I got a pedicure here yesterday and my right toenail is extremely swollen and extremely red. Don't go here if you don't want a toenail infection. I can barely walk on my foot it's so swollen and painful. Puss has started to come out as you can see in the last two pictures. If the health and safety of customers is important I shouldn't have gotten an infection in the first place and get my money back doesn't help I have to go to the doctor and deal with an PAINFUL infection for who knows how long.. read more

I have been coming here for years. Keeps getting worse and worse. I always wait during my appointment time. I drove 30 minutes, was 5 minutes late because it's raining, and she took someone else DURING MY APPOINTMENT TIME!!!Horrible customer service! I made an appointment two weeks ago for myself and a friend on a Sunday. They took my info and confirmed. When I arrived to my appointment, the place was locked up and the sign on their door says "CLOSED" on Sunday (a paper sign). Wife and I will not be back, especially when you have the audacity to demand a tip to be added or give cash directly. I am not a fan of places that except a tip. i don't know why their place doesn't have better reviews. I came in for the first time after being referred by my good friend that has came here for over 10 years to get her nails done. I loved it. The workers there were very nice and kind and made sure i was well attended to. They made sure to communicate on exactly what i wanted so they were sure to do it right. I got acrylic nails and a french tip pedicure. wow was the pedicure amazing! the worker massages my calf's and feet for over 10 minutes making sure it was relaxing for me. Not coming back. I normally have a lot of patience with nail salons because I don't want to be a high maintenance customer but I got a pedicure here and not only did the girl have an attitude, she also did I sloppy job. I have dry skin naturally and she could tell so she tried to up-sell me sugar scrub. When I declined, I felt that she was annoyed. I understand that she might have not meant it that way but that's how her reaction made it seem. I initially chose a blue polish but she started painting my nails and the bottle of polish was basically empty. She told me I'd need to choose a new color but to make it easy I just said white. I know white polish is tricky but she did a sloppy job and didn't even clean it up with acetone and a brush like other salons do. She wiped off the top coat brush onto their brown towel and then proceeded to paint my nail and get brown fuzz on top of the white polish. I pointed this out to her and I got the vibe she was annoyed again! She put my flip flop on after and messed up the polish on one of my toes. A common accident with an easy fix but when I pointed it out to her, she didn't even fix it! She just barely wiped a little bit of the smudged polish off and stuck a cotton ball in between my toes. Then she left and sat by her coworker at a table. When it came time to pay, I tipped her like normal and everything still but as I left I said "bye, thank you!" and she just looked at me. No response, no facial expression, nothing. Next time I'll remember quality is more important that convenience of the location. Go somewhere else if you want a quality pedicure and good experience. read more

I have been going here for a year now and sadly, I have to change my review. I literally get the same gel manicure every time. A base color with loose glitter for an ombré effect. Every. Single. Time. I have to re explain what I want and they roll their eyes. The last two times I pulled out pictures I had taken of my nails and told them, you guys have done my nails like this time every time I come and always make a big deal of it. Come on, can you please just do my nails how I have them every time without an eye roll or a sigh of disgust or trying to tell me they can't do it. I don't know why they have such bad attitudes but they do. I can't handle it anymore. I highly recommend do not go here unless you want a salon full of women who do nails act like you're a moron when you ask them to do something beside a single coat of nail polish. I gave this place a second chance because my mother in law swore by a specific person. NO... Dont go here. She told me there was no such thing as gel matte top coat and of course there is....but she used a regular polish matte coat and two hours later it was already scratched up. She wouldn't taper my nails to a coffin shape and some of them are dented in the middle. $60 w tip for a full set with gel. No hand lotion used after, no massage either. Not even cuticle oil!!! Getting my nails done is a luxury for me. Paulene's does not make it feel like one. After going for months no one knows my name. (Except Beth who is really a very sweet and good technician.) Can you imagine going to a hair stylist for months and them never knowing your name? Owner is very rude. The last time I was there she was setting appointments the entire time she did my nails. I picked up my phone to look at texts and she grabbed it and put it aside. She recommended that I do dip nails when I asked the price it was so much more than gel and when I inquired why she said, "oh it is too much for you." She lectured me on and on about how I needed to come in more often. The entire experience was so strange that the woman next to me looked at me and raised her eyebrows as if to say, "what?" That was the last time I went. The new salon offers me water the minute I get in and my second time there knew my name. This is what is important for me when I am paying for a service. The nail technician was excellent and followed all COVID-19 precautions; which I appreciated. Average price for a pedicure with the ability to add on extras. Omg I'm so happy I found this awesome nail salon! I went in today for a mani and a pedi. It was a busy day, but the lady doing nails took her time and made sure everything was done right. She didn't rush even though people kept coming in. I walked out feeling a million times better. I've met a friend here a couple times because she likes this place and the hot stones they use. Personally, I'm a little more picky about nail salons and as a former massage therapist who used stones during treatment, these were awful. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't anyplace I'd recommend either. My polish started chipping at 3 weeks and they never do a great job scrubbing my heels. Cleanliness, which is my pet peeve, was OK. Places like this are a dime a dozen. You just have to shop around to find one you're are comfortable with. I'm still looking. read more

