Located of a main road tucked in a nondescript shopping center you'll find Paul's Bakery a hidden gem in the Fredericksburg area. Inside you'll find a very cozy mom and pop shop where you can find all sorts of treats from pies cakes cookies and especially donuts. I was sent this location from someone in the area for a request of donuts but when I got there I decided to try a little bit of everything. Donuts are delicious and taste fresh and their chocolate chip cookies are very good with the homemade feel. Service is exactly what you'll expect where the clientele are asking for the owner by name. Definitely recommend if you're in the area

Delicious donuts with a friendly smile at a dry warm and inviting location that smells like sweet dreams. Ordered dozen donuts and highlight that any specialty donuts such as the maple bacon donut come with a small upcharge to the dozen but very much worth it. The lady attending us was very patience as we were just trying to pick it all in our dozen but never rushed us and ensured we got all we wanted. Ordered my coffee and she also advised it comes with a complimentary choice of glazed or cinnamon donut holes that made it that much more sweeter. Absolutely a must if you're in the area and a stapleton in this community. Happy to have stopped by and try this location.

We pre ordered 36 cupcakes for our parents 50th wedding anniversary gathering. These cupcakes were so delicious and very squishy. I added different color edible glitter to make them all sparkly and added the toothpick 50th anniversary signs. The cupcakes were ready for pickup on time. Ordering wasn't the easiest process because we wanted to make some changes and customize the flavors. There were something's we wished we could change but the pick up was smooth and on time. People know Paul's bakery and have been a staple of the community for many many years.

The most delicious donuts ever. They're so soft and fluffy and that chocolate frosting is like a dreamy pillow of goodness. Even the frosting is fluffy. Idk how they do it, but it's delightful. My mom bought all the apple fritters they had today, which was 11. She planned on getting two dozen, but we came later in the morning and that's all they had left. She also got two brownies and two cream filled donuts. I also got two brownies and two cream filled donuts. The cream filling doesn't really taste like anything so that's the only complaint but who cares when the rest of the donut tastes so good. Service is very friendly and the shop is always clean. It smells like yummy baked goods. We always make it a point to come here whenever we're nearby.

"Why did I not visit sooner?" Please ask yourself this question once you check it out because I sure did after visiting Paul's. Situated in a non-descript plaza, this bakery is a hidden gem that takes you back to the olden days. Most donut shops these days throw lots of stuff onto their donuts but Paul's keep it real: plain, dipped, filled. Nothing fancy, just outright delicious donuts. The place is busy, so get ready to order as soon as you walk in the door or step to the side because the folks behind the counter want to keep things moving. There's plenty of parking and they are closed on Sunday and Monday. They open super early and close early, so definitely watch the time. Public service announcement: buy a dozen and take them to work; your coworkers will thank you.

I have never been in Paul's Bakery but being in the healthcare industry, we get their donuts often from our very kind patients. As soon as I see the box come in the door, I get so excited. LOVE these donuts. Filled donuts are my favorite and every flavor I have tried has been so good. Now, we live very close to the bakery so I will go pay them a visit. read more

Love Paul's Bakery! Fantastic pastries. Dollar for dollar there is no comparison to to chain donut locations around town. The donuts are larger, and actually have filling in them, unlike others in the Fredericksburg Central Park location, and the line is almost always to the door. It's not the most convenient location, but if you want quality donuts that are not frozen and shipped in like some others in town, stop into Paul's. You won't regret it. Just get there early before they sell out! read more

I came in around noon and got me a dozen mixed donuts. Each and everyone of them were very tasty!! Move over Krispy Kreme, i found me a new spot. Wish this place was closer to where I live, but this is definitely worth the drive to get awesome donuts. $10 a dozen, you can't go wrong with that. You get half a dozen for free later in the evening, I guess it makes sense since they want to get rid of any remaining donuts before closing time. Definitely will be back for more!! read more

