I was sent to Pav to get 2 more birthday balloons for our twin toddlers 3 year bday, because the balloons my wife got the day before looked flat. It was a young Caucasian guy at the floral dept. I found the same 2 balloons and asked to buy them. He said he'd top them off with helium. I saw the price-wow!, I told him I didn't know these could be topped off. I asked if I could come back with my 2 balloons and get them topped off. He said sure, checked the price of helium and quoted me $13/balloon to top them off ($26 for 2). I really began to feel bad at that point. My wife spent $40 on those 2 balloons and $120 total for bday decorations, and this guy wanted to charge me $26 more to make them look nice. I was so offended. I don't know what this kid thinks my time is worth but if I'm willing to go home and get them and bring them back, I'm not paying a grand total of $66 for 2 balloons. I cut them off our bundle and called for a managed. I would give 1 star but Craig - an assistant manager at least was apologetic. The damage is done. Bday part was ruined because my day was ruined by an idiot who thought charging me $13/balloon that I had overpaid for in the first place to make the balloons presentable was a good idea. I'm a physician and customer service is #1. Make things right. It's not always about generating revenue. I love that Pav but sheesh. All it takes is one bad experience.... read more

When I started coming to LA, Pavilions was "the" store to buy groceries. I used to buy all my stuff here for years (Ralphs was a bit like the poor mans version of it). Then, Ralphs dramatically improved while this particular store declined at unbelievable pace. Today I went again - and it appears that my experience is not an expiation but standard: I waited unbelievable 20 mins until someone bothered to show up and serve at the fresh fish station. Many others had left - but my wife fell in love with a beautiful piece of sea bass they had on offer - so I - loving my wife so much that I would overcome my lack of patience - stayed. The quality is nice - but the service needs an overall overhaul - especially their bathrooms, as my wife says she has not seen one this filthy in years. A shame really. EDIT: we gave them another chance - and went again, and it was worse. We will sure not go there again. read more

The deli and sandwich section here is atrocious, the managers should be ashamed of how nothing is prepared, I was told by the guy here to go get my own roll from the bakery to use for a sandwich. Absolute worst grocery store I've ever been to and that is saying a lot. They have 3 front doors the only one that works is the one furthest away from the nightmare parking lot. I've been to other Pavillions and don't recall my other experiences this unpleasant. You can get your essentials knowing that it's cheaper elsewhere. They only reason I was here with my boyfriend is because we received a $100 gift card and there was no Vons in sight. We didn't do a full grocery shop but just got few basics, which quickly became $60. The customer service lacked sincere friendliness. The unenthusiastic "Hi, how are you doing?" was unnecessary if you are going to quickly pass by and not hear my answer or see my smile back. This was recurrent amongst three staff members. It wasn't a busy day but no one was there to kindly load the bags in our cart. We did it ourselves like Food 4 Less minus the lower prices. The customers were rude too. I was hit by two carts with no apology or "excuse me." We were even considering buying other gift cards with this gift cards because we just were not feeling this store. I guess we'll spend the $36 left on the gift card on alcohol at another Pavillons location. read more

This is a smaller Pavillions, which I've never had an issue with, but I went to the floral department to purchase a lei and a dozen roses for my daughters graduation. I asked if clerk if she could rewrap and arrange the dozen roses nicer and put a ribbon on it. At the Pavillions in Culver City on Jefferson they do this for a 20% mark-up and they make it look really nice (re-arrange flowers, nicer plastic, brown paper and curled ribbon). The clerk proceeded to pull off the plastic the roses were in and just put a piece of brown paper around the flowers and tied some paper ribbon on it - done. She didn't arrange (stagger the stems and make it nice like the Culver City location) - she just left the rubber band on and added the brown paper. She also didnt give me the option to pay the 20% for the extra time. She just didn't want to put any effort in and just wanted me gone. This is my fault for thinking every floral department is the same. I'll keep going to Culver City. The floral department clerk was nice and accommodating and cared about her work product. Then I tried to check out and the self check out Need Assistance light came on and me and another man waited almost 10 minutes for someone to come over and help us. Noone even looked at us to say "give us a minute" or "someone will be right with you". Everyone just ignored us. Super weird. read more