I've been going to Paulenes for years to get pedicures. Depending on the day and time, this place can get pretty packed. If you go on a weekday during the middle of the day, I've found the experience to be wonderful with a longer massage. The ladies are friendly and do a good job. I really love the hot stones they rub on your legs with the lotion. If you're looking for a clean, professional place to get a pedicure, I would recommend this place. The prices are a tad high but is nice to spoil yourself every once in a while. For a regular pedicure, callus removal and tip, I usually pay around $25. I've never had a terrible experience there and do come with friends often. read more

I've been coming here for years and it's always excellent service! All the employees are so kind and go out of their way to make sure I feel appreciated as a customer. They know my mom and sisters and always greet us when we come in. I'm not one to complain-- I created a Yelp account solely for the purpose of this salon. I am absolutely disgusted by the way Paulene's conducts business. I've been going to them for quite some time, referred friends & even bought gift certificates. On two occasions, my gel manicure started peeling off only a few short days after getting them done. Long story short... I went recently and they used a stale bottle of gel polish, leaving my nails thick & the color uneven. The woman helping "fixed" the problem by putting regular nail polish on top of the gel (which as anyone with gel experience should know, peels right off). She insisted that I come back if it peeled off. Less than 48 hours later, it started coming off, so I went back. She re-did my gels with a fresh bottle of polish in a nearly identical color by a different brand, per my request. I offered to pay; she would not accept payment other than an additional tip (after my 20% two days prior). I went back for my usual appointment today, only to find my nail tech (one who sits in the front far left corner-- different girl from last time) argue with me out of nowhere when I asked for an additional swipe of top coat on one nail. She was rude from the get go, not even responding when I asked how her day was. Then, she screamed (yes, screamed) that the last time, I came in asking for my nails to be re-done days later in a "new color" (i.e. my asking to not use the same stale polish), and that I should stick to regular polish so that I can change the colors myself. I told her that I am paying for a service, a loyal client, tipping generously, and I expect them to look great-- not to mention never coming back. A woman getting a pedi in the chair next to me waited outside to talk to me, applauding me for speaking my mind. I have a feeling she won't be going back either. read more

I find both of these two at Paulenes and there are two bonuses. The first bonus is as the polish is drying on your fingernails, you receive a neck massage. I've been there twice now, once for a mani and once for a pedi. Both times they were pretty busy, but very accommodating as long as you didn't mind waiting a little bit. The staff there are very very friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. The shop isn't too big, about 10 pedi stations and 10 mani stations, but they make great use of the space and you never feel crowded. I'm a dude so I can't say much about their abilities to do gels or powdered nails, but all my friends who have been with me say its good stuff. I frequently do this and I will for sure continue to come back to Paulenes. Its a good idea to make an appointment on the weekends as it does get really busy, but as I said before, they try to accommodate as best as they can. read more

My nails are thick, my gel polish was ALL OVER my skin and under my nail, and my toes....literally had to come home and redo them myself. I paid $84 for this CRAP! I originally gave this establishment a 5 star rating. I loved my nails last time and I was treated well. Yesterday i went In for a fill (I called ahead and scheduled it for 4:15). I got there early and was still not seen until closed to 430. Once my nail tech received her payment (asked me for cash before she started polishing) she paid no more attention to me. I waited for 35 minutes for any type of attention or communication regarding why my nails were taking so long to dry. My nail polish came off on my door handle when leaving. Once I got in my car to drive home (I have a 1.5 hour commute to home), I noticed MULTIPLE nails were messed up... this forced me to go back inside and ask them to touch it up. They did, then went back to ignoring me. After 30 MORE minutes of NOTHING being said to me, I leave again. I get it my car, noticing even more sloppiness and flaws on my nails and finally I go back in and demand a refund. The lady at the desk tells me 'you must remember that this is your fault not ours, next time if you get the gel this will not happen' then says she will not give me a refund but will paint my nails again. I tell her NO and that I just want to get home at this point.... She slaps the money I paid on the table (it was also ten short) and then I left. I loved this place, but sadly, most of these negative reviews are true. Do not come here. read more
