Greeted with a big happy smile and patience while we studied the breakfast menu. We ordered a breakfast burrito and the pancake combo. My grandson barely finished the burrito and gave a thumbs up. My wife and I shared the Pancake Combo which I barely finished. Yes we shared, and still more than enough. The pancakes were excellent, the scrambled eggs perfect the bacon was maybe the best I ever had - well done and crispy and not greasy. The salsa was the best. Oh did I mention the coffee was excellent with continuous refills. Some might call the a clean little hole in the wall, small restaurant, but the people love what they do and the customers love it too. I found this on a Yelp review looking for a place close to the Soccer Tournament nearby. The reviews were right on and when I am even close to Oceanside, I am going to visit again. They recently repainted the exterior so I can't say, "Don't judge this place by its looks." It's one of my favorite places to eat and a good alternative to what Pit Stop down the street offers when you want to quickly get food through a drive thru. I'm not q person to talk crap on mom n pop spots but today whoever the young girl was that was working maybe should of stayed home or called in sick or maybe tell daddy not today. My wife put in an order, I show up to pay but first ask about taquitos and time it would take to get em done...cashier responds that it won't take long at all. Get the order go home and no taquitos noir any extra food. I drive back, miscommunication, cashier thought I asked for fries, it happened and I put in a taquitos order no problem. Get home never got extra fries. I call and let em know and the girl that packed the food says she did put in the fries and says what you want me to do about it? I don't know maybe offer me some fries!? I go back and the young girl, not the cashier continues to call me out, saying she packed it but we didn't. Why would I bother over some fries? Before i go into depth about this place let me just say I'm a regular customer and over time this place has become one of my least favorites in the valley and heres why. The owner Vicky is very rude and stingy, customer service to her is nothing she has told me "customers are nothing" to my face ive asked for extra ranch and she charges me a ton every single time very stingy!!! when something is wrong with my order and ask her kindly to fix it she throws the bag at me when we are done. customer service is key to me. Second behind the counter is disgusting if you saw the nasty buckets of water and other gross things you would be very disturbed. The good news 1st: The menu is huge, and they certainly did not skimp on the Avocado. Now the bad: The burger patties and the fries were the cheap pre-made, pre-packaged kind. Been coming here a lot of years. It's a standard mom-n-pop fast food place (used to be a Del Taco back in the day), run by a Greek family for about 20 years. If you're familiar with Oceanside's Angelo's chain, you'll find the menu here familiar: giant hamburgers, gyro, fried zucchini, fish 'n chips, Greek salad. Not bad, but not fantastic; usually Paul's is our family's Sunday night "I don't feel like cooking - want a grilled ham 'n cheese?") go-to. If you get their chicken tenders make sure you ask for ranch, they automaticly put BBQ sauce which is good too but their ranch dressing pairs perfectly with their tenders. Ive been dining here for the past 2 years because I work down the street. The food is actually not bad, some of it is really good like the bacon avocado burger (which I might have tomorrow for lunch). The service is preatty good, especially from Sarah, she works the counter and the drive through. She's always been very nice, funny and courteous while I'm there. The place could use a paint job or some exterior power washing. This place even takes orders over the phone and its ready very quickly...I always order ahead before going on break and it saves me like ten minutes of my break. I eat here pretty often - I have never, NEVER gotten a wrong order, the food is always still hot when I get it home and tastes exactly as it should. Pastrami burger is super bomb, and the onion rings are extremely tasty. Price may seem high, but when compared to the amount of food you can get at McD's or BK across the street, Paul's is a much more satisfying alternative (for your taste buds and your wallet). Also, the BBQ sauce is delicious. As far as breakfast goes, I have had the breakfast burrito (huge! And good ratio of bacon-egg-potato-cheese) and the chorizo and eggs - also delicious. In addition, Paul's Place doesn't make my insides feel like they're being ripped out of my body (as they do when I consume McD's/BK/Jack/etc etc etc.). Horrible experience, my burger was not done, I asked the head waitress if I could get a new one? She took the burger to the back counter where the cook, drive thru person and herself proceeded to lift the the bun and look at the patty to see if it was done. At this point, I am furious.. The cook took the same patty threw it on the grill wrapped it in new bun and the waitress tried to give it to Me.
