Absolutely loved Patterson Cellars!!! The vibe was fun and friendly. Live music and a pizza place next door. The staff was knowledgeable about their wines, and about Woodinville in general. The DUEANNI ( red blend) was by far my favorite. For some reason, the people were a lot friendlier in Woodinville than Seattle. Could have been the wine, but it was great to see. Who doesn't love this place!!! I've been to both of their locations several times. My first time was the warehouse district and we had a blast tasting temparnillos there. So much so that we went back! Even got some of my friends to join their wine club! Woooot! This one is more ideal and prettier spot for me since some of the wineries I'm a member at is just across the street/ round about. Parking however here is almost nonexistent! One can circle the lot oh so many times! Or just park down to the hill at the massive lot and walk up! Love~ the outdoor and indoor seating. Well outdoor more so than indoor though. It is so pretty on sunny days! The patio is cover so you can still sit outside on a rainy day. And they will be nice enough to bring you your tasting out! You can do a tasting for $10- you get about 5-7 I believe! Chardonnay is a nice and dry one followed by reds! I love the rose so I usually just go for the bottle of that or their tempernillos! Like other spots, your tasting fee is waved with a $25 bottle purchase. Try a tasting and share a bottle with someone...or yourself :) They have live music on weekends! Wooot! And they are the one of the fews that open late! Seating can be tough at times! But that pizzeria next door will serve you at your wine seat! Just go order and watch the food appear! The atmosphere and location of the tasting room is great and close to other Woodinville restaurants and wineries. They have varied seating options both inside as out with table tops for two or larger groups up to 8. Both of the last two times we have come into this tasting room we have been ignored and avoided due to how close to closing time the tasting room was, even though the servers continued to serve other patrons who were there before us. The reaction I received from the server was "what time is it?" when there was over 30 minutes left before closing. From the time we sat down to the time we decided to leave, we had waited a total of 15 minutes before being helped. We decided to leave when the server had walked out of the room when she had previously said she'd come over to help us, 5 minutes prior. I routinely find that we are judged based on our initial appearance when we come into a tasting room, and unfortunately 2 of 4 times that we have felt this way have happened at Patterson. We come tasting to potentially spend good money on a bottle or two of wine. We went next door to Gorman and the 1 server there was immediately attentive and wonderful to talk to. I can definitely NOT say the same for Patterson, which is unfortunate for them. Train your servers to treat people equally and we will consider coming back. We ate pizza next door an HOUR after Patterson "closed" and they were serving people in their tasting room. How disappointing of an experience. read more

Found this place through the Woodinville Wine Pass. They are pet friendly, which is great. It was a little crowded as they were also doing a bridal shower, however the staff were friendly, welcomed us and served us promptly. I was impressed by their hospitality. The rose was by far the best value and was also on sale. The other wines were pretty good however there was an uncommon amount of sediment in several of the reds and their port. Some people like that, myself not so much. I thought the reds were decent but the prices were too high, so we bought a bottle of the rose and thanked them for the great experience. We will definitely be back to see what next year's vintage is like for them. read more

Paid for a chocolate / wine experience. I was thinking that they would be walking us through the wines, one at a time, and how they pair with the chocolates. They poured all 5 wines at once and had them on a place mat with the information on it. This was great...however, with what we paid, I feel they should have come back and walked us through the tasting. They didn't come back to check on us or to ask if we had any questions. New to the area decided to check this place out. We brought takeout because we noticed they didn't offer food. My husband goes up to the bar and orders two drinks before he explains we brought takeout, AFTER the bartender woman with the brown curvy hair swipes his card she explains the policy is that they have an agreement with the other restaurant to have their wine patrons not bring takeout to FORCE them to get food from the next door restaurant. After my husband returns with two wine glasses, I was nearly done with my takeout meal because I scarfed it down, when this bartender tells me to absolutely stop eating. I put my meal away and we chugged the mediocre sangiovese and cab-sav Malbec blends. We will not be returning to this establishment because there are tons of wineries here with more accommodating choices, and frankly better choices. read more

Made it in for a tasting before businesses were mandated to close. Patterson is one of my favorite wineries that serves enormous wines by the glass! The reds are lovely and I really like the Chardonnay. Staff is always very alert to bring you your next pour, even if you're sitting at the very end of the patio. Of all the wineries I visited last Saturday, I had the most fun at Patterson. As with most of the wineries in the area, this is a tasting room. The grapes are grown in Eastern Washington but the wine is made in Woodinville. Patterson had the traditional barrels which they told us are expensive and you can only use them twice before getting new barrels. They are experimenting with a new oak-less system where the wine is aged in huge vats (with oak pellets suspended in tea bags in the vat). I had a taste directly from the vat, a cab franc and though cloudy was very crisp and nice. A rose we tried had crazy legs. The craziest I've ever seen. A burlesque dancer would want these legs. The family even showed us how they stuck the labels one by one on the bottles. Wow, this is how wine should be produced- by hand and the care is obvious in the product. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. There was one person helping the whole room of visitors. In the hour that we were there, we got to taste only three of the wines on the flight because we had an appointment to be at. It was such a bummer because I had heard such great things. It's nice that you can order food next door but I don't think that gives them the right to delay their service. Some of us are not there to eat, we are there for the wine. They would mess up, bring us the wrong pour, then take it back. The servers had no knowledge of the product they were pouring. Dropped in yesterday with my wife on the recommendation of a friend. Unfortunately, the service, or lack their of, was absolutely horrible. Instead of taking a moment to explain what wines he was pouring, our server would pour the wine and immediately return his attention to a lady who came in after us. Never once did he explain the wines he was pouring. Actually because his attention was more focused on the child he was carrying in his arms and the lady, he poured our wines in some random order that we couldn't even follow along with the menu. Even though we left with two bottles of wine, only to forgo paying the tasting fees, we were told the wine we wanted to purchase initially did not qualify (didn't see that on any signage). Sadly, we will not be returning, nor will we recommend to anyone to stop here. read more

