Paul Reed Smith are great Guitars, however, their customer service needs to work on appreciating their loyal customers. I have purchased more than 8 guitars through the years. I purchased a new guitar last year. They are supposed to give you a Thank You package in appreciation for purchasing a guitar. For 6 months I kept asking about the status of the Thank you package. Finally after 6 months I was told that they shipped me one back in November ( It took that long to check?) they gave me a tracking number that showed that it was left on my porch. I never got it. PRS Manager told me that since they had shipped it, it was too bad that I never got it. After thousands of dollars spent on their guitars it seems that a lousy $50.00 Thank you package would not be a problem to resend it with a signature required. They forget that we pay for them to have a job when we buy their product. read more

Let me start by saying that I never write reviews - I was never moved to express my opinion online about any company, but today I must make an exception. Matt King, the customer service representative at Paul Reed Smith Guitars went above and beyond in standing behind their product. A few months ago I purchased a PRS guitar, one of their entry level instruments, and I enjoyed it immensely. After a while, however, I noticed, a relatively minor flaw that I felt could easily be taken care of by any competent luthier. I had heard about their PTS department, the in house repair shop, so I gave them a call and spoke with Matt King, the customer service representative. At Matt's suggestion, my wife and I accepted his invitation to visit PRS while he had my guitar serviced on the spot. We toured the plant, and we had ample opportunity to ask questions see how the people, their expertise and craftsmanship make these remarkable instruments and amplifiers come together. Our guide, Sean, was exceptional in giving us a real behind the scenes tour of the entire manufacturing process. We again met with Matt at the end of the tour. He had looked into the repair of my guitar, but he felt it did not meet their exacting standards of manufacturing. He then presented me with a new guitar, the same model but a step up in desirability, at no cost to me. I was just floored. Not only were we wowed by the expertise and hospitality of everyone from the receptionist to the head of acoustics to the PRS amplifier guru, but we were treated like royalty by their customer service department. I had a chance to visit the factory last year and was blown away. I had no idea how much hands-on was actually being done with these USA made guitars. Incredible pride in workmanship at every level along way. Just watching these builders made me want to be part of their team. Our tour guide was an amazing wealth of information and there was no question that he couldn't answer. Even seeing The Korean made SEs and the meticulous inspection process that they go thru before being shipped on of the distributors was quite remarkable. Looking forward to going back. read more

My son and I have had a chance to tour the plant and meet Paul Reed Smith. These guitars are as much a work of art as they are technically awesome instruments. Paul is personable and loves his work - it shows. I know wood and his curly maple has to be touched to be believed, the grain jumps from the surface. I have purchased 5 PRS guitars as well as an array of others. The first one I purchased was a used Santana guitar. I liked it so much that I bought a second new Santana guitar as a gift for a lawyer friend of mine that had done a lot of legal things for me for free. When I saw the gift, I had to have one for myself, so that was a 3rd Santana guitar. Then, I saw a Zach Meyers semi hollow body that I loved the looks of, so I bought it. Finally, I just purchased a PRS Custom 24 w/Floyd tremolo. And I love every one of them. I had purchased an Epiphone LP Plus Top Pro that I loved, but when one of the pickups stopped working, I had it repaired at Guitar Center. I asked the guy who works on guitars there which brand of guitar he sees the fewest problems with and he responded immediately that PRS guitars have the fewest issues. My PRS guitars are lighter than other brands and the electronics are magnificient. The one I just bought has a wide thin neck which is perfect for my larger hands. It also has push/pull knobs to get both humbucker and single coil sounds. The strings are easy to bend vs some other brands and the quality of sound can't be matched. Also, the flame maple tops and mahogany bottom is just a dream to look at. (Beautiful) I love my Epiphone LP Plus Top Pro, but this latest PRS Custom 24 will become my "go to" guitar for playing gigs. read more

My wife Sent my guitar in for restoration as a surprise for me. They were told to restore it back to original condition using the American parts that it came with. There were a couple comunication break downs but they are getting it resolved. I am a total prs fan. They have returned my phone calls and emails as requested. Paul and Matt were great to work with.
