Terrible! Don't go to this salon! They completely messed up my hair! I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone unless you want to pay for a high-end service done by students; who are not accountable for their mistakes! I wanted a light brown color and I end up having a black hair (even darker thank my natural). You have to sign an agreement of whether you like it or not, you have to pay so that they can practice with your hair. You really get what you pay for here. Don't be fooled by the cheap price, these students are inexperienced. I even booked an appointment with a "Phase Two" student because I was worried about the quality. I asked for a collarbone trim and to blend my short bangs with the rest of my hair so it wasn't hanging weirdly in front of my face. The trim was good enough, but blending the bangs was a nightmare. The girl who was cutting my hair had to call her instructor every few minutes. It was obvious she didn't know how to cut bangs, which is fine because she is a student, but when I pointed out what I felt like needed changes to MY hair, the instructor got extremely snippy with me. It was an extremely uncomfortable environment where I felt as if I HAD to be okay with the cut. After the INSTRUCTOR blended my bangs, I showed the girl a picture of how I wanted my hair to be styled. After simply blow drying my hair, she just disappeared without saying anything. The instructor showed up to say that she tried her best and that she was unable to do the style. WHAT? Ok cool, at least look a little apologetic for that. Not to mention the girl was SO rough with my hair, she would literally scrape my ears with her comb every few seconds which hurt like hell. She didn't stop even after I mentioned this to her. NEVER GET A MANICURE HERE. Literally the worst manicure I have ever gotten. The lady was very unprofessional she seemed to not even know anything about doing a manicure at all. She had to redo my nails twice, was laughing while doing the top coat, and then the nail tech came in to try and fix them but my original nail lady put topcoat on before (which the nail tech told her not to do yet) so it was basically not fixable cause it was dried on my skin. My cuticles are all cut up now and they burn from all the acetone. When the nail tech who came to try and fix them asked how many coats she did my nail lady lied and blamed it on the polish and angle of my nails. Oh and after I told them my service was bad the lady at the counter still charged me. It was 6 bucks but I would rather have gone to the store and bought a 6 dollar nail polish and done them myself. I can't believe they let me walk out of that salon with such a poor nail job. read more

I have always gone to beauty schools for hair cuts and definitely understand the risks and everything. This Paul Mitchell for some reason never gives me a good haircut. I just got a haircut and asked for a 1 inch trim, but ended up getting 4 inches cut off of my hair when my hair was NOT unhealthy in the first place. The girl even measured it out and cut it while saying it was only an inch. I didn't notice the majority of my hair was gone until she had blow dried and styled it. The instructors were closely watching as well and didn't seem to say anything. I just want to suggest that instructors teach students how to better gauge how much they are cutting off of hair and to actually LISTEN to the guests. This is the last time I'm going to go to this Paul Mitchell.. I'm just always leaving disappointed and dealing with the after affect for months until it grows out. read more

90 minutes for an incompetent hair wash! Having recently had ankle surgery, I stopped by to simply get my hair washed. At least a dozen people that checked in after me were called back before me (I was there when they opened) while many employees did nothing or worked on the dolls. I was told I'd have to sit at an initial station to sign a form before they could begin. Getting up and down is hard, so I had to adamantly refuse to sit just for that. Later, only the crown of my hair was washed. When I inquired, the stylist replied that washing all of my hair could get my shirt wet, so she didn't dare. I literally used my own hands to get a comprehensive wash. When she was done, she didn't towel dry or comb my hair. Again, I used a comb to quickly get through it and squeezed water out of my hair while waiting to pay. They did take 25% off the price. Outraged they aren't an option to help those in need of the simplest services. read more

I went in for a trim and I slowly realized after FIVE hours that the girl cutting my hair had never cut anyone's hair before! I had two pints in the front and chunks of hair on the back of my head... Went to get my hair colored last night and had the worst experience ever. I'm a toe head and just put blonde highlights in my hair to keep it from getting dull... not a complicated task. Went in for just a partial weave and was there for 4 and half hours! Girl clearly had no idea what she was doing, I understand they are students but they shouldn't be doing hair on people if they have no idea how to do a basic partial weave. She was constantly having to have someone come over and check her work and just took painfully long to do anything such as blow drying. I didn't even have to finish blow drying my hair afterwards because I had been there for so long. read more

Paul Mitchell the School in Provo, Utah, is by far the best customer service I have ever gotten. The greeters were very kind and helpful and you could tell they were happy to be there. When I was in the back getting my hair done, I felt like a million dollars! They actually took the time to find out what I wanted and discussed how to get it, right there in front of me so I also knew what was going on. During my service, they brought me water and magazines and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying my time. I will return here often because of this and their great services! I always go to the phase two students, and I always feel good about my cut. Just be sure to give them specifics about what you want and they'll make sure you get it! I came here to get a nice ombre coloring and ive never had a problem with their coloring until this last time. I will never go back. I had short hair (to my chin) and wanted a nice Carmel ombre, just something fun for summer. I went in and at first the appointment was okay. The girl wasn't super professional but she was still in training (mind you I asked for one of their girls that was really close to graduating) she then bleached the lower half of my hair in a line and not blending it at all. She then added color and it didn't take so they added more color. She then called the instructor over and she blamed me for not telling them about my perm that was over 2 years ago. I had cut off all of my perm hair. Needless to say I ended up having to pay for my hair that turned out to be orange and then they were going to make me pay to have them fix it. I was furious. I won't recomend them anymore. And I will only go to professionals that have been doing hair for a long time to have it colored again. I was more upset that the instructor blamed me for the bad color instead of taking responsibility for it. read more
