Great deli. I go and get the smokestack sandwhich here almost every weekend. They got some different stuff than Ralphs and other supermarkets because it's more "upscale." Definately sign up for the club card, I got a bottle of liquor here and the price dropped seven bucks from 20 to 13 after I put in my phone number. Expensive but quiet, like much of the Orchard Hills center. A clean layout, and a great deli and bakery section, and good produce. But the prices are very high, and the staff are kind of rude and busy, and the pricing is hit or miss, depending on what's being promoted that week. read more

Beautiful big store with a great variety of products. Prices are a little higher than some other stores so I took away a star. The staff here is usually really nice though and the store never seems to get that crowded. I'm usually willing to pay a little more to shop here for those reasons. read more

The produce department is the worst! They have moved things around a number of times and you always have to check for almost expired or expired and packaged produce that is moldy or rotting. Really sad, since the checkers and baggers really do work hard, but I just can't take it any more, I'd rather go to Albertsons, I was at your old store for seven years as a customer and this new one since day one, just can't do it anymore! read more

Tori is one of the nicest cashiers at your store. Tori and Michael always say hi and know me by my name. Tori always asks how my little dog is doing and always so helpful. Both Tori and Michael always greet me and help with coupons and I couldn't be happier shopping here. Also you carry my favorite coconut milk and Ben N Jerry's Vanilla Ice Cream. This is what I like about this Pavillions: 1) its 1 mi from my office; 2) lines are incredibly short; 3) they make better tasting sandwiches than Subway. Other than that, its expensive. I know what I'm looking for, and expensive groceries are NOT it. read more

The deli department needs additional training on how to make custom sandwiches. I have gone several times and end up dissatisfied with my order. The sandwiches are falling apart half the time and they are not fully toasted. I would understand if there's a rush hour but there aren't many customers when I tend to go. Their customer service can also be improved. If there are add-ons that I would like included in my sandwiches, I don't expect to be met with disapproving looks from the service workers. I've only had one young man make my sandwich to my satisfaction. read more

I usually go to this pavillions whenever I need to go to market. It's a little pricier than other markets but it's not that bad. I've tried there sandwiches and roasted chicken and they tasted good. I like coming here because the staff is friendly, it's new, and it's usually not crowded. read more

In the 20 years that I've lived in So California, Pavilions/VONS still has the same credit card application looking form JUST for a rewards card. So bizarre and their prices aren't that great. I was just relegated to shopping here when my community was changing their gated entrances. So glad it's over because this is not a store I try to get to. This is my favorite grocery store ever. It's never too crowded and they have everything you will want. They even have a kombucha station.

They carry a wide variety of organic veggies and meat - more so than nearby larger grocery stores. There are rarely any lines on checkout.

Great place for a quick pick up of your groceries. I am a regular shopper at Whole foods but I live across the street from this place and don't mind coming here for weekly veggies (organic) or fruits. They have a good selection of groceries and tend to many types of needs whether they be organic, vegetarian etc. Has a good Starbucks inside. My only wish is for the bakery to employ people who can use the machines to cut bread later at night. There were many times when I wanted to get bread cut but the people there were not certified to use the machines. read more

It's really nice and organize here. They have a redbox right on the left side right when you walk in. In front would be some flowers (depending on season or holiday what kind it would be)-they have a huge variety. They they have a Starbucks to your left side (coming in from the right door). Parking is not hard to find. read more

This location is always clean and there's never a ton of people in the store so no lines-Yay! However, there is one bagger who really needs to learn how to bag groceries. She throws everything into the same bag-dish soap, produce, meats, bakery items. It's gross and inconvenient to have to rebag everything myself when I get to the car. read more

I recently went to the bakery and met with Sue for help with a 2 tier baby shower cake. I gave her a picture of what I was looking for and she was able to help me out with the cake. She kept me in the loop about how it was going and what it looked like. I was much appreciative. I was skeptical about ordering a customized cake from a store bakery but when I got the cake it was awesome. The cake not only looked great it tasted good too. Thanks Sue. read more

The store is very clean but I do agree with some other posts that everything is overpriced. Just wait for their $10 or $20 off coupons and choose something that is on sale, then their prices will be more reasonable. read more

Nice and all, but I got a mango dragonfruit refresher from the Starbucks and the entire cup was filled to the top with ice so I only got like five sips out of the drink when CLEARLY I paid for more than that. It was incredibly annoying because that was my favorite drink and I was feeling like shit that but, I guess I'm not supposed to get shit to drink either lol read more

I love being able to come into their deli and get amazing sandwiches that are fresh and have a reasonable prices. I always leave happy. Each employee I've met so far have been very pleasant and always smiling. Love how clean and stocked all the shelves are!!! Thumbs up!!! read more

Associates here still have A LOT to learn. Always remember to listen to what the customer is wanting and do what you need to do right then and there to fulfill a customers request. Not recommended at this time but being newly opened the look and presentation is different than other Safeway Pavilions group locations. read more