Short story: Employee: Find everything OK today? Me: No, I couldn't find (I list 5 different items) Employee: Huh. We usually have all that stuff. Me: Sure... Long story: The three ways to look at a grocery store are selection, service and price. Pavilions, with their online deals, can really save you money. Those items, specific to whatever is on sale, will be in stock. The rest...completely hit or miss. This is either the smallest "supermarket" or largest convenience store I've ever visited. You'd be surprised at what they stock and don't stock. Now, on to service: Polite, but ALWAYS a step behind. In some cases, particularly the deli, I'd say 10-20 feet behind. Considering the Ralphs location nearby (which I've also reviewed) is the worst supermarket in the country, you'd think this would be Safeway's chance to completely dominate the neighborhood, particularly the southern part of Beverly Hills. But, it's just half-assed, half-sized, half-caring. read more

I had a very bad experience yesterday at my local Pavilions. I had my freebie on my app for the Signature Select 16 oz Peanuts. The only one left were the honey roasted. I started to ask checker Robyn if these were included and if not if they could be substituted. Robyn was helpful and said they could be. Maria, the night manager overheard and without coming over or looking at the peanuts raised her voice and said, "No substitutions. The offer expires tomirrow. Come back tomorrow." She did not check to see this was their store brand and was the 16 oz freebie. I put the items back in the cart and left to go to Ralphs. This is the second time Maria has been rude. This is not the behavior of a manager. I was upset and had to go back in as left my cell in the cart. I verified with Robyn that it was Maria. Robyn said yes and she was sorry. I called the customer service # and a very helpful Michael wrote up my complaint. He apologized and said it was up to the cashier, Robyn to make the decision. The cashier can substitute. Maria should not have interfered. When I described the brand "Signature Select 16 oz Honey Roasted" he said it was the FREEBIE. It did not have to be the plain peanuts. Maria was wrong to interfere and she was wrong not to check. He noted a previous complaint 4 months ago about Maria. How does someone who is so rude to customers get to be called a manager? Other customers have been treated badly by her and posted on Yelp. I stopped going to Pavilions because of her. I went back and had good service with Moe and Edgar and had called the Manager to say good things about Edgar. Very disappointing that the B H Pavilions has someone presenting as manager who is so rude. They are losing business. read more

