Yeah, the store is small. Yeah, the door arrangement is weird - you can only enter after walking past the flowers/plants. There is covered parking. The employees are excellent - when I went to ask if there was fresher bread; they had warm bread just out that I was able to get. Score! The main reason for the 3-star, ok, rating is because of the small store - don't expect to come here and find everything you'll want. My family's go to super market since I was a kid and its only one of three big chain supermarkets in Beverly Hills - actually there might only be two (Pavilions and Whole Foods) as I think Ralphs and Gelsons are both technically in Los Angeles. As for the store itself, the produce section is small and the bakery is even smaller. The meat and fish counter is also pretty small, but I have never had issues finding something I absolutely needed. This super market serves its purpose. The staff is extremely nice and they almost always have a great attitude. This place gets a 3/5 for the price of everything. Its pretty expensive and Ralphs down the street usually has better prices and the same products. read more

The checkout lines at this grocery store are the slowest I have ever encountered. There is rarely someone to bag groceries. The staff argue and criticize each other as they work making it very uncomfortable for me, the customer, to overhear. This supermarket is great if you need to buy groceries and don't want to walk a mile between the dairy section and the veggies area. I'm not sure who places products in certain aisles but there's usually no flow within the realms of pasta sauce and toiletries. Went to this store over the weekend to purchase on sale St Louis ribs. They were marked on the packaging on sale for $3.99 and had a label which stated they were packaged almost a year ago and a label which indicated that they were expired. The best part was that they were also supposed to be on sale for $1.99 as advertised,almost $2.00 less than what they wanted to charge me. Obviously left without purchasing them and suggest that you do the same. read more

Trying to do last minute shopping for my Super Bowl party. I have been out of town and didn't have much time to get all the things I needed. I truly wanted to thank Stanley (mgr) at the Beverly Hills location for his brilliant idea. He put all of the pertinent Super Bowl foods; i.e. Hamburger, hot dog buns, chili etc in one location. I definitely have mixed feelings about this place... It is Not my first or second choice grocery store- but it is so close to my office that its convenience has my stopping by often. The positives: - free parking (unheard of in Beverly Hills) and I usually find a space immediately - the employees are very kind and friendly! The man who works in produce always greets me and asks me if I need help. The people who bag groceries always ask if I need help (I never do- but it's a kind gesture) Negatives: - YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOREVER at the check stand because they do not have enough checkers... Seriously... Absolutely ridiculous - sometimes the front of the store (before the flowers and by where the carts are parked) smells just awful... I know it's a small thing- but it's not the most pleasant entrance to the store - produce department is very hit or miss... This store is so convenient to me 3 blocks convenient to be exact. The meat counter has just recently been remodeled as of two weeks ago. They really upped their game in the meat/ seafood department. I just got fresh dover soleto make tonight, the crab, lobster, shrimp, salmon looks amazing. And the sushi area had two guys making fresh sushi, that will be my next purchase. The wine department is really good for such a small store and Alexis the wine Boss girl really knows her stuff, I've never been disappointed by her suggestions.Oh lets talk about the produce selection...it ain't to shabby for a smaller store, brocollini, shishito peppers, little gem romaine, lemongrass, baby vegetables,quail eggs ( not for me) but hey that's cool for someone. I just moved to the area and do a lot of my regular grocery shopping here. There's never a huge line and they have most of the stuff I want. It's not that big in comparison to other Pavilions I've been to but the location is very convenient. Another thing I like about this location is the parking situation. There's always a lot out front and room in the garage type carport to the left if it's full. This is a much better situation than the Ralphs down the street. I recommend this place! read more

Convenient location for people who live round Beverly Dr. It's a rather small store and for that reason perfect if you need to pick up a thing or two on your way home for work. On the other hand, I don't know why they even bother to offer carts as the cost and puny selection make doing major shopping here a forbidding idea. Friendly employees. Parking lot is O.K., but at peak times (a little after 6pm or on holidays) it can get clusterfucked. No bakery. For the modest size of the store the alkie aisle is relatively adequate. read more

