Place has a cool New York/New Jersey deli vibe, tons of cool boxing memorabilia in the front (including a Marvelous Marvin Hagler autographed photo Middleweight G.O.A.T.) You just can't mistaken the aroma of a bustling Italian kitchen---warm buttery-garlicky fragrances, tomatoes caramelizing in marinara, fresh bouquets of herbs... Let me backtrack a little: I was walking by Paul's Deli completely unawares, awaiting my lunch order from a nearby place when BAM!! My olfactory senses stopped me in my tracks! So I peeked in and saw the chef swiftly working the kitchen as he cracked jokes and carried on friendly banter with some long-time regulars. Charming :) Despite years of visiting this plaza, I never once noticed this firmly-established place before. So I did a quick Yelp search to see if any friends have been here and sure enough, top Yelp reviewer and trusty pal Aaron E. gave it his thumbs up. I was done for. So like a mesmerized moth to a flame, I fluttered over to the cashier's and, as if on auto-pilot, put in an order for dinner even though it wasn't even noon yet: "3 cannoli and a chicken fettuccine alfredo please!" (notice how I ordered the dessert first, haha) Bonus: the entrées come with garlic bread which is best immediately consumed. Wait too long and the bread will quickly turn chewy. Verdict: The cannoli from NYC's Farrara bakery were nicely crunchy, chilled and despite the abundance of chocolate chips, not too sweet. As for the chicken fettuccine alfredo, the pasta was perfectly cooked and there was an ample amount of cheese melted over heaps of tender white-meat chicken. However, the alfredo sauce had a pronounced twist to it---was it brandy or sherry? I wasn't much a fan, but I'm no Italian foodie expert either. Still good though! I will absolutely be returning to Paul's for more. Next up: the Italian sub and lasagna. This was definitely a memorable example of a gem hiding right under my nose, literally...just take a whiff! If this review was limited to the food only, it would be 5 stars. The food was delicious. Absolutely too-notch taste! However, we had two big problems with Paul's - waiting f o r e v e r for our order to be prepared was the first one. We phoned our order in and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. No problem, and not an inconvenience. We arrived in time for the 20 minutes we were told it would take and had to wait another 22 minutes. Irritating. Our sitting there for 22 minutes, doing nothing and looking around, led to the second big problem - the restaurant was filthy. I'm sorry but that's the only word that describes the level of uncleanness on the floor, tables, walls and counters. And I feel bad pointing this out because the guy behind the counter helping us out was so nice and friendly. And made us some delicious sandwiches But not enough attention is being paid to the hygiene side of the business. And for a restaurant, that's pretty important. I will probably return because the food was indeed delicious to be sure. And I will be hoping for speedier service but especially a cleaner experience read more

This was our favorite local place for Italian deli sandwiches. Our favorite was the chicken parmigiana sandwiches. We ordered 3 large today. My husband went and picked them up. When he got home and we unwrapped the sandwiches, we saw the chicken was just a round breaded patty that they cut in half and put in the bun with little sauce and cheese. They look like the breaded chicken patties you get from Costco. SOOOOO disappointing. They used to be so good, pieces of fried chicken, like actual pieces of chicken, not a patty with red sauce and cheese. The added disappointment was the three sandwiches cost us $48!!!! Will NEVER get again and if you love chicken parm sandwiches, I suggest nobody else does either. Very disappointed. read more

Everything was delicious and freshly made. The cannoli's were the perfect finishing touch, plus I got Spaghetti Alfredo to take home. EVERYTHING IS GOOD!!! It's really hard to find some decent Italian take out. But my god did this hit the spot. The cannoli didn't have time to pose for a photo before I devoured it. I've been to quite a few local Italian spots that just couldn't seem to get the recipe right. Either they tried to make it too fancy or added too much zest. The small cannolis here were perfect. The filling with the chocolate incorporated. The crunch on the cannoli shell was perfect and it had a lovely amount of seasoning in the dough. When I got this for takeout I didn't know it would have a side salad and bread with it. Everything was absolutely delicious when it was eaten fresh out of the kitchen. Stopped by yesterday with my boyfriend since he had a sandwich craving, I told him that Westminster has the best spot for sandwiches. He said, "I'll believe it when I eat it"...well ladies & gents the verdict is, HE LOVED IT! Paul's Deli is a well known spot to the locals & since I'm a Humana baby I can say I've enjoyed a sandwich from Paul's a few times. It has been awhile I come in & I'm so glad I did. Walking in just gave me a nostalgic vibe that had me in great vibes throughout the day. My boyfriend got the Paul House Sandwich & I got the Italian. We gave each other half of 1 another's sandwich to enjoy a slice of each & both were super delicious.
