Cheese and pepperoni pizza is always available by the slice and every day they have 2 additional by the slice options (based off various pizza styles on the menu). And you can always get full size pies. I highly recommend their Detroit style pizza...the Dr. John is my go to. They have a rotating cheesecake selection for those with a sweet tooth. I kept hearing good things about this place, so I had to check it out for myself! Upon arriving we were seated right away on the outside patio. It was hot outside, but the patio had plenty of fans and coolers around to help keep it a bit cooler. There was also a country singer out there who sounded really good! It was quite loud while he was singing and hard to hear the people I was with, but it was still a nice environment. We started with the garlic knots, which were so fluffy and perfectly flavorful, without being overly greasy as some places' garlic knots are. The dipping sauce was delicious too! We ordered the Vodkaroni Sicilian pizza, which had a nice fluffy crust, crispy pepperoni, and a tasty vodka sauce. We also ordered a second pizza, and couldn't decide which to get so our waitress let us know we could do half and half! We got half garden pesto and half pistach-I-dew. The pesto was very flavorful and the pistachio pizza was super unique but so good! All of our food was amazing and the service was decently quick, considering the crowds on a Saturday night. Fantastic!! I've never had Detroit style pizza before so we tried it. I have no idea if it was authentic Detroit style, but what I know, is that it was excellent! They fermented the bread for three days so it's super fluffy. The biggest takeaway was that everything they make uses top quality ingredients. You can taste it in the sauce, cheese and bread. Me and the fam came here on a Sunday afternoon on a whim and we were so glad we decided to stop in! It was very hot outside, but this outdoor seating space didn't feel like it was blazing out - they have a good amount of fans to keep the air circulating in the seating area thankfully. The menu has so many different styles of pizza to choose from, we ordered the Olde World Style, The Honey Cup - it was delicious, would definitely order this again. We also ordered the Stuffed Peppadews, the ricotta inside the peppers is so creamy and really pairs nicely with the peppers. Another big hit at the table were the Meatballs in Marinara - the meatballs were big, and the ricotta comes with this as well and again was delicious - the sourdough bread was great, our baby loved it and ate pretty much all of it! We were in Tampa for the day and decided to find a local pizza place to try (as we always do). The NONA Slice house did not disappoint. First, seating is outside. So if you're not from FL (we are) the heat can quickly overwhelm you so come prepared in the summer. Our waitress was fantastic. She was clearly powering through the heat, but had great energy and checked in often. The food was amazing. We ordered the Garlic Knots, the Honey Cup large, and the Parma sandwich. Garlic knots were baked well, doused in garlic, Parmesan, and olive oil, and served with a simple and tasty marinara. The Parma was rich from the olive oil and cheese, but the pizza dough style bread was crispy and cooked perfectly. And then the pizza. This thing was huge (18"). It was cooked to perfection. Crust was crispy all the way through, and nice and thing. Perfect amount of toppings, including the hot honey drizzle that just sent this pizza over the top. I've been to more than 50 pizza places, this is my new favorite spot. I will gladly drive from Orlando on a random weekend to hit up this pizza spot. read more

Well...I tried about 6 pizza places while on vacation in the area. Not a particularly big "pizza" state but Portnoy rated this place as the best in the area. He was right. I tried a Detroit style pizza and it was above average but nothing to write home about. This Margherita pizza on the other hand was delicious. I sat at the bar and got the two slice special with a soda for $9.50 which is a great deal. I got one pepperoni and one specialty slice which they switch up daily. Detroit style pizza!!!! This place is over flowing onto the streets on the weekend with people trying to get some of the best pizza in Tampa Bay. I couldn't believe how good the death by pepperoni was for $31. It's "only" 8 slices, but it'll feed you for 2 meals for sure. It's plenty of pizza for 2 people. We also got the one world style $18 14 inch margarita. It was fine, but the Detroit style pizza blew us away. There are tons of happy hour deals and daily deals. Pizza was brought out in good time and looked great!!! Ordered the 18" New York Style cheese pizza. Pizza was hot and had great flavor!!! The decor is interesting all around to look at and the trees over the parking lot with the lights are impressive to see!! Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars is in the Florida heat of over 90 degrees there is no air conditioning, just a bunch of fans which aren't efficient enough to keep it cool inside. I've ordered pizza from here to go before but tonight was my first dining in experience. We sat at the bar and I will note that bar service was particularly slow all night. It was a slow, rainy night so service was a little disappointing given that it wasn't busy. We ordered the El Diablo and it was fantastic. The combination of sweet and spicy with the fatty meat and piped ricotta was perfection. Every pizza I've ever ordered from here was excellent as well. As we were leaving, I saw a large cockroach crawl across the bar and I'm so glad I saw this AFTER we ate. I would not have been able to eat if I saw this before. The restaurant is very open and bugs can come in which makes me cautious of ever ordering from this kitchen again. I loved the live music and this is definitely a great addition to downtown Safety Harbor but the cockroach was very off putting. read more

Stopped in here on a Saturday before the dinner rush. We were able to grab a table right away, and we had a very good waitress. The garlic knots were fantastic. Nice airy dough, covered in garlic, with a nice red sauce for dipping. We ordered a slice of cheese and a margarita pizza. Our food took close to an hour to come out. Our margarita pizza was burned on the crust and on the bottom of the pizza, which gave it a bitter taste, but our cheese slice was very good. For the delay and the burned pizza, our bill was discounted 50% after we didn't have time to wait for another pie, but that was greatly appreciated. We obviously didn't get this places best stuff during our visit, the restaurant went out of their way to right the situation, for that, we'll definitely stop back in when we're in the area, and I'll update my review accordingly. read more
