Paul David' renovated an apartment I lived in for six years. There was severe water damage during the freeze (fire sprinkler pipe burst). All the COAX were covered in an electric plate. They left no cold water from the kitchen sink. The master bathroom sink pipes below over flow. The value to the dishwasher is loose fitting. The laundry room closet doors were Jimmy rigged with an inexpensive plastic door separator with a two pieces of wood to balances it out, including putting a screw into the carpet outside the doors.That broke in two days They cut an extra inch around the thermostat with installation showing. These are a few of the failures. No lock on my porch door! read more

They don't answer emails, they often don't answer calls. They will politely tell you they'll do something by X day, and then not do it. Person A blames department B, person B blames department A. They tell you one thing on the phone, and then something else later in email. Their estimate was riddled with mistakes, and every time they fixed one thing in the estimate they'd screw up something else. At one point they did not respond to a call or email for 6 weeks, and my insurance agent had to call PDR headquarters. The insurance company fired them this morning. Good riddance. read more

Nothing but headaches, more than a year after My insurance company selected Paul Davis to do some restoration work when my water heater broke summer 2023. Their work was very subpar, horrible communication, they did not arrive when they said they would and they did not even complete everything they stated that they would. In any case, at the end of the job, they emailed me stating that the work was completed and that payment had been made in full (handled by my insurance company). In May of 2024 (almost a year after the work), a member of their finance team reached out saying there was still a balance. I responded questioning this but they did not bother to respond. In August of 2024, I received an invoice for the balance. When I questioned this, I was basically told that they made a mistake in telling me that everything was paid in full and after some back and forth and me stating that this seemed fraudulent and like it was their mistake, they threatened to take me to collections if I did not pay it. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND. After they initially did the mitigation (that part went well), everything else was downhill from there. They told me they forgot to put the carpet on the stuff that needed replacing since it didn't dry correctly, and it would be a while before they could get the flooring replaced. I asked them to please get it submitted since I needed the flooring replaced. That was in March/April. By the end of May, I still hadn't heard back from Paul Davis about my flooring, so I reached out and no response still. So, I contacted the company that originally installed my carpet and got them out to replace my carpet with vinyl plank flooring. I understand this would cost more and I was ok with that. June 11, I heard that Paul Davis was approved to replace the flooring, but I had that job completed already and let the representative from Paul Davis know that. On July 9th, Paul Davis rep asked for pictures to send to insurance and they told me that I would get the money for the flooring back since I paid out of pocket. After looking at the progress on the insurance website, I saw that the insurance already paid Paul Davis for all work. I have been asking for a refund for the flooring ever since and no one is getting back to me. I am very frustrated with this whole ordeal. I had people coming in town for my daughter's graduation and couldn't have 2 bedrooms look like crap without flooring cover, which is why I replaced the floors myself. read more

I thought I would update my review. If I could give no stars I would. 8 months ago, with my first review, I thought the house was done. It should have been. In March of this year, give or take a few weeks, noticed that there appeared to be a broken piece of the vinyl flooring. I reached out to PDR. In fact reached out to Kyle directly. (more on him in a minute). He was right on top of it and was out within a day or 2 to look over the issue. He then reached out to the Installer and, again within a day or 2, the installer was out here and the floor was repaired. Typical for how this job went, the replacement floor started to come up almost right away. At this point my patience was ZERO. Kyle assembled the installer, and a rep from the company that sells the floor locally. During their walk through it did become clear there was more then just the one area. Let me side bar here and state that we had gone out to DeMars, where the product was purchased, to discuss the issue with them. They directed us to Chuck, the owner, who was very understanding and frustrated with the matter. He stated he would replace the ENTIRE floor, for free, provided that the installer, and PDR, determined why it was happening. The plan had been to remove a section and check for level. If not level, concrete floor, then a leveling compound would be used to correct. If level then there would be plan B. After reminded them that we are now on month 15, it was decided that a better quality floor would be used, at there expense, as it would be forgiving if the concrete is not level. Here is the thing. The floor was chosen for me. I was basically told, this is what I get. That would be ok if it wasn't for the fact that was initially chosen was done so based on the color of the floor. Both previous floors were lighter, thus a darker paint was used. That is not a big deal, more frustrated with the fact that it was "this floor or I don't know what will be decided". Once again the house is done. Hopefully for the last time. The only plus is Kyle. I am not sure what is title is, but he has had to clean up the mess from the first attempt, TWICE now. I sincerely doubt that he has gotten the recognition he deserves. If he has I would be shocked. If you read the reviews on this company and still hire them, good luck! read more

