Wow! I can't say enough nice things about my experiences here. I Purchased a new 115 hp Mercury pro outboard here. The ability to even find one let alone purchase a new outboard during this Covid season was nothing short of a miracle. Brad not only sold me a beautiful new engine but also was very competitive in his pricing, in fact with the lack of supplies he could have increased his price like everyone else but he gave a fair price. No gouging here. The installation went as scheduled and I was in the water as promised. They were able to help me with getting my mooring cover mended also at fair price. I am so pleased with the honesty and the friendliness of this business. The entire staff from the financing to the service and part department were so very patient and kind with me. I'm such a newbie at this kind of thing and could easily have been taken advantage of but that's not the experience I had. Thank you all very much for all you've done and continue to do for this new boater. I am enjoying my boat very much now that it has a new engine. Bought a new old boat from a private owner, broke in 3 weeks ( imagine that) took it to Paul's, they called me with a 2200.00 estimate. After going over it with them, I decided to go ahead. We both agreed it seemed like an ok boat. Had them do the work and had 4+ years of no hassle use from a 20 year old boat. Great to work with..honest ppl. The next boat had an odd shutoff problem, called and they helped me troubleshoot a common problem, bought the part, put in myself, and worked out well. Great guys in a sometimes tough business. After cleaning my boat carb and changing my gas lines it took me a year to figure out why my boat didn't have power. They were no help finding the problem, I don't even think they looked at it and then charged me more money. so I took it somewhere else, there was a wrong gas line connection, a chewed up spark plug wire from putting the lid on wrong and a missing jet from the carb. My biggest issue with Paul's Marine is their hours. If you own a boat you most likely have a job, so getting there between 9-5 is very difficult. They are also closed on Mondays as well. I called and spoke with I believe is the owner and his response was that I can call and they will leave the part outside to pick up, which is nice but, isn't why I am going to Paul's. I go there because of the information provided by their knowledgeable counter staff. If I don't get to actually talk to those guys, why pay more for a part that I still have to pick up. I might as well buy it online. It's less expensive plus, if I ordered it on Saturday, I will have it before Paul's is even open on Tuesday. This type of 1970's mentality is what is driving these useful small family business out of business. The owner told me everyone needs to be on board to stay open later. Sounds nice, but not convenient for customers. One more lost customer....suggestion- stagger your staff to accommodate later hours. I am not saying stay open 24-7. Would 6 or 7pm be too much to ask? Let the late person come in an hour or 2 later. If you don't keep up with the changes, the changes will run you over. read more
