Husband comes here weekly, and he comes more often when he wants pizza. This is his favorite pizza restaurant, and it's mine too! I especially enjoy coming here before or after a show at Ruth Eckerd Hall. It's so close & the food and service are excellent. Tonight we're here before the Jeff Foxworthy Show at REH. IT IS PACKED! But luckily someone left after we ordered and the booth was quickly cleaned for us. Great service! Background music is pleasant and not too loud. This place never is the spot for my wife. She grew up in Chicago and their pizza just hits home for her. Friendly staff and quick service. It's located in the Publix plaza. The pizza has the perfect crunchy crust. The wings are also great. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. We usually order garlic parmesan poppers because IT IS A MUST. First time I've been to Paul's Chicago Pizza and I was very impressed!!! This is an order at counter restaurant and they bring the food out to your table when ready. Entire restaurant is adorned with festive themed decor which looks great!! Food was brought out in good time and was perfect temperature. Ordered 2 pizzas, one was the 8" Buffalo chicken pizza and the second one was a 16" thin crust cheese pizza. Both pizzas were excellent!!! The thin crust was perfectly crispy and not over cooked!! Highly recommend trying this restaurant out!! They have a great variety of menu choices in addition to what we ordered. They have soft drinks as well as draught beer and more to drink. Man, what a good move it was driving over to Paul's Chicago Pizza in Clearwater, FL yesterday... Everybody was super nice and friendly and welcoming -- and the XL Sausage & Pepperoni thin crust Chicago Pizza was dynamite! And it turned out to be a lot closer to Town & Country Tampa than I realized, which is going to be an issue! It tasted like fresh, top shelf ingredients put together by an experienced, talented crew... It even reheated beautifully for my wife's dinner tonight, and she was really impressed... Decided to try Paul's Chicago pizza last week. Great environment, staff was spectacular, cozy with some TVs, but not too much. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with hot peppers as well as a medium traditional, special, thin crust pizza. The beef sandwich was delicious. I did like the fact that it wasn't so humongous that I needed an entire roll of paper towels to eat it just a personal preference. We definitely eat again as far as the pizza goes. It was delicious. The sauce had a sweet taste to it that I really liked and the crust was between thin and cracker allowed me to wipe out 3/4 of a 12 inch pizza by myself. I could've kept eating it for days. I will say a little disappointed in the cheese did not taste freshly shredded. That day wasn't like your traditional Midwest pizza with heavy cheese, but overall the pizza was delicious nonetheless. We used to love this place, especially pre-Covid, when they were still offering their lunch buffet. As of late, the sausage on the sausage pizza tastes off to us, even though they claim that they didn't change its recipe in years. If they were to bring back the buffet and bring back the taste of the sausage that they used to have, it would easily be 5-stars again. read more

I have been coming to Paul's for 6 years when I visit in Hernando Beach. I live in Portland Oregon where the artisan pizza is fabulous. Paul's could easily compete in Portland. Sausage, sauce and dough all made in house. The pizza arrived piping hot; seriously, you can burn your mouth. A generous layer of thick sauce supports an abundance of fresh toppings, no skimping here folks. Just the right amount of stretchy mozz covers all that goodness. Staff is friendly and helpful.