I try to support local businesses and their products are good. But the current ownership and employees act as if they don't care to stay in businesses. They finally got rid of a very vulgar employee who was simply unpleasant to the customers. Now, they act as if they are taking their customers for granted. I waited 15 minutes for a loaf of cinnamon raisin bead to be sliced. I was asked to step aside several times by the counter people - and ten "thrown" the product and no apology. Wow. read more

SO GOOD. Light and fluffy yeasted doughnuts. Fillings are high quality and not gel-like as you'd find in a say a Dunkin' Donuts Boston cream. Wish they were open on Sundays when I'm more inclined to eat high calorie treats ;) but it's worth the splurge on my non-cheat days! read more

I was craving something sweet so stopped in and settled on a brownie. The two ladies behind the counter were very friendly and let me know since it was my first time I got a free donut and that they were also giving away pumpkin pie slices. Everything looked so yummy. I felt horrible walking out with so much while not spending much, but there's no one at home to share more treats with. All three were very tasty and I will definitely return if I am in the area! read more

The hubs and I were in the area, and after a meal, I said that we needed another dessert :P I was excited to check out Paul's Bakery, as I've had this doughnut place on my list for quite some time. This place has been around since '73, family-owned and -operated, and besides offering old-fashioned doughnuts, they also have pastries, brownies, custom-order sheet cakes, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, pies, and packaged cookies. They currently have a 'Buy 12, get 1/2 a dozen free,' so, of course, I went out of town. I got: a Glazed Sour Cream, a Maple Sour Cream, a Glazed Devil's Food, a Glazed Ring, a Honeybun, a Maple, a Maple Bacon, a Maple Nut, a Coconut, an Oreo, a Glazed Twist, a Glazed Buttercream, a Glazed Apple, a Glazed Blueberry, a Blueberry, a Glazed Cherry, a Glazed Lemon, and a Glazed Strawberry. These doughnuts were fresh and yummy, and my favorites so far is the Maple Sour Cream (dense and cake-like, with a great maple taste), the Blueberry (slightly cake-y with a heavy blueberry taste!), and the Glazed Ring (soft and yeasty). Maven, who assisted us, was so sweet and offered customer favorites as well as favorites of her own. The only thing I have ever had here would be their cake donuts, because they're so good I can't bear to have anything else! I have had the blueberry cake donut and the Red velvet cake donut - my absolute favorite donut of all time! The only thing that could have made the red velvet cake donut even more perfect would have been a cream cheese icing drizzle on top! The blueberry was a little more sweet than I would have liked it to be, but still fantastic. read more

If you can get over the hours which are a little limited they have some of the best donuts in Fredericksburg. They are a little off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip on a Saturday morning. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed. read more

Now this place take me back to when I was a kid and we would get dounts on weekend morning. Great staff and reasonable prices. You can't find bakeries like this anymore. When I explained the story to the employee and request if I can buy the bigger size instead and will pay the difference, the employee was so rude and refused to swap the cake with a bigger size. Very disappointed from such service.

We started with miso soup and edamame before enjoying the sushi boat for two. The miso was very flavorful, edamame hot and well salted. I'm really glad I asked for extra sauce because without it, the meal would have been extremely bland. Based on this experience, I would only order sushi from here in the future. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the fried rice.

When you walk in there's a counter and stools, not many tables, the place is small and needs a little updating. It was Father's Day and the wait was long. Our waitress was great, knowledgeable of the menu, made good recommendations. I had the shrimp and grits which was good but too spicy for me. Steak and eggs were good, not tough at all. I would return to try other items on the menu

Wow. I really have to be craving donuts to get some and today I was. These are seriously the best donuts I've ever had. How have I lived in Fredericksburg without coming here. The yeast donuts are light and fluffy with delicious glazes. The cake donuts are absolutely wonderful, cakey without being dense. I will definitely be back. read more

Paul's Bakery is the original donut shop in Fredericksburg and still the best! I know there are now quite a few other donut shops, however Paul's still remains the best in my opinion. Love the chocolate covered donuts and the Bacon Maple Glazed. They always serve you with a smile. read more