Yeah, the store is small. Yeah, the door arrangement is weird - you can only enter after walking past the flowers/plants. There is covered parking. The employees are excellent - when I went to ask if there was fresher bread; they had warm bread just out that I was able to get. Score! The main reason for the 3-star, ok, rating is because of the small store - don't expect to come here and find everything you'll want. I live on Olympic/Roxbury and this store has always been on my way home from work and is the closest grocery store to me therefore it defaults as my grocery store. This store suffices for my essentials and the staff is very kind and welcoming. However, I usually have a higher expectation for a Pavilions, especially in Beverly Hills, than I would for a Vons. The aesthetics and visuals of this store is pretty outdated. This store is lacking in a lot of aspects due to its small size. There's no bakery; they lack most of the exquisite baked goods that I would shop at a Vons for such as cheesecake and the hot food deli is usually understaffed and rarely has chicken tenders which is what I usually pick up for dinner on my way home. There are a lot of empty shelves and small selection of products throughout the store in every department. But at the end of the day, I can somewhat rely on this grocery store for my bare essentials and necessities at the prices I'm used to. I just wish I could get everything that every other Pavilions and Vons carries with a little bit of extra flair that I get from every other Pavilions. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in the area. Its selection is ~okay. But the staff have always been helpful and quick to figure things out when they've come up. I often plan my shopping around sale items -- sometimes they run out, and sometimes the system doesn't work perfectly, but staff like Edgar have always been quick to solve problems and the managers Linda and Maria have always been kind and helpful. I think they've all been working here since I moved back to the area back in 2013. Time flies.. The weekly ads usually have some pretty good deals -- this week I got a digital coupon for $1.50 Safeway Select ice cream, and the store was offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal, so I somehow got two full-sized cartons of ice cream for $1.50. That's about as good as it gets. If you go in with a set shopping list and ignore the weekly flier, this place is on par with other markets for most meats and veggies. Depending on the cut, beef will run ~$4-20/lb (~london broil to filet). Tomatoes ~$0.99 to $4/lb (roma to organic heirloom). Same for holiday sale items -- it's the week of Memorial Day 2020 and value-packs of 80/20 ground beef are $3.03/lb. That's not the cheapest around, but it's pretty close. They had extra lean 96/4 ground beef on sale today for $4/lb. If I had one complaint, it would be that milk selection was historically pretty rough -- in the past, this store would sometimes completely run out of 1% or 2% milk. But -- it hasn't been a problem in at least the past few months. I think they fixed it? If it wasn't for this place, I don't have another market I'd consider a friendly / regular spot. Unfortunately all the reviews are accurate. I went to this place and shopping carts were all over the parking lot. I went in to find almonds and for the life of me I could not find any. The only ones I could find were sliced almonds and there was no customer service people there who could point me into the right direction. I feel bad because I get a sense that the employees are not happy there. I came in here because I had an appointment close by. I will not be returning. I have been coming here for 3 years and I have had mixed ideas about this store. However, I really feel the manager Linda has made a big difference in a good way. I'm not sure if she has been there all along, or only within the last year. But her efforts really show. I also want to say thank you to Seth in produce for helping me. I needed some empty boxes and he was able to provide me with some. He was efficient and pleasant, and I was able to get back to work and still eat my lunch with time to spare. Doesn't matter what time I've been there, the staff is still genuinely nice. Store is always clean as is the parking lot. Their fruit selection could be better but the quality is very good. I love their Friday specials. Such good deals, especially when their chicken tenders are $5/lb :) Beware of the managers special steaks though. I bought 2 yesterday and 1 tasted like it had been marinated in fish juice :( ruined my dinner and ended up in the trash. Threw away the other one too, didn't want to take a chance. Poor cow. While waiting in line, I noticed how rude the hispanic woman making the sandwich was to her customers. These employees need to find themselves another job, its called customer service. If you cant do your job right, QUIT AND LEAVE. This store has a limited selection of products. The store suffers from continual lapses in management oversight. During 5-7 PM hours, there are usually extreme lags at checkout. At times there are 40 people in line, with checkout times taking 20 minutes before a new cashier is added. There is a female manager who properly runs the store, but when she is gone, the store is in absolute chaos, with employees pretending to be the store manager if you want to complain. Recent cashier hires are terrible and appear miserable to be doing their jobs. Avoid this place unless you need a few items in the morning. If you see long lines when you enter, just leave at that point, you will be glad you did. read more

From the checkers to the bag boys to the customers everyone in the store is irritated. I think they're understaffed, which leads to everyone being overworked. So this is my neighborhood supermarket. It is about two blocks away, at the corner of Beverwil and Olympic Boulevard. Instead of a supermarket, think of it as a giant 7-Eleven with supermarket stuff in it. They are limited in items, BUT, there are a lot of conveniences here for this boutique-style supermarket. First of all, they make amazing sandwiches and Panini's at the café during the day and early evening. They also just started serving "street tacos," reminiscent of the ones from the Kogi truck! These "street tacos" are like eating them off a taco truck, $5.49. Get them while they're hot! The cashiers here have longevity and I have known many that have worked here for several years just from going in and then greeting me. Gloria has a huge big mouth, but warm friendly and always says hello and carries on small talk as she brings my purchases. Alice is probably my most favorite, very conscientious, ethical and really nice to all of the patrons who she checks out. Jessica, is one of the managers and is very sweet, quiet, young and very pretty. I love coming to this place and one of the coolest things is that they are open until 1 AM for your late-night munchies. It is also close to many Beverly Hills hotels, so you can save money instead of ordering room service. Oh wait, I forgot you're staying in a nice Beverly Hills Hotel. It's a GREAT place! read more

I am not a supermarket lover but this one is fine; perhaps the not my favorite Pavillions because the choice in imported products lacks some of my favorite exotic food items. I take off a star for the prices that you really have to keep an eye on because some things that you wouldn't expect (like a mango) can be very expensive! I had no problem with the staff. Service was pleasant, they were nice. The food is always pretty fresh. I have never seen something past date or close to it on the shelves. If you need to stop by for some essentials, why not. However, for a full restocking of your fridge, you may want to find a cheaper market. read more

