Patty bought our breakfast today as a gesture of gratitude for my wife serving the Canandaigua-area veterans. Eight-or-so months ago, Patty gave both of our kids $5 bills for "just being so damn cute". It pays to eat at Patty's Place. The owner is one of the most down-to-earth and genuinely sweet people that I know, a heart of gold. Patty runs a great business, and the food is delicious. Came in after the breakfast rush, still had to wait 15 minutes for water. Stayed painfully slow the whole time. Half of the breakfast was fine (poached eggs), half was iffy (breakfast burrito) to inedible (bone dry oatmeal crammed into a cup - gave up waiting for the promised milk, paid & left). Note to selves: never again. Possibly a fine place to spend several hours with friends waiting for a cup of coffee. read more

So I never thought I would ever be able to witness my first encounter with blatant racism! We walked in the establishment and we were met at the door and told they were closed. The door was open and unlocked, they were still rather busy and full, but we were asked to leave. So, then we called and asked if they serviced black people and her reply was not a yes or no, but that they ran out of food. Are you freaking kidding me?!!! How absurd is that? My sister and I went here for Sunday morning breakfast. In spite of the place being packed, with new diners coming in all the time and patiently waiting in line, the service was fast and friendly, and our food was presented very quickly. I asked the waitress to substitute the meat in eggs Benedict with spinach -- no problem at all. The result was delicious, with very fresh spinach and a wonderful hollandaise, plus yummy homefries on the side. The place is cute and very clean, a great place for breakfast! They don't take Cards! :( Decent food. Good service. Awesome atmosphere. Classic diner. I would be tempted to come back just for that feel. However at this point in 2016, we've built our society around making transactions electronically. Being a hold out and refusing to accept cards isn't noble, just means you won't get my money or patronage. Which is sad. This place is decent. But accept cards. Adjust your prices for the CC fees. Best Breakfast place in town. Small and there is usually a wait unless you get there early. They have great homemade breads and their daily specials usually have some fantastic specialty pancakes or French toast. The homemade cinnamon rolls are amazing when they have them. My favorite pancakes are the Lemon Blueberry. The whole staff is superb...the owner (Patty) is a great lady and does tons of stuff for the community. This is a very cute little place. I came on a Sunday morning, and the place was very busy, but there was a table open to seat my family, we are larger people, and the space was a little cramped, but that's not the establishments fault. Although, even if we were fit people, I may not want to be as close to the people dining behind me. Our server was attentive and kind. There were a couple of teenage girls refilling coffee and water. The restaurant had a really family oriented feel to it, which I loved, and the server was conscious that I had a baby at the table and did not place things where he could grab. Which I also really loved. The menu is small, but it's not lacking in quality. From homemade jams to home made jellies, this place is not lacking in flavor. The food came quickly, and was hot. It was also made precisely as ordered. We will definitely be visiting again! read more

Stopped in here for the first time to relax with a cappuccino and my book. Not much seating but it's a nice little coffee shop. There's one large table for those groups with laptops or paperwork, a nice little bar top by the window with 3 high seats, and 4 or 5 smaller two-top tables. Staff was friendly, coffee was good. Husband and I liked this place a lot. This seems like a place the locals like, which is a good sign. Expect hearty, delicious, savory (and sweet) breakfast foods with wonderfully thick buttery slices of bread made in-house (for an extra $0.50), and good service. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The restaurant was clean and bright. I ordered a corned beef hash with eggs and their bread. Really delicious. I'm not used to being able to eat a full plate of restaurant food but I ate almost everything on my plate! Husband loved his cinnamon roll pancakes and side of bacon. Here we are again in small town, narrow minded Canandaigua. I knew from previous visits Patty's was just fair. Let us try again. I took a booth and waited. Ten minutes go by and the back waitress (apparaantly I was on her outter fringe) asked what I wanted to drink, juice and water. Yea I got he juice , five minutes for water, five minutes for my first menu ( fifteen minutes for a menu?). Two seconds later "what do you want ... Sigh". Sorry I spoiled your day honey by being here to be a customer. I ordered. Watched others come in and get express service. I looked in a mirror to be sure I was visible. SLAP here is my order. In a haughty tone, "and that is all, correct? "Okey dokey, now it is defined where I rank. Finish, wait for check. Walk back to the Patty Guard at the cash register, the safe delightful lady entertaining the local GROUP based on the movers shakers of the fine town. Very slow service. Awful. Waited an hour and a half and still no food. When we asked she said they half way ready. We got up and left first time I have ever had experience this horrible. Slow .avoid this place unless you have all day I have traveled all over this country and eight in hundreds of restaurants in my travels and I've never waited an hour and a half to eat breakfast the waitress was terrible and was disorganized obviously and after an hour and a half we got up and left but I wanted anybody who knows this place and Canaday Gua New York to know that the reputation is not what it seems it was very disorganized very crowded and people were very unhappy with what the service was again we got up and left because we were so darn hungry and had to go someplace I would avoid this little hole in the wall place at all costs read more

When we went to patty's the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. this is our second time going here and I definitely recommend the cinnamon French toast and the two eggs, home fries and toast. Also the extra 50 cents for the homemade toast is totally worth it I would recommend the cinnamon raisin. The only thing is that the portion size is pretty big so two children can share one meal. We had breakfast here once previously and it was good and fast, so we expected more or less the same when we stopped in again. When we were seated the table was covered in the last party's plates and syrup was all over the table. It took a full hour between walking in the door and getting our food - I know because I had my wallet out to leave money for our drinks so we could leave when the food finally arrived. When we were finally served, the waitress explained that the cook wasn't feeling well and was only doing one order at a time - which is fine, but we would have appreciating knowing this 30 minutes ago so we could have decided if we wanted to stick it out. The sausage patties and pancakes were both undercooked and the cheese had barely melted on the omelette. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

AWFUL SERVICE!!!!!! If I could rate in the negative I would! It was busy, we were told numerous times by the waitress it would be a few minutes... offered us to sit with a single man who was occupying a 6 person table. Said waitress then asked the gentleman to move, and then made a scene about moving him to a 2 person table and was rude to us stating "I hope you have time, we are backed up" Didn't set enough place settings and spilled coffee all over the table. Went to order appx 45 minutes after being seated to be told we are out of all pancakes and eggs benedict. We went to order 5 minutes later, the bell dinged and she left mid order from the table to deliver food to another table. At this point we got up and left. Rudest waitress ever...