This is probably my favorite small production winery in Woodinville. The wine is always very delicious, and the people are always very nice. They work informally with the pizza place next door, so whenever we go there we order fries and pizza and the restaurant brings it to us in the winery! They have wines for every palate including amazing whites, interesting roses, and bold reds. The wines are also very affordable, so they tend to have mass appeal. Definitely one of the best value wineries in Woodinville. Whenever we go there we never pay for tastings because we always buy a bottle and each bottle has a coupon for free tastings. Every time we go for a tasting, we buy a bottle to go. Rinse, repeat. It's one of the things that keeps us coming back. I recommend checking out the cellar when you have a chance. I'd never been to the older location of Patterson's (still over in the Woodinville warehouse district), but now that they've appeared between The Station and Gorman Winery in the less-than-a-year-old building on the roundabout, they're hard to miss. So, stop in! This is a lovely space with a few long, high tables, a spacious tasting bar, and the advantage of lots of outdoor patio space to soak up the sun (when it's there, as it brilliantly was today). The attentive guy working the bar did a great job of attending to a largish wedding party as well as just-me, even though I had staked out some table space in the sun and therefore required extra effort from him to keep an eye on my glass. For a refundable-with-purchase $10 tasting fee, I sampled five wines (two whites, two reds, and a late harvest Roussane dessert wine). This is mostly good stuff; the Forbidden White blend is a bit off-dry yet would be perfect for summer, the Cab Franc was unexpectedly lush (though needed a bit of body to balance it out), and the Syrah Sirah was a fun blend with a little muddled sexy spice. As my man said, it didn't have a clean finish...but that's why I loved it. And I hadn't seen a late harvest Roussane before; this packs some nutty sweetness into a viscous amber swirl. Probably not your thing if you don't like dessert intensity in your wines, but I do, so now I'm looking forward to enjoying my bottle. (And the bottle has a tear-off tab on the label that's good for a free tasting for four people on your next visit - what a cool idea.) Patterson offers some good wine for the slightly lower price point, which is what I was looking for today. Though I think you can find better releases for a similar price, this is a great tasting room to visit for great service, a nice sampling of varietals, and wine by the glass or bottle (which you can drink as you sit outside and order a pizza from next door). If you're like me and aim to visit a few (or more!) wineries during your Woodinville trip, Patterson would be a good one to work in when you need some down time and some food especially when the weather's amenable. Although I don't agree with her method of winery selecting, I think she chose correctly. If you get the chance, ask for the Melange Blanc and the forbidden White. My favorite was their Syrah, which had a lot of rich, ripe fruit flavors - very smooth with a nice mouth feel - medium to full bodied. I did not go during the case sale, so I paid $17/bottle - but I still felt like I got a fantastic deal! My partner had family visiting from out of town, and it wasn't always easy finding things that every one of them could enjoy. Our visit to Patterson, however, was a success. It was a bland, rainy Saturday but Patterson was cozy and warm. The fireplace was going, we had the place all to ourselves (for a little while at least), and the staff were welcoming. The four of us did a tasting, which was reasonably priced at $10 a person, and we loved every wine. I especially liked the Tempranillo, and my tasting fee was an investment toward a bottle of that. We also had some nice salty, rosemary-flavored crackers with our wine. And we liked the furniture (the glass-topped old wood table) very much. Patterson also has a very clever promotion on each of its bottles of wine - there's a coupon you can peel off the back, good for 2-for-1 wine tastings and the like. Great visit! read more

After a long day of tasting, me and my bestie decided we were done tasting and just wanted to get a bottle of something lovely to drink and sit in the sun and talk. This was absolutely the perfect place to do that. We walked up to the tasting counter and there was one other couple tasting. We were quickly helped and given a tastes of 3 different wines so we could pick what we wanted, purchased our bottle and found a perfect spot on the patio to enjoy the weather and the wine (we decided on the forbidden white, it was perfect for the day). I'd never realized how many tasting rooms are all in this one little area and we'll definitely need to come back through (oh, no! more wine tasting! that's terrible!). I'd definitely be interested in coming back here to actually taste some stuff when my pallet isn't already exhausted because the service was great, the prices are reasonable and the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for on a sunny day. read more

For the wines, the Una Volta, an odd blend of cab franc and Sangiovese was interesting and unique. I got a bottle.