I have been here 3 times since it opened because it's the closest market when I'm in a hurry, but I'm very sad that the staff is less than impressive. So unfriendly!!! I was very excited to have Pavillions open near my home. I lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and Safeway was the local store. So, Vons and Pavillions, which, back in the day, were owned by Safeway, are familiar to me. When Albertson's bought the Safeway Corp, they closed all the Vons and Pavillions that were near Albertsons stores thus leaving my local area with several Albertsons but no, close Vons or Pavillions. So, I was stoked to see this location about to open and I've been trying to shop at this recently re-built Pavillions since they opened in June. I really, really want to like this store. But, it continues to disappoint and frustrate me. First the good: It is a new facility and a lovely store to look at and walk around. It is bright and clean (except as I mention below.) Several people are friendly. (Many are not.) The Club Price deals are good. The wine selection is excellent, very extensive and well priced. And, the wine manager is excellent. (He should be the store manager...more on that later.) As I turn to the many issues, I think it is fair to say this is basically an amazing, high end wine store with a crappy grocery store in the same building. If an item is not "Club Priced" watch out, bend over and get ready for that uncomfortable feeling of being ripped off. The everyday prices are insane. Many $2-$4 items are as much as 75 cents to a dollar more than the same item at Ralphs right down the road. And, if you look at prices, please remember them at check out because often items are mis-marked on the shelf resulting in a hassle checking out. This store also recently and dramatically reduced their section by eliminating many SKUs. Wow...why would you do that? Isn't carrying the broad selection why you charge such high prices on everything else? But, when they did that reduction, they gave 75% off the close out items... except, guess what.... they didn't honor the price at the register. I literally had to go back to the shelf, tear down the sign and show it to the guy to get the 75% off price. And, the dude (an "Assistant Manager" no less... a really miserable person) made me feel like a thief for asking that they honor the price posted on the shelf. Also, because the store is not as busy as a store of this size should be, there is often expired food throughout the store. BRING YOUR READING GLASSES because you MUST check expiration dates on everything. The old food issue had spilled over into the meat and fish area. There are times the meat departments smells terrible. My uncle was a butcher and he taught me that if you smell the meat department, RUN, not walk away because that means it is just plain dirty. And, I once bought a piece of salmon at this store and was horrified when the guy, instead of wrapping it up flat on a piece of meat paper, balled up the filet into a produce bag. I still bought it because it was on sale. But, when I got home the smell was horrible. Fresh fish should smell either like the sea or like nothing at all. I returned the rotten fish and they acted like it was no big deal. Perhaps they have rotten fish returned often. So... all of this, yet I still wanted to like the place. I filled out the survey via a link on the register tape. The manager called me, left a message saying he would call back, but left no return number. He called twice more, again without a return number or any real way to get back in touch with him. Hmmmmm. It seems clear he really didn't want to talk. Then I figured out who the manager of this place is. I see him in the store but this dude NEVER talks with customers. If he sees a customer, he will turn the other way and walk away. I see him busily straightening shelves and stocking merchandise, but he NEVER engages customers. What the hell? The fish rots from the head down. Clearly the manager does not see the connection between customers and the store's bottom line. It is actually laughable and says something about the Vons / Safeway / Albertsons company that this dude could be this incredibly inept and become a store manager. Obviously customer service is not a core value of the company. Anyway, I've said enough. 1 star for the wine department, 1 star because the facility is beautiful, but save yourself the frustration and the expense and go elsewhere. It will be interesting to see how long this store stays open. It has to be bleeding money, and unless they get a new store manager, I don't see that it will improve. read more

Wow. What a horrible experience. I went in for a sandwich. Decided to add a cup of soup for a buck extra. They charged me $2. Whatever. No big deal. When I went to get the soup they were out. It took 10 minutes to get the counter person at the deli at which time I was told I had to go to customer service for a refund. OK. When I went there they told me I needed a Pavillions card to get a refund. I did not want a Pavillions card. A second employee told me to just fill out the form. I said I did not want to give my info to someone if I didn't want to. He said just fill out a fake name. I said I'm not comfortable lying. Finally they got the big manager to come by and give me my $2. If their policy is to require a Pavillions card for a refund, that's just plan stupid. Costco is one thing, but this... This Pavilions frustrates me. I understand that it's under new management but the prices are most definitely higher than about 6 months to a year ago. The store is usually really dead (which is sometimes a blessing but other times it makes me wonder how a store can be SO dead all the time and still make money) and if you go in past 5-6pm the bakery is usually completely out of bread and I don't think I've ever been in the store and had the fish area open (yes, I go in a bit later...but it must close fairly early for me to never have seen a single fish in the window). I want to like this store because it's really close to where I live and it's cleaner and more classy feeling than Ralph's...but I can't justify coming here for my regular grocery shopping because of the prices. Every few months it seems like it gets better and then it goes back down hill again for another few months. I wish the Pavilions from a year ago would come back! read more

very clean, nice and beautiful. its usually empty, which is nice for convenience, but i dont know how they make any money. their prices are high, so they compete by really pushing their online coupons. theyre great, but its annoying to have to navigate a buggy website for 20 minutes before you even go to the store. so i when i want to quickly pick something up, i go elsewhere to avoid having to go through the extra work of their just4u site or paying more than other stores, also annoying to get conditioned to your just4u personal price, then having it jump back up to regular. for example, i used to buy TONS of lean cuisines for my ex-girlfriend, so they gave me a personal price of 1.67, this caused me to do all my shopping there. after a few months, the deal ended and the price went back to 2.50+. they do a great job of keeping it clean, opening/running registers so that theres no lines, and customer service, (love how they great you by name) but i just wish they got their pricing situation sorted so i dont have to grocery shop online before i go. but for now, ill shop elsewhere read more
