and lobster was out of season, I had to get pizza. The place was just how I thought it would be, an old bar with a very friendly atmosphere, great for families. The pizza was pretty good bar pie, with a thinner crust. The salad was a typical pizza place salad. read more

It depends which one you go to as to how much you'll enjoy it. My favorite Pats is in Hampden, it's VERY clean and the pizza is cooked perfectly every time. The busiest one is in Orono and sometimes the pizza is slightly under cooked (it's like they speed up the cooking process when it's crowded). Still good though! The only one I avoid is in Lincoln. I was served flat coke and asked for it to be taken away and they left it on my bill and found the the owner wanted to argue over it. What a joke! Haven't been back ... read more

NOT SO GOOD The only reason I go to Pat's in Hampden sometimes is because they are across the street from my house. Most of the time they screw up my order by ether giving something other then what I ask for or in most cases the pizza is way under cooked even when I ask for it to be well done (as all other place's always cooks pizzas), even when I see with my own two eyes that they did put my pizza back in the oven to cook for extra time. One time it was so bad after I got home it was like soap. It went into the trash where much of there food belongs. But even worse when I go back for more food (out of desperation) and gracefully explain my experiences and concerns, it always go on deaf ears and I get charged the same with no apologies. I do sometime get OK eatable food about 40% of the time. It dose not compare to the Orono restaurant. That place rocks! read more