I have a house he has been working on for year which was damaged by fire. I had to get all of my stuff moved out which is getting charged by the day. When I ask for updates things have not changed for the last 6month and they keep saying they are reassessing and reevaluating. To our immense dismay, working with this company has become an absolute nightmare. A year ago, the condo my fiancé had just purchased (literally had just closed on it not even a couple weeks prior) was broken into. In a very small nutshell, they had ruined the door/frame. We worked with our insurance to get a quote, but it ended up being wildly under the market value for how much it would be to fix our door/frame (this was found by receiving five different quotes from various companies). Jump to a couple months ago when, finally, Paul Davis Restoration was introduced to the mix by our insurance to create a more precise quote. At first, working with the individual that came out to do the quote, Quinn (she won them the at least one star), was great. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My fiancé had described to her our experience with the insurance company's quote and the initial amount they had given us and she too agreed that we were low-balled. After she had taken measurements, she said their team would submit a quote to our insurance company and then the insurance would be in contact with us. Our insurance hadn't reached out for about a month when we finally reached out to Paul Davis to verify, they had sent the quote in and then we were able to reach back out to the insurance. We were finally given our quote. Yet again, a lower number (albeit a little bit higher than what insurance had originally quoted us). We reached back out to Davis and were handed off to the assistant general manager, Jason Zack who said their estimate was correct; however, he was unable to provide us a detailed bid with the exact cost breakdown of what it would cost for them to fix the door, detailing the equipment they would use (i.e., the door they calculated into the estimate)... is that not a main element of what the estimate is supposed to reflect? How are we supposed to move forward with a company and wholly trust their estimate when they do not include the basic necessity of the door they predicted to use into their estimate? When we were handed off to the assistant general manager, Jason Zack, we quickly learned how not only incapable he was with helping us get the new door in, but also that he expected we would be paying out of pocket being that their estimate was so low. He had linked a "few potential doors" in an email that would have all cost us to pay out of pocket since all of the doors he included costed more than the estimate they provided. The doors he linked, moreover, did not look remotely close to our current door: which is a painfully basic door with zero bells and whistles added to it. I detail all of this as a warning to anyone that has to go through their insurance and work with this company. From our perspective, they lied to our insurance simply in order to win a bid with our insurance to show that they could be the lowest to complete the job; this power move then restricted our freedom to go with another door restoration company because based on the other independent quotes we have received, no one will do the job for a lower price - not even Lowe's or Home Depot. Thus, here we are a year later: still stuck with a broken door/frame and still waiting for detailed information from Jason on getting our door fixed. Was going to charge $4500 to store my couch and a few other pieces of furniture, easily could have been pushed into the kitchen. And sometimes we can sense that subcontractors came in without being told exactly what they need to do. We are in the greater Seattle area and I met David within 2 days of the incident. He has excellent communication skills. He gave me his info and made clear he was available 24 hours if I needed it! David gave clear expectation's of what the process would look like, we appreciate no surprises in this matter. When they abandoned our job after my husband got upset with them bringing shady people into our home, they took their stuff and threw our house key on our front porch and left it open and vulnerable. I've never worked with such a negligent contractor, taking absolutely no ownership over our project. We were referred to them by our insurance company to replace a water damaged floor. Our PM was Jim and now Don Keefe. It took them three months to start with barely any communication regarding timing during that time, repeated phone calls/emails not returned. They ripped up our floors, which is in a primary living space and includes our bedroom, home office (we work from home) and a bathroom. We had absolutely no communication (left messages, sent emails, calls not returned from them) for six weeks, although it only took our insurance company one week to issue additional funds for the water damage. The water damage contractor finished last week and no correspondence from Don. The floors remain ripped up, plastic zip doors covering most areas including bathroom, in other words not livable. As of now, we have no idea when they will return. We have small children in our home and it's an absolute hazard zone. I wish I'd taken the other one star reviews seriously. A pipe burst inside the wall behind the toilet while I as out. Water was gushing from the wall when I got home. That was 2019. I called Allstate and they sent Paul Davis Restoration Allstate paid them in full before I even saw the bid. I was told 6 to 8 weeks that turned into 8 months. First they set up equipment to dry the house. They were in a hurry so they brought in too many heaters and kept tripping the breakers Time dragged on, I did not complain, I said I dont mind if it takes a while as long as you do a good job. When I saw them cutting corners and using cheap material poorly installed I started to asking question. The bid said stain grade wood baseboard, what I got was fiberboard that dings when you look at it too hard. Nate said that was all the bid allowed for. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a couple of the bid. It went beyond cutting corners, They were paid $90 to replace a garbage that never existed, the billed for 32SF of carpet in a 2SF cupboard, 30SF off? The list goes on and on, roughly $12,000. When THEY decided they were done that was it, they stopped communicating. They were done, that was it I had nothing to say in the matter. Things like cupboard that fell off on my foot, closet doors some so warped they will not close. I found out it is company policy to cutoff communication when a customer complains. The idea is either the person gives up or they get so aggressive they report you to their legal firm that will threaten you into submission. Now the insulation is falling down because they went cheap, the damp is coming up and ruining the wood. And they still refuse to respond to calls or emails. I live on Social Security. I can't afford to hire someone to go back and fix problems Paul Davis caused. It has crossed my mine to try and do it myself but I am 67 and nearly died of Covid last year and I could not afford to replace the insulation anyway. If Paul Davis shows up to work on your house you have two choices. Don't let them in or be there and watch what they buy and every move they make and don't trust them. read more

