I've literally never left a bad review in my life, but QuietCool deserves one. I had them install a whole house fan directly through them. Price was reasonable and the install was supposed to include removing my old fan. I'll admit I'm the dummy who didn't climb into the attic afterward to check their work, but come to find out, they never even removed the old fan. They just left it sitting up there tucked under the insulation. I called QuietCool and got transferred to customer support where nobody ever answered. Emailed them too. Nothing. The fan itself is fine, but if you buy a QuietCool, I'd definitely have someone else install it. And apparently check the attic when they're done. read more

We are pleased with our whole house fan! My husband's parents had one from the 90's and we always loved the concept, especially living in costal CA! I searched for a long time to find a company who supplied these and I found Quiet Cool. A little background - I called the number on the main Quiet Cool website and spoke to the main manufacturing location. They are the one's that supply the fan's and I guess they just recently started doing installs. They were very unhelpful and had no idea what they were doing. I got discouraged, as they said our house could not have a fan due to our attic makeup. I had to hunt these guys down to get answers, it was like pulling teeth. So please, avoid the main manufacturing company for the installation and just go to the quiet cool guys. Cut to now, I searched quiet cool on yelp because I wanted to give the manufacturing guys mentioned above a bad review and that is when i found the quiet cool guys. So thankful for the quiet cool guys! I called and right away was met with professionalism and could tell they knew what they were doing. They scheduled us for a complimentary evaluation within a few days and had confidence that our attic would be able to fit the fan. They are the ones who have been installing the Quiet Cool products for many years and they have seen it all! We had Misael, Erik and Victor come out. They checked out our attic, answered my many questions and set us up for an appointment to do both insulation and a whole house fan install, within that same week. They came back for the install and the whole process took about 6 hours. They respected my want for no shoes in the house and they carefully laid plastic down in any area they would be walking. They did the install, gave us a tutorial, again answered my many questions and cleaned up very nicely. My husband and I had to do only very minor cleaning after they left, which we very much appreciate! We live in Long Beach area, and these guys are located in Temecula area, but they still service our area, which is so great! We have been enjoying our fan thoroughly. It is hard to tell if the insulation is making a big difference since our attic only covers a portion of our house size, but we are happy we did both. The mornings and nights have been much cooler, getting our house down in temps much quicker and the fan is very quiet. They had a deal running on the fan as well, so we felt the price was fair! Clearly I'm an outlier, but my experience has been bad. Called for a site inspection for a flat roof installation. Two guys came out, were complaining that "they didn't need to be here" and made no effort to actually inspect the roof for rafter size or installation options given the solar panel mountings. They didn't seem to be aware of the flat roof options. I never received a quote or details on options, despite multiple follow up calls on my part. Now looking for an independent installer that treats potential customers better. read more

The installation they did does NOT match what they advertise on their web site. I have plenty of attic space and yet the ducting is kinked, bunched up, and folded on itself. This issues restrict airflow. And the black straps are digging into the ducting further restricting airflow. I asked them to come back to fully extend and open up the ducting but they said I had to pay $149 to correct a faulty installation. read more

BUYER BEWARE: I had the same exact situation happen to me that happened to Doug M. I trusted the installation crew that they would place the fan in an appropriate area, but they installed it where the hot air dumped into my inside atrium instead of out of the rooftop. Sure enough it circulates the hot air back into my house along with dust particles, so the fan is useless. I called Quiet Cool and they told me they couldn't come out because I was a few months out of warranty, even though they installed incorrectly. "They took the money and ran" is a great description of their service. There is no commitment to customer satisfaction. read more

