I recently saw a review about babysitting and was holding off on my review until I read that one. That's the theme of this shop - babysitting, calling, waiting, no responses. I have had a few things done here and I've had to go back for every single thing to get it fixed. BMW - got my tint done based on a recommendation from a friend. The tint had dirt underneath it and smudges on the actual glass under the tint. They had to replace two panels. The whole process took about two weeks and multiple calls/emails. Jeep - got my rear bumper installed that came with backup LED lights. Got home and discovered that the wiring was wrong and my rear tail lights weren't working at all! They had to come to my driveway, since it wasn't safe to drive, and spend 4 hours fixing the wiring system to get them to work. I also had some ceramic tint installed on the jeep and had to bring it back in since they short cut the back panel. When I got it home after the 2nd tinting I had to trim that same back panel since they left about 2" of excess tint along the rear. When I rolled my passenger side window down (Didn't roll it down all winter) about 2 months later the cut along the window was jagged and didn't cover the whole window. I emailed their customer service to get it fixed a week ago and have had no response. They installed my light bar mount and stripped a bolt and damaged a mounting bracket on the bar. I waited 4 months and sent many emails to get it repaired and it finally happened. I won't be coming back here and I suggest you look elsewhere unless you have the time to keep coming back in to fix your installs. read more

Baby Sitter Alert! I ordered a cap for my truck and the sales person informed me it would be a six week lead time. I was ok with this and understood with Covid. At around week four, I called to check in and they informed me that the cap arrived. Baby Sit Moment 1 They said they would call me to schedule an install as soon as it arrived. The guy then informed me he could get this installed 4 weeks later. 4 WEEKS!!! I asked to speak to a manager and they then changed my time to the following week. I was happy once again. He told me to drop the truck off the night before and it would be installed in the morning. I dropped the truck off and to my surprise there was not a drop box for the key. I hid the key and left a phone message. This made me very nervous. Baby Sit Time -THE ENTIRE DAY I called right when they open and the guy grabbed the key and said give him a few hours to install. At 1:30 I arrived figuring I've given enough time and the truck was in the EXACT same spot I left it. Baby Sit - In Person Time I walked in raised my voice as now I was pissed. As of now they are installing it. Unless you want to babysit a company do not use this place. They do not call you back and run away when the sale is over. Also they don't wear masks and social distancing doesn't happen here. read more

I took my 2019 GMC sierra to them and had a level lift,wheels&tires, and step rails put on my truck costing a total of around 7k. When I got my truck back the front drivers side was making a scraping squeeking sound and I noticed the steering wheel was about 5 degrees off center (which was clearly a poor job doing my alignment.). I then had a nut and some other hardware fall off of the new upper control arm they installed on the passenger side. When I informed the manager he said he would fix it. They towed my truck to their shop for repairs. After they "FIXED" my truck I asked the manager for a partial refund on labor or store credit or anything for my troubles and but was blown off. I called twice to talk with him but he kept giving me the runaround and then told me both times he would call me back to talk about it with no returned call, surprise surprise. I'm selling the truck now cause I no longer trust the work that was done on my truck. read more

I stopped into this store because I was in need of some new tires on my Jeep. After looking around at all the options a person approached me and asked if I needed help. We discussed my options and I settled on his recommendation which was a Toya tire. After placing a deposit he told me they could get me in the following Tuesday. I was so excited! My tires were shot and I wanted that smooth ride I was promised! Tuesday came and I dropped off my Jeep. It was inconvenient but my husband was able to drive me to work. But they called me that evening to say it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday. The other two tires didn't come in as they thought. I was ok with that, but still had to be driven to Work another day. When Wednesday came and I still didn't get a call for pick up I called them. They told me again the tires didn't come in.. this was getting a bit much. The next day still no tires.. I told them I had to come pick up my Jeep without the tires and to call me when they were in. ( I'm not sure why they even told me to bring it in if they didn't have them to begin with!) so another week goes by. They have 700.00 of my money for a deposit, and still no word on these tires.. ugh Finally my husband calls them. Now we are losing patience with the whole thing. They finally say "Oh wow we just found them in the back room!! " sure they did!! Lol anyway the next day I drove over there wait for an hour and half and get my new tires.. what a long process. They are all friendly people and I feel like they have good intentions but they lack organization, and planning. Horrible!! I will be taking my business to another place for this point on. It's too bad, this place is so close to my house!! read more

Trails West has completed most of my upgrades on my Jeep since purchasing it factory in 2015. I have not had any problems with any of the work they have completed. This includes lift, 33"to 35" tires, drive shafts, and a few other items. They give terrific advice and do not upsell. They really know their Jeeps and are definitely my go to business for any questions or issues. read more

Received three estimates to have a suspension lift kit installed in my truck. Trails West not only provided an honest estimate over the phone but scheduled me too and were $300 cheaper than everyone else bc they also included a front end alignment! I brought my truck in, had a friend take me to lunch, and upon my return I waited maybe another hour and my truck was done. Trails West then mounted my new wheels and tires that I had purchased elsewhere and had my truck looking bada$$! read more

They did a great job fabricating mounting brackets for our little jeep on short notice. Most companies would have told me to go pound salt. Even though they are extremely busy and with suppliers not get them the parts they need. They took the time to help me. Very much appreciated!! read more