Will usually come here because its on my way. Small store so only come here for my essential groceries like fruits, milk and water. Once in a while I'll pick up a sandwich at the deli. For years I've been going to this supermarket because it's so close to my apartment. And, for years I've been trying to break the habit. Each time I go, I'm struck by the lousy upkeep, the poor selection, and the rude or incompetent employees. I resolve never to come back. But then I need some paper towels, or some eggs, or whatever, and I end up here. My most recent terrible experience was (I hope) the last straw--I'm officially done. I can't possibly recount every horror from my shopping experiences at Pavilions over the years, but there are a few that stick out: The deli counter is consistently slow, and I'd say there's about a 50% chance that the sole employee behind the counter is on break at any given time. I once waited more than 10 minutes to buy some fried chicken, and I was the only person in line. There was a young woman in the bakery department, just a few feet away, who busied herself by folding and refolding a towel over and over again, and by picking up a clipboard, studying it, and then putting it down again. A couple minutes into my wait I tried to make eye contact with her. The first couple of times she met my gaze, she looked away after a moment, as though she couldn't imagine why I would be looking at her. The third time or so, she seemed to have figured it out, because she said "someone will be right with you." And then she folded her towel again. When the deli guy finally got back from whatever he was doing in the back, he acknowledged my long wait by asking curtly "what do you want?" After paying for my groceries on another occasion, I asked the checker if I could buy a roll of quarters from him. He told me that he didn't have any in his drawer and that I'd have to ask the manager. I waited several minutes for the manager to wander up the front of the store, where I was waiting with my melting ice cream, and put the same question to him. He told me he would not sell my a roll of quarters because "it costs the store money to have to keep getting rolls of quarters from the bank." I think I stood in silence for a few seconds before asking "Really?" Yes, he replied, I was out of luck. I understand that they don't make a profit from letting me swap a $10 bill for a roll of quarters, and I know that they're not under any obligation to do so. But there are lots of things that Pavilions does that it doesn't directly profit from. Like, having a parking lot. Or accepting credit cards. Or treating its customers with respect. It does these things because when it has a parking lot and accepts credit cards, customers spend money in the store on groceries. And it does make a profit on that. I took my melted ice cream and left. More recently, I was standing in line to pay. Let me interject that there's always a line here, not matter the time or the number of people in the store. I could show up at 4:00 in the morning and I'm sure there would be 6 people in line at the sole open register, the person in front needing a price check or an answer to a complicated question about an expired coupon or two. Open registers without lines are tricks--the checkers at these registers are trained to go on break just as you finish emptying your basket onto the conveyor belt. Anyway, most recently I was standing at the back of such a line (in the middle of the day, on a Sunday). I had a few items, which I set down. After what seemed like forever, the checker started with the person in front of me, who was buying some frozen dinners and a small fortune's worth of cat food. A man stepped into line behind me, and at just that moment another checker approached our line, looked straight at the man who'd just gotten in line, and told him she could help him at register 3. I looked at my things, looked at the man behind me, and then at the checker, but before I could manage an objection, they were gone. I should have realized that I'd become invisible--for several minutes I'd been holding an empty cup from Starbucks, trying to get the checker's attention to ask if she'd kindly throw it in the trash. After several minutes of fruitlessly holding the empty cup out in front of me, hoping against all hope that the checker might take pity on me and give me a little attention, I gave up and set it down near the end of the conveyor. When it was my turn (several minutes later) the checker asked me if that was my coffee cup. I admitted that it was. She said "there's a garbage can behind you," pointing to a small bin hidden underneath the next cash register. She stopped ringing up my groceries and stared at me, waiting. I picked up the cup and, reaching deftly around the knees of the checker at register 3, managed to sneak it into her trash can. As a thank you, the checker rolled her eyes at me and made her best effort to bruise the vegetables I was buying as she rang them up. I think I'm done--both with this review, and with this terrible supermarket. read more

Pretty shocked at the bad reviews. I am logistically between this store and the Vons on Fairfax/Pico. I prefer this one ten fold. For the items I need I am able to find them fast. Vons at Fairfax & Pico is much larger and it takes me longer to find what I need. * I just like how Pavillions is laid out.* The people working -- when it comes to helping you, I give a 5. The vons people are a 9. Thank goodness I know where most is and am out fast. One star off is for the employees & them being out of popular things half of the time. This Pavillions location isn't on my normal shopping trek, however it is close by and, when in need of a few things, it is convenient. Their selection is not as wide as other stores, but it is a small"ish" store. It is clean and has ample parking. The customer service is OK - I did not experience the rude or dismissive treatment others seem to have received, but probably not on par with other larger stores I have been to. Overall, it fits the bill if you need a few items. read more

This has got to be one of the shittiest Pavilions I've ever been to. You'd never know that this brand is supposed to be the higher end version of Vons based on this location. This particular store has been around for at least 15 years, and I believe it's only been renovated once. That's right, the aisles still look like they're straight out of the 90s, and the parking garage and lot is a mess. The only time I ever go here is when I only need one thing, like milk; if I need anything more than that, I go to the Ralphs up the street along Pico. read more

This Pavilions is a buzz kill...it's not stocked with all brands of everyday items but instead has built an oversized wine section into this smaller than normal grocery store. The deli counter has one line for everything - so you're forced to wait in the same long specialty sandwich line even if you just want pre-cooked deli or pre-made salads. The staff never smile, they are unhelpful, and they seem as unhappy as I do having to be stuck shopping there. The drive to the WeHo Pavilions is worth it. Avoid this BH location unless you love Debbie Downers. read more

I like the products in here but the deli sandwich maker apparently did not know what artichokes are because I ordered an artichoke chicken sandwich with her, left to go shop, came back & picked it up, paid & went home & opened up a sandwich with jalapeños peppers & chicken with NO artichoke-- sad discovery for a hungry person! Then of course the bag boy at my counter FORGOT to bag my sandwich at first making me have to go back in again to pick up my disappointing order -- like double hits to a hungry woman, man. Ugh. This is a nice, modern, clean, efficiently laid out market, which was recently remodeled. By Pavilions standards, this market is small, however the layout makes it extremely easy to find what you need. They have the typical selection of supermarket food, in addition to a specialty food area and "deli" service counter (since this is a small store, the selection of "specialty" foods is less than at the ginormous versions of Pavilions). The star here is the freshly baked bread, and in my opinion especially the Olive bread, which is off the hook. If you like either bread or olives in any shape or form, this is like the holy grail of olive bread (and reasonably priced too!). The people who work in the bread department, such as Freddy, are exceptionally nice. They'll treat you like royalty. Unfortunately, there are no self-checkout terminals, and not enough cashiering stations to efficiently handle all of the customers at peak hours, therefore when it gets busy, prepare to wait in a long line. read more