While the unit brings in outside cooler air, the house returns to being Hot again once Unit goes off, because hot air isn't being removed from the house. They won't remedy the faulty installation with poor customer service. Shame on them on just trying to sale units verses what's best for the customer. Quiet Cool Guys installed the unit in lower ceiling portion of the house, when we told them we didn't think that location could work well. Such a great experience getting our whole house fan with Quiet cool guys! Short version is use this company if you're thinking of getting a fan for your house. Longer version: one of my biggest peeves about cooking is the lingering smells it leaves behind. My family loves bacon and I can smell it for the entire day after we've cooked it. Despite opening every window and door I can to air out the house it just doesn't seem to be enough to get the smell out. I was lamenting to my husband about this and he told me to look at a whole house fan? At first I dismissed the idea bc I thought whole house fans were just to cool the house. Something I didn't care for because we have a good AC system. I only really cared about cooking smells. Well I finally looked into it and called this company bc they had stellar reviews and Drew was quick to answer my questions. Better yet instead of just quoting me over the phone like other companies did I expressed our minimal attic space concern and he had his guys come out to check my house. Luke and Travis were professional and friendly. Since I had a small attic space we originally thought only the smaller one would fit. However on day of install Luke brought the next fan size up and with some maneuvering was able to fit it into our space and get it exactly where we needed it. I even cooked a pan of bacon before Luke left to make sure the fan did exactly as he promised. I am thrilled to say it does and now every time I cook I am not stressing about my house smelling afterwards. This review is long overdue, but I stumbled across it in one of my Yelp folders, which I meant to do years ago. We recently moved from Temecula, after 24+ years, where those that live in the valley know it can have some brutal summers; and concurrent disturbing SCE electric rates! We purchased our unit about 15+ years ago when the company was in its beginnings. It was in the dead of summer when we called and committed to purchasing a whole house fan, but the team that showed up and sweltered in that attic doing the installation never complained. My wife and I agree that this was one of the best, if not THE best, investment we made living in that home. During those hot summer days, once the outside air cooled down in the evening, we'd crack the windows and sliders in strategic parts across the home, flip on the fan for a 6 to 8 hour pull. It not only drew in the cool air and pushed out the stagnant warm/hot air through the attic, but once we battened down the hatches in the morning it retained that cooler air within the house. Before we would needed the AC on by noon or 1pm, but afterwards we could go without until the early evening on most days. On those REALLY HOT days we'd have to turn that AC on earlier, but it was a rarity. The electric consumption of the fan system was significantly less than running the AC, saving some serious bucks. Up until we moved, 15+ years later, the system still ran like a champ and remained "quiet" so as noted we were happy with the purchase and it paid for itself in less than 1 year. We have a whole house fan that is probably 10-15 years old or more. It is loud and we wanted to replace it with a more energy efficient, quieter one. Requested quotes from four companies. Only two responded, and Quiet Cool had the most competitive bid and I liked that they specialized in whole house fans (the other company was a contractor). Drew got back to me right away, provided me with options and pricing over Yelp, and since The QuietCool Guys have great reviews, I went ahead and scheduled an installation. We chose the Stealth model, a three speed unit with remote control. There was a rebate offered, which sweetened the deal. I was given a window of arrival between 9 and 11 today, a Thursday. Travis, Alex, and Luke arrived a little before 10. They went right to work. They were professional and efficient. I think from the time that they knocked on the door until they left was probably 40 minutes. Alex provided me with the owners manual, necessary maintenance (not much), and how to work the remote. Justin, the person they use for drywalling work at the intake site in the ceiling, came about 90 minutes later, and got right to work. He did a great job! Started this project with a Yelp request a week or so ago. Drew responded quickly and an appointment was set up for today 05/22/2025 for between 12-3PM. Got a text message at 11:48 stating they were on their way. They arrived right on time at around noon and got to work. They were in and out in probably less than 30 minutes total. Thankfully for me the attic already had a power outlet installed so it was very quick work. This fan is designed to remove the hot attic 130 degree air that builds up all day under the unrelenting sun and replace it with outside 90 degrees air. Essentially it gets the super hot air out so the heat doesn't radiate down into the home making the house more comfortable and ease the AC's workload during the day. I also have a Quiet Cool whole house fan previously installed a few years ago. Open a few windows in the home and that device sucks all the air out of the living space of the home replacing it with cooler air from the outside. Basically makes the AC's life much easier too. Loved this device as it really cools off the home (except in July and August) so figured the attic fan will work great too. Our fan stopped working just three weeks after installation. The company was prompt in responding when we informed them of the issue. They discovered a wiring problem and fixed it very quickly. However, after just one day of use, the fan stopped working again. On the positive side, they have been good about fitting us into their schedule, but I've had to adjust my work schedule and leave early several times to accommodate the repairs, which has been quite inconvenient. Hopefully, this will be the last time we need repairs. Despite these issues, during the few weeks the fan was working, we loved its performance and what it did for our home.
