First time visiting the Pavilion rooftop bar for a drinks and appetizers. Beautiful rooftop views overlooking Charleston water front! They have a nice variety of drink specials and delicious appetizers! We had the shrimp and mango salsa and the flatbread pizza special. Both were very delicious! Service was excellent too! We will be back!

View | Pool | Thai Chili View--The view is the main attraction of the Pavilion Bar. It's on top of a hotel, and you have 270-degree views of Charleston. You can see the water, cruise ships, and all the bridges. Pool - the hotel's pool isn't very large. It is a sitting area for about 12 people by the pool where you can get in up to your waist to get wet. It's right by the bar, which is nice in some ways and inconvenient in some ways. The main issue with the pool sitting area is that it doesn't have a great separation from the bar. Therefore, if you're a bar patron, you're inconveniencing people; if you're at the pool, you feel inconvenienced by people at the bar. Thai Chili--We grabbed drinks and fries in the vegetable spring rolls as an appetizer before dinner at a different location. The fries in the vegetable rolls were good, but the highlight for both was the Thai chili sauce, which was pretty fantastic on both, so we highly recommend that. Pro tip: The spring rolls are fried; therefore, if you think they are a traditional type of spring roll, they are not, so be prepared. Pro tip: There is hardly any parking, so add 10-15 minutes to your travel time. Should you get parking? It's probably better if you walk, especially if you're going anywhere in the downtown area. Pro tip: don't go into the pool the pool had birds all day flying in and out of it playing in it. Therefore it isn't the cleanest place. Why not five stars? - It was solid not amazing. It was pretty standard for rooftop hotel bars. Great view, but the food wasn't spectacular. The drinks were good not spectacular. Therefore, in such a culinary town, it's a place that is nice to go, not a place that you have to go.

Great view and great food! It's a fun vibe for a warm evening. Steak kabob and whipped beet dip.

Solid martini with the best unobstructed rooftop views. We really wanted to see the water and the boats- and this spot had it all. Also their pool area that you sit around is charming. Just a wonderful place to pause and enjoy !! Service from Berk was amazing- he was literally single handedly taking care of 10 tables without skipping a beat. Impressive !!!!

Great views of Charleston on top of the Market Pavilion Hotel. Nice seating with clear dividers. Drink are strong but good. Had a flat bread as a snack while taking in the beautiful views. Service is what made this a 4 star and not a 5.

Pavillion Punch - essentially a hurricane or pirate's punch. Very tasty but over-priced at $15

I had friends visiting from Australia this weekend. They had few requirements when I asked what activities they'd like to do, but among the 'musts' was a visit to a rooftop bar. Market Pavillion Bar has seen several menu changes in the last few years. Covid changed the landscape of offerings, so I get it. I used to enjoy the duck nachos, but the days of fun appetizers and swizzle drinks at this venue are long gone. I took my friends up here for the view. It didn't disappoint. But after four Dirty Bird Martinis and a couple of Pavillion Punches, we were well over $100 without food. I still want to love this place, but I cannot get past the fact that other venues can 'achieve the pour' for less money and still turn out a good drink. What I do know is that if you want to pay for a view, this is the place to check out, even if it's only for one cocktail, before moving on to the next venue.

Have been here a couple times & have had the same experience. Stunning view of Charleston & nice atmosphere. Tonight it took almost 30 mins to get 2 vodka sodas from 1 of 3 servers. It wasn't packed but busy - but only one older bartender who moved at a slow pace unless you were AT the bar. Then we had to chase down the server for our check that took another 30mins. Never checked on us once after he dropped our drinks. Overall just sad their service is so poor. And the bathrooms were filthy & the doorknobs were falling off!

We stopped by for something to eat after walking around town and we are happy we found this place. It is up on the roof with a nice view. The service was very good and really enjoyed everything we ordered. They were all so yummy!

Best roof top views in Charleston! Order the Tuna Tower; don't look at the price. Just get it! It's loaded with fresh ahi tuna and local CHS crab! Then order yourself a Sweet Tea Martini Enjoy the views and impeccable service. We come here every single time we are in Charleston.

Amazing experience! Staff is wonderful as always I come here often and it never disappoints. Great food and great drinks with an amazing view of the bridge. This is a seat yourself rooftop so seating can be limited if you come at a busy time but you can always get a drink from the outside bar and wait for a table to open up but hands down always a great experience!

This is a true example of hidden in plain site! I have traveled to Charleston, SC many times in the past 20 years but it wasn't till recently I discovered this roof top bar! The drinks are delicious but the ambiance and views are worth noting. If you're everything walking down East Bay Street trying to find a place during happy hour, hop on the elevator to the roof top bar!

It was easy & we loved our lunches! I chose the double smash burger which was so delicious and filling! Loved it! Hubs chose the Cobb chicken salad and he loved it! Ate every bite & reports that the chicken was fried perfectly without too many clumps or batter lumps. We would absolutely come back for brunch items! Cool things: the bathroom wallpaper was epic, outside they have a water cooler with cups for self help access & a dog bowl for those who bring their pups. Loved that!

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.

Don't let the name deter you if you are not a gin person because they have many options with different types of liquors. One tip: sit at the bar if you can, the set up is stunning especially for taking photos! The cocktail menu was moderately extensive with two full pages of complex and simple cocktails. Honestly, it was so difficult to choose what drink to get because I wanted to get everything on the menu. The bartenders were so attentive and talented - their implementation of each cocktail was even better than the menu descriptions. Not only were the drinks delicious but also beautifully presented. They have some bar bites as well as quite a few small and large plates, we got the pretzels which to my absolute surprise were so good! You can tell the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. The surprise star of the night, though, was the grilled cheese. Calling it a grilled cheese almost feels unfair because this thing was next-level. Perfectly crisp on the outside, rich and gooey on the inside, and paired with the cocktails so well that we were talking about it long after we left. Sometimes the simplest thing on a menu ends up stealing the show. The atmosphere strikes that perfect Charleston balance of classy, cozy, and effortlessly cool. Great service, great drinks, and one of the most memorable grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. If you're in Charleston and appreciate a serious cocktail program, The Gin Joint is a must-visit. If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time.
