We sat at the bar and ordered our first drink as we waited for our table. Before we were seated, our order was taken. I had the queen prime rib, my wife had the seafood platter. After a short wait, we were seated at our table and were invited to the salad bar. Unlike other supper clubs, there are servers at the salad bar and they give you whatever you like and as much as you like. I was served by a very young looking server, he was no more than 14 years old, but was courteous and trained well. After we sat back down at the table, our appetizer as well as the bread arrived. The cheese curds were excellent. Vey tasty. The salad bar was also very tasty and the vegetables were crisp and the soup was fantastic. Our meal arrived shortly after, by this time, my wife and I were staring at each other wondering if we had left any room for our meal...we did...slightly. The prime rib was phenomenal. Medium rare. Seasoned well. Very good. The seafood platter, was generous. Lots of fish. Perch, bluegill, walleye, haddock, shrimp, scallops, all very well prepared and my wife enjoyed the sampling of seafood. The prices were as expected. After drinks, appetizers and our meal, we left and paid for the meal and it was all around $100 or so. A good place for special occasions and if you are super hungry. If you want fancy, this won't match your requirement. Our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Our server could also be described with the same terminology. As it wasn't very busy, both were attentive to our needs throughout our visit. After drinks, we ordered and then found our table in the dining room. We then tried out the salad bar. I have to say it was well stocked and fresh. There was one soup available. It was well composed but lacked some flavor. I bring up the soup because the flavor was my general issue with our food. Well prepared but somewhat bland. I had a full rack of ribs. They were generous in size and fell off the bone, but they seemed simply baked. They needed to be smoked and seasoned. Sweet Baby Ray's also is kind of disappointing at a supper club. Three out of four of us had ribs. Our dining partners didn't say anything about the ribs, good or bad. Our other dining partners had Chicken Monterey. It was also generous in size and according to our dining partner was very good. Also, my dining partner and I were underwhelmed by the house loaded potato cakes. Aside from needing to be hotter, they needed a bit more flavor. In the end, the restaurant did a pretty solid job at a reasonable price. Would I still go there versus another "more well known" supper club in the area? Yes, certainly it is worth another visit.