After their remodel the front of their store outside by the parking lot smelled like raw sewage for months, so since this problem has apparently been fixed I'll bump it up from 1 star to 5. -Despite what the other reviewer said, the staff here are extremely pleasant, friendly, courteous and efficient, and I've been shopping here for 10 years (not just once) and say that with long term credibility. -The prices here are hit or miss, pay special attention. Their product sometimes has the best price in town (like Pom Pomegranate juice for $2.50) or the absolute worst (like Northern 3-ply toilet paper for $8.99 or Guerrero flour tortillas for $5.49, pllllleeaase!). Prices are set by corporate so it's not their fault. Parking is ample. The store is clean and well stocked. Don't ever expect to find a rotisserie chicken after 8pm, they need to work on that! This Pavilions is pretty small, and doesn't have a lot of my personal favorites. They sell alcohol, produce, premade meals, etc but I was hoping to find my face moisturizer options like I do at larger Pavilion locations. I love the nourish bowls which are in the refrigerated section and consist of kale, veggies, and salsa/cheese, etc. The staff is very friendly. Bags for your groceries cost 10 cents. If you ask them to double bag then the second bag is free so that's a money saver. The alcohol selection is pretty standard, they have all alcohol but less options than larger Pavilions locations. Parking is great here. There is an open lot as well as a covered structure right outside the store. There have always been more than enough spots whenever I have gone and it is free! read more

I have been going to this Pavilions for years and for some reason stopped. Then recently the girl friend needed some food shopping done and this is her store of choice. Like any good boyfriend (who really has no interest in going shopping in the first place) you go with. Once walking into the supermarket and i use the term very loosely, i remembered why i stopped getting food here. The place is small and the people that work there could really careless. Listening to the loud speaker of people calling out names of employees and how many times they have attempted to contact them (outdated system and who cares how many times you have tried to get in touch with them), the cashier had her one word answers to every question (wont name names as that is simply not a nice thing to do). the Manager seems uneducated as you explain your frustration with short answers and his response is...what is a short answer. needless to say, myself and the girlfriend will no longer be shopping at this pavilions...there are simply too many other supermarkets so close by to deal with that kind of customer service. read more

He mumbles again. Realizing he is speaking to me, I ask him to repeat a little louder. He asks if I know the price. No, I don't but they're only 15 yards from where he's standing. Forrest wasn't running...too busy using his frown muscles. I don't know what management is doing, but it's clear they've checked out...faster than anyone else will. They're close to where I live. Dear Linda the "supervisor", Her exact words: "On the sign posted outside, only dogs accompanying people who are blind or in a wheelchair are allowed in." ^^ There are more disabilities that therapy dogs help with other than being blind and in a wheelchair. Her exact words: "This is a food store and dogs have fleas." ^^I wasn't aware that dogs belonging to blind people or those in a wheelchair are immune from having fleas. (Also, my dog doesn't have fleas.) Her exact words: "The dogs are required to wear the vest." ^^NO, they are NOT required to. Me: This is a therapy dog who has been trained to help me with a specific task. Her: What is the task? Me: She is able to alert me to sounds that I might not otherwise notice. I normally go to Ralph's or Bristol Farms on Doheny, but this place is much closer to my home, so it is more convenient sometimes, but probably not anymore. This is a smaller neighborhood Pavilions. If you want a full-service "super" Pavilions, head to the one on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. You will find smaller versions of all the amenities at the full-service stores: olive bar, deli, bakery, etc. Unfortunately, there is no self-service check out area. read more

The cashier forgot to give me the cashback that I opted for when I checked out and paid via debit card. I came back a couple hours later to let them know, and the cashier (big black lady) embarrassed me in front of all the customers who were in line by talking very loudly and calling me a liar. She suggested the manager go through security footage to show proof of her giving me my money but never did. I left feeling bullied and was really upset at how I was treated. read more

I really like it here. I generally swing by on the home from work most days. The staff is very helpful and they have most everything that I'm looking for. It's smaller than some of the other Pavillions but I like it for that reason. I've seen some unbelievably rude customers, just jaw-dropping scenarios, people who are self-entitled and bitchy to the extreme. I don't know how they smile while dealing with it. read more
