We waited about 25 minutes on a holiday weekend and the food and service were well worth the wait. Our server knew the menu inside and out and made great suggestions. The Corned Beef Hash and Eggs is outstanding. You get an absolute ton of fantastic fresh corned beef, homestyle potatoes, and eggs. If you like corned beef, you simply must order this dish. You get a side with it and I ordered the excellent and very moist coffee cake. The Killer Burrito is monster-sized. It comes with ground beef, chilies, eggs, and other goodies. It is not a traditional breakfast burrito and I was a little nervous about the ground beef but as far as flavor goes, it was very good. The Greek omelet was not my personal favorite (and I didn't order it) but it came as delivered, with spinach, onions, feta cheese, and more. We tried this one with a potato pancake. The pancake is not a traditional one but it still had a lot of flavor. Personally, I preferred the homestyle potatoes. If it is appropriate for your meal, ask for the fresh salsas. This place is wonderful. Service is always great. Food is always tasty and they have a number of spicy items which appeals to my particular pallet. They have two homemade salsa, one that is like a salsa Fresca and the other that is called harbor salsa, which is made with habaneros. I of course get the second one. I put Harbor salsa on everything. If you come here Monday through Friday, they usually have a daily deal. It's just less expensive and it comes with two sides. Today I had the sausage and cheese scramble with hashbrowns and biscuits. It's always very full so it could be a little noisy, but that's just like any restaurant. Post 5k run we wanted to celebrate with breakfast and decided Beach Break Cafe was the spot! I was very excited to try the banana crunch French toast. I love bananas and french toast, so this was the perfect choice. It was sweet but not sickeningly sweet. The bananas were very ripe, but I personally enjoy them this way. The crunch looks to be an oat and crushed nut mixture? I wasn't too sure but it was delicious nonetheless. Everything tasted very good, I enjoyed my side of hash browns, however I prefer them to be a little crunchier. They tasted great regardless. I will say they were superrrr busy, so do expect to wait if you go on a weekend morning. I think they might use bleach to clean the tables, which I'm glad they disinfect between patrons but the table smelled like bleach the whole time, so if that's something that bothers you, maybe ask to sit inside? I think the tablecloth material just holds onto scent idk. Service wasn't the best either, but they were packed so I understand. We've been coming here for awhile now as it has quickly become one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. I love these types of restaurants over chain stores like Dennys or Ihop, food is so much better. This one in particular has the BEST dang coffee cake I've ever had. If I lived closer I'd happily come here for a coffee and slice of coffee cake a few times a week. The veggie sandwich is also delicious, along with the oatmeal, and even the french fries! To top it off, its about a 5 min drive to the beach so its a perfect morning to grab some breakfast and head to the shore to walk it off. The only reason I didnt put a full 5 stars is because the last time we went it was pretty hard to get our server for refills and missing items, but usually its they're on top of things so it wouldn't keep us from returning. My family and I came from out of town to visit for a few days and came across this spot on Yelp. Food 7.5/10 We ordered the Killer Burrito which had ground beef, eggs, bacon, and guacamole. Crispy and well seasoned. The salsa they have was not our favorite. Reminded us of the Tostitos chunky salsa you get from the grocery store. We also ordered the Banana Crunch French Toast. First time here to one of our friends' favorite breakfast spots. Seated right away on a Monday morning on the back porch. I saw potato pancakes and coffee cake on the menu so wanted to try a breakfast item. When I think potato pancakes I think either shredded or mashed potatoes with mix ins to hold them together. So I told her I only wanted the two egg and she said she could take it back and get a two egg or just eat what you can I said OK. Then when we got the bill I was charged for a whole omelette, but I did tell the guy who picked up the tab and he took two dollars off. I hate wasting food and I thought I'd communicated fine. I love chili Verde omelettes, but this one was on the spicy side more for my husband than me. The potatoes were a little on the mushy side. The fruit was pretty good. I took pictures because I love surfing and loved all the surf paraphernalia. In the bathroom, they had so many neat murals all over the wall. I used to be a big brunch person but over the years I have had a lot of disappointing experiences. Now it's rare I go anymore. A friend had a doctors appointment she needed a ride to so I happily obliged. After the appointment she wanted to go get breakfast and this was her choice. We were seated in a big cushy booth and coffee was offered immediately. We both obliged. The menu is pretty extensive so we did have a bit of a hard time deciding everything sounds so good. Prices are reasonable comparably. Our server came back to check on us multiple times while we were trying to decide. Finally, we decided to split the Greek omelet and for our two sides, we each got a piece of coffee cake that my friend had raved about. While we waited, I continued to look around at all the different memorabilia on the wall walls. It's very cool. Our food came quickly and it was very tasty. The omelette had just the right amount of tomatoes and herbs and cheese. While the coffee cake was absolutely as she had described. It was a nice size as well. Our server kept our coffee full and continued to check on us. Late breakfast, early lunch, we will call it brunch. There were 6 of us and we were given a comfortable booth towards the back of the restaurant. Drink order taken followed by the food order. Everyone opted for breakfast: I ordered the ABC Omelette with crispy hash browns and rye toast, my wife ordered the eggs with hash browns and a slice of coffee cake, my daughter ordered the beach break toast with 2 eggs and a bowl of fruit, my son-in-law opted for the scramblatta with hash browns and tortilla, youngest granddaughter had the short stack of pancakes and oldest granddaughter had the French toast with a side of bacon. Pretty much every plate was cleared but the youngest who only managed to devour half her pancakes with the other half boxed to go. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and portions were generous. The entire bill which also included 2 coffees and a juice came to about $139 which did include tax and 20% tip. Good price in California. Service was outstanding. The restaurant was full yet orders were expedited quickly and servers were friendly and personable. I highly recommend Beach Break Cafe for breakfast, lunch or like in our case brunch. I loved this place! Always passed by but my mom suggested going here on Tuesday around 11:30, busy but no wait. Ordered the corned beef with med eggs and a side pancake. WOW! They have 2 types of fresh homemade salsa and Tobasco! The salsas were perfect, the less spicy one cut some of the saltiness of the corned beef. I love fresh corned beef over canned and not too many places do it well, this one does it perfectly! The potatoes were perfect, too. Oh and the pancake was so good. Perfect salty/sweet combo. One of the better breakfast options in Oceanside. Located right on HWY 101 it's not very far from the ocean and carries that casual, beachy feel to the restaurant. It's quite large on the inside with many different sitting areas as well as covered outdoor seating, which is where we sat for our breakfast. There is a large free parking lot in back so parking was really easy. Our waiter was also very polite and the service was very fast. Only downside was we had to wait about 30 mins to be seated for a party of 4 for our Saturday morning brunch. For my first visit I chose the Santa Fe Scramble and loved it. The chorizo was perfectly spicy and it was a large sized portion. I opted for the free Coffee Cake on the side and thought it was one of the best Coffee Cakes that I have had in a very long time. It was moist and full of cinnamon flavor and the glaze on top was warm and just mixed so well with it. I would not miss it! Overall a great breakfast spot. We got one waitress upon sitting down but then someone else showed up 5 minutes later and after that person told us they were going on break, the original girl showed up again.