He made a thorough assessment that took over an hour, even though his day started with a call at 6:00am! I arrived at my new house to move in only to find a flood from my laundry room to my living room. As a new homeowner I was freaking out and the team at Paul Davis was superb. Rigo was my first point of contact and he informed me of all that I should expect and then he got right to work. He came back the next day with Alex and they draped and sealed off the damaged area and was as unobtrusive as possible. Their communication with me was great and they were on top of everything every step of the way. Even to the point of being available after hours which was greatly appreciated. We had a water pipe break under our kitchen sink night before last. Lots of water rushed on our new kitchen floor and under the sink and cabinets. Water seeped down to the ceiling downstairs, dripping down on the carpet and made huge water stains in the ceiling. My husband called USAA to report the issue and Paul Davis's lead technician, Andrew Haskell, was over within two hours- very prompt! He was very professional, personable, knowledgeable and thorough. He explained the process in detail and placed two huge dehumidifiers upstairs in the kitchen and downstairs in our office where the ceiling was all wet. Jason and his team did a great job. I had water damage in my basement bathroom, and their service was set up by my insurance company. They were very prompt in coming over to assess and damage and work required. Everything was done in under a week. Everyone was professional and did not require much out of me other than when they needed to start work and when they were done. There was a little bit of work done incorrectly, but coming back to fix it did not extend the timeline. Also, one of the days I was expecting them to come back to do more work, I was not notified until that afternoon that they would not be back until the next day. Not a total problem since I was working from home throughout the week, but still I was making sure to not be busy during the morning so they could get in and do their work. read more

A roof leak caused the ceiling in my front closet to buckle and all the lath and plaster to buckle. The leak had apparently been there for some time and water had trickled into the walls. The Paul Davis team, led by Andrew, stepped in to assess the damage and do the remediation. The actual work was headed by Greg, who expertly sealed off the space and took care of the issue. My house was built in 1926, with elaborate woodwork. I really appreciated the care Greg took to preserve the woodwork as he painstakingly took apart the damaged walls without causing any more damage than necessary. His care and patience was key to successfully completing the project. I would wholeheartedly recommend Paul Davis for your remediation requirements. read more