Great staff, walked in with some tire size questions, staff greeted me, answered my questions and wasn't pushy for a sale or trying to get me to buy on the spot, I will go back, I ended up getting some other items while in there but shop rates are great and employees are respectful and honest. Had Trails West replace factory head lights, front and rear bumpers. Had a really positive experience selecting the items and scheduled an install date. Dropped off the Jeep, then things went bad. They called on the day that I was supposed to pick up the Jeep to tell me the bumpers were back ordered. Why didn't they tell me before I dropped off the Jeep?? Then finally Jeep was ready and picked it up. Work was not done in a workmanlike manner. Really loud buzzing noice at the battery. They blamed it on a relay switch. Took the Jeep back bc it would take 5 mins to fix. Waited 2+ hours until finally the told me that they couldn't fix it. Ordered a new front bumper, which came in and was properly installed. They offered a $250 labor credit in consideration of how things went. 3 weeks later still chasing them down to issue the credit. Earlier comments on babysitting these guys is spot on. Had to push them hard to get the bumpers in, then install them correctly, not to issue a small credit that they promised. My advice, go somewhere else. read more

I didn't think it would be worth my time with the amount of online stores that sell similar things but the prices were very aggressive for the gear I wanted for my Jeep and the staff helped me with some recommendations based on their personal experiences. They even gave me a great deal on installing the parts too! All around it was a great experience and I'll be back once I'm ready for some more upgrades! read more

My husband had a lift kit installed on his truck about 5 months ago. The service was excellent! And he was completely happy! 5 months later and his power steering started to go out. He took it to the Toyota dealership who told him that it was due to the modifications he made to his truck. They wanted to charge him $3,200 for a new rack and pinion. They told him it was due to having to pull the engine block. So my husband decided to take it back to Trails West to get a second opinion. They lifted the tuck, and actually showed (not just told) him what was going on. Showed him another Toyota tuck that was getting to ready to be lifted. Showed him that the lift kit was not the cause. But better yet- They offered to take care of the problem. They order him in a a better rack for the power stealing, one with a warranty (the dealership one didn't have a parts warranty with it - who knew?) and installed it for less then half the cost the dealership would have charged. They had the truck one day. These guys are amazing and we will recommend them to everyone we know. Amazing job and amazing customer service! Thank you!! read more

This review is based on my personal experience from March 2019. My previous experience with the shop 20 years ago on a Chevy 6" lift was exceptional and the reason I took my current truck here to install a 4.5" lift to correct a poor 3:1 leveling kit from the previous owner of my Truck. I took my vehicle down for an inspection and spoke with the mechanic prior to purchasing the kit. I also mentioned that a Month Prior to I had all A-Arms and ball joints replaced, both front axles were new, and the wheel bearings were new. I had $2,000 in all new parts under the Front end. During the install of my lift I received a call from Trails West stating that the Lower Ball joints, Cam bolts, and Wheel bearings were shot, and the ABS Sensors were frozen in the Spindles. They were correct on the Cam bolts and Abs sensors. I authorized them to replace the ball joints because at this point who do you believe ? My mechanic or a shop I have done good business with in the past ? Obviously someone wasn't being truthful to me. When they called about the wheel bearings I told them to stop and only finish what they were paid to install, pertaining to the lift. I drove the truck home and took it to a Toyota Dealership to confirm all the photos I had received from my Mechanic and Trails West. Attached I have included both photos of the Wheel bearings. The photos Trails west supplied were according the Dealership NOT the assembly that belongs on my Truck. So judge for yourself it is my belief that there were certain items that were being Upsold to me that did not need replaced. I also had the used ball joints inspected that were deemed bad that again all these parts were only a Month old. I should also mention the Ball joints that were installed in the truck prior too were Moog A-Arms with the greaseable ball joints for 110.00 and Trails West purchased just the Autozone Duralast Sealed Ball joint with no A-arm for 100.00. I would like to say that I feel the Mechanic that installed the lift did as I expected from my previous dealings and have no complaints with his ability to perform quality work. I feel that the management has changed since my last dealings with the company and honestly feel I was being drained for more money than was necessary. read more

I am posting this as a FYI for folks who may want to visit this shop. Not a word of what I have said below is false or an exaggeration. I took my Jeep for repairs to this place on recommendation from a member of Wrangler Forum. To summarize my experience - never again will I visit this place or recommend it to anyone. And here is why: They diagnosed the jeep and recommended changing out control arms bushings, track bar, ball joints and tie rod ends. I agreed to doing the work, left the car with them for an entire day 9-5pm and they assured me that'll be more than enough time to finish the work. When I got there at 5pm to pick it up, they told me they only had half of the work done. Not only had I never see this kind of unprofessionalism, but I was also pretty upset that they never bothered to even call me ahead of time to tell me that. To top it off, the service manager had told me in the morning that I must get all the work done, or the issue wont get fixed, and I had agreed. When I got there to pick up the car, they did a U-turn and said that the issue should be fixed with only half the work that they had done. I wonder what epiphany they had. I then agreed to bring it back to finish the work. Again, I rented a car to go to work, after I left the car with them at 9am. And I asked them to call me if they had any new discover or issues. I never heard from them. I got there at 5pm, only to find out that they had left out the control arm work. So it took them 8hrs to change the tie rod ends and fix a small differential leak. So much for being a rather well-known and reputed 4x4 superstore. Ended my evening with a heated argument, and they grudgingly gave me a refund of $80. I left the shop utterly disappointed and pledged never to go there again. As I reflected on this episode, I came to believe that this was all done on purpose, and they never had any intention to complete the work on my car. I have my suspicions on why that could be, but I won't voice them on this forum. And it doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is that they were the most unprofessional and discourteous service folks I have met in my life. End of story. read more
