Stopped in after seeing them mentioned in Bizarre Foods Delicious Destinations. Grabbed a peanut stick and some assorted donuts. The donuts seemed very fresh and were tasty! And surprisingly, we bought them in the morning and when we nibbled some more that night, they still tasted fresh - not hard and stale like some other donuts. The coffee was decent. These doughnuts were stuffed. My Bavarian crème had so much custard and so did our cannoli doughnut. I've never seen such a stuffed doughnut. These doughnuts will satisfy any size queens demands. Hands down the best place to get Donuts in the area. Surely people will say they are not but those people must not like food very much. This is a buffalo staple and they never disappoint. They are always friendly here even at 4:30 in the morning with 100s of people waiting outside for donuts on specialty days. I commend them for not loosing their cool with some of the people who come in and just simply don't know what they want when there is a line out the door. Should definitely come for Starwars day because they make amazing Starwars character donuts (not new flavors) and they are on point. You should get there early on those days as the line is usually out the door and once they are gone they are gone. Recently they did the cannoli donuts for charity event and let me tell you they were the best donuts I have ever had. Again line out the door for a limit time donut and I got there at like 4am just to make sure I got in line but stuff like that is always a good time. If you live here or are event just passing through and have a sweet tooth you should stop in for all your pastry loving goodness! read more

Paula's is always delicious. With that said I do have a few suggestions when ordering. The donut holes seem to be consistently fresher than the donuts so if you're ordering red velvet (my personal favorite) get the donut holes. The peanut sticks and the white frosting filled with the chocolate glazed are always crowd favorites, order extras of those. The speciality donuts imo don't live up to the hype, specifically the cannoli donut. If it ain't broke don't fix it and Paula's classic flavors are all exceptional! read more

Great donuts and breakfast sandwich. We came in from out of town and on the way out looked for a donut spot to grab something real quick before hitting the road back to Rhode Island. It was busy Sunday morning. We should have known, but they loved pretty quickly. They brought out more donuts as they ran close to out. Very efficient employees/system. The ordering process was a little unorganized. Instead of waiting for a customer to move after ordering, they called the next customer up to order so we had to somewhat order "loud" and behind a family as they were gathering their kids to love out of the way. They did have a scratch card machine, but it didn't take the dollar bill we tried to put in. We thought it would have been fun to do a couple of those while we waited, but unfortunately that didn't work out. All in all, it was a good pit stop before we hit the road. Yes they are that good. Limited offerings compared to the other donut mecca I frequent (Donut Dip in West Springfield MA). The iced coffee is the sleeper (strong..). Usually I get the apple spiced when out here, the glazed is quite good as well. read more

If you can overlook the scathing attitudes of management, the obvious chaotic mess behind the counter, and looking into the kitchen...it's all good. We witnessed a young manager yelling at ALL of the employees, loudly in front of everyone about giving customers receipts. I was embarrassed For them! The poor girl helping us looked like she was fighting off tears. Undercover Boss, anyone? Yes it's stressful to be busy, but that means you are working and making money. There is definitely a better way, please PLEASE treat your employees kindly. Don't wear dirty aprons at the counter, clean the floors and remember to tell the customers to have a nice day/evening. I only tried Paula's donuts because I just happened to be in Buffalo on National Donut Day and I really wanted my participation trophy. I got two dozen donuts (plus my two free donuts because it was National donut day) There was a huge line. I can only imagine it wouldn't have been that long if it weren't National Donut day. They were giving out a free donut with every beverage purchase. I got a coffee. The coffee was run of the mill average. The donuts I purchased were pretty tasty. I didnt like some of the flavors but like I said I got two dozen and every single one was different so I didnt expect to like them all. The establishment itself looked very clean and the staff was more than helpful. One lady even went to the back to get my donuts since I wanted one of every flavor. The donuts are pretty good. I've had better and I've had much worse. If I lived closer I would definitely pop in once in a while. I say once in a while because I thought they were pretty pricey, not that they weren't worth the price. I suggest checking them out if you're in the area. read more

Paula's holds a special place in my heart and in my families. My go to is the vanilla cream filled donut. They pack the donut with their delicious white filling (I know this sounds wrong, haha). Your first bite, the cream just explodes into your mouth (wow, this just keeps getting worse haha). There is no better spot in Buffalo to get a donut mark my words. Now on a more serious note. Before my grandfather passed away, every Sunday morning he would wake up and grab a dozen donuts for my sisters and I. We have since continued this tradition and when we eat them it reminds us of all the funny/happy conversations we had with him over these donuts. I went here on May 31st, the last day they were serving their specialty donut, which was the Churro donut. I hope they bring that back as a regular item, because it was so good. A little while later, a national chain competitor brought out a churro donut and it was no competition to Paula's. I am thought about this donut many times since I had it. I recently came here to get doughnuts, but I walked out with doughnut holes, which was even a better choice. The customer service is great and friendly, the donuts are fresh and delicious. My favorite are the Bavarian custard with the chocolate on top, yes, I was the one at the stoplight with the chocolate on my face, the donut does not make it home. I highly recommend this place.