I'm finally getting around to writing a review. I hope my delay didn't mean others got stung too. Every time I hear a fire truck (like just now) I say a little prayer that the victim won't hire Paul Davis 'Restoration' and add to their misery. After being back in our house for just about a year to date- and staying home almost 100% this year- we're reminded daily of what a bad job Paul Davis did on our house. Doing normal things like wanting to open a (never before painted) bathroom window that is now painted shut AND hardware is painted over also. And while taking photos of puppy, seeing horrendous work on 100+ year old wood floors in every frame. ALL out embarrassing and shoddy work. At their experienced (sly) request they asked to do our final walk through AFTER we had already moved back in. What were we thinking? We just wanted to move back in! Don't do this! Overall Paul Davis as a company is horrible with communication- not what you need after a major catastrophe. Matthew was the plans and money guy- clearly hard working and clearly overextended. Super nice-Promised a lot of things he did not intend on doing. Like saying "we will take care of you, I promise" Nate was a whole other story- was supposed to be our 'go to guy'- but was so condescending in his ridiculous explanations- and offended by any type of inquiry at all that he was a really hard guy to 'go to'. The second time we met him- he announced that we were his very first clients on this type of job! Ugh- he literally said he would "be learning how on the job.." Whatever you do -IF you do hire them- DO NOT let 'Abel' work on your floors! He is not- 'able' in the least. He does all kinds of other work for them too- and is not a floor specialist. ALL of the floors in our 1917 craftsman house are now in need of repair from the damage that this unqualified contractor caused. (without telling us- they used a different contractor than the one Matthew and my husband met for walk through and felt comfortable with) I just happened to be there the day he came to start work- even though PDR asked me not to go to the house because floors were getting worked on- just a flat lie-as they were not even started yet. PDR-Matthew and Nate agreed the floors looked horrible at final walk through and did offer to move us back out of our house right before Christmas and have the same guy fix the floor work -but we did not want any of those guys back in the house. (OR to have to move out again!) Especially since they literally tried to blame us for the cause of the damage! PDR said they would credit us for doing floor repair work but there was not much difference in the final itemized bill. As we were moving back in- we realized some of the hard wood floor pieces in upstairs hallway push right through if stepped on in a certain way- NO support or sub floor underneath. There are some real head scratchers and heart attack moments that multiple contractors did- including: Not covering the house with tarps after the roof was taken off and left open for a rainy night. Electrical- 2 light switches about 4 feet apart that control the same hall and stair lights. And painters- painted right over nails and picture frame hangers. There is an upstairs door that does not close at all any more. (?) Original closet hardware thrown away- left to replace and reconstruct ourselves at move in. All quarter rounds pieces just lying next to the walls- unattached- though on bill as completed work. Line items that said more smoke detectors than were actually there- and the cost of them on the bills- And weird sloppy things like broken outlet covers- the list goes on. Not an HGTV RENO moment to be sure! Please DO keep an eye on your work order/estimate! There were MANY many items on ours that said they had been done and were absolutely not done- when shown the many items they responded 'oh yeah yeah- you're right we did not do that'. These guys know how to work insurance companies and know that most people are not that on top of things especially after devastating experiences. I'm not even sure we were ever reimbursed for the difference. I do know that we never signed the final satisfaction document and were never spoken to about it or anything else again. There are so many more things I could write about- I hope you never need to hire a company to restore your property after a loss- but if you do-DON'T use these folks. Our fire was in January 1019. Work finally began in August and we moved in at the END of November. Looking back through probably a hundred emails it's hard to find many apologies- So don't bother now Greg. read more

I got Paul Davis from a referral from an independent mold inspection company. I also tried calling a couple of mold companies that had high reviews on Yelp, but only one of them really followed up with me (one called me back, just to tell me they'd call me back later -- then never did). And the one that did follow up, I felt like they were trying to upsell me, by requiring another inspection. In any case I worked with David T at Paul Davis and he was great. He was prompt and complete with all communication. There was never a point of confusion. We had a small bit of mold in the garage that we needed to get removed and drywall re-applied. The staff cleaned it up. We let it sit over the weekend. And then the drywall guy came on Monday -- he was done in less than hour. I was really pleased with the service. My hope is that I never have to call them again, but if the need arises, they'll be at the top of my list. read more

just now Has taken more than 8 months to restore our basement after flooding in January, it is now halfway through August. Contractors don't show up on the days they say they will and don't call to inform you. Will leave the site after only a few hours and come up with some reason as to why they can't do any more at the time, of course this is after they take off without even saying anything. Have been waiting to move back into our rented space for so long that we decided to stop restoration. And live in an unfinished basement. I mean... You couldn't even vacuum up the drywall dust from MARCH? Was supposed to have our bathroom done on Monday 8/13 and the contractor never showed up. It is now Friday 8/17 and he was supposed to be here today and never showed up. Use another company. This one is terrible at communicating and takes forever to do a simple reflooring. We will definitely have the BBB look into this company after they made our nightmare worse. read more

I had a water event in my kitchen. My insurance company sent Andrew from Paul Davis over within about 4 hrs. Andrew immediately called in reinforcements to help with clean up. They stayed late to make sure it was cleaned up. In the following two weeks Andrew came in daily to check the moisture levels. He helped organize the pack out crew, and the abatement crew. Andrew is a star performer! He is totally punctual, a fantastic communicator, clearly knows his job well, and completely respectful of the situation we are in. Very satisfied with there work involving water mitigation from a leaky washer. They did an excellent job fixing part of the wall, floors and installing the washer. A week or two after the final installation, one of the hoses came loose so was not properly evacuating the dryer air. They promptly came out that same day to fix the issue. Truly appreciate P. Davis Restoration on how they handled everything so professional. read more
