2,5 stars on average give it away already. I moved into the neighborhood and am checking out the differences between the markets. Pavillions usually strive to be a more upscale market and out-do markets like Ralphs. I do not mind paying extra. However, I do mind being overcharged. I picked some small tomatoes on the ripe they were advertising for $5.99 a bag. I was charged $14.40. On our way to our car my wife and I wondered why we had just paid $50 for some eggs, a quart of milk, some mozzarella and some tomatoes. Checking the receipt: tomotoes not $5,99 but $14,40 (and: we said we do not need bags - the bag man had already started packing, said never mind - and we were charged for two bags :-( I went back to our cashier Ana, who strived to be the manager, and, of course, everything was my fault. I just picked the wrong tomatoes. I went back to the produce section - and there was this sign in the middle of the tomatoes I had picked - "tomatoes on the ripe - $5.99". Unwillingly, she followed me and someone must have out a wrong sign there. My mentioning that this were (a) the only tomatoes on the ripe and that (b) there were no other tomatoes on the ripe was shrugged of. I was eventually refunded - she tried to make me go back to the car again and get the credit card, but then refunded me in cash. Food good, ambiance OK, service meh. I will never go again. read more

Really not a good experience. It was nearly impossible to find parking, then I go inside and grab a few items (had to wait a long time at the seafood section, being completely ignored)... Take them to checkout, where only ONE register is open, but she is sitting there counting money so she can't ring anybody up. So, really, NO registers are open and available! So I decided to use self-checkout (had to give up on getting beer because of that), but then my piece of sea bass - which was listed at $5 member price - refused to ring up at the sale price, and instead came up at $11.99 (for a 3 oz piece!)... So I go back to the register, where there is now a woman with a bunch of groceries in front of me, also waiting for the money-counting to end. Two older ladies behind me grumble "This is just like Vons. And people complain, but they don't do anything about it." Now you've got a line blocking the aisles, and TWO other employees come over to the area, see the situation, don't open another register or do anything about it. Once I finally got through, the lady told me I was wrong about the sea bass since the price wouldn't register, so I told her to just remove it. (Turns out, they still had a sale sign up that expired 2 days ago) This place sucks. read more

I came here the other day while we were in town visiting my sister. It reminds me of a Safeway. Very nice establishment very clean atmosphere. We came here to pick up a few things the other day and I noticed right away. It reminded me a lot of the Safeway is back home and they even have their own Starbucks area, the staff working at the Starbucks is very friendly very helpful. Ravishment is very clean. Very large store with lots of different items to choose from. Definitely a very nice grocery store. I didn't realize they were owned by Albertsons until after reading at other peoples comments no wonder why it seems so familiar are used to work for Albertsons for almost 4 years in Arizona they don't only have groceries they have something for everybody. My experience here was amazing. Everybody was awesome and I like how my experience was here we even stopped by here we're driving home on Monday and I was able to get my Starbucks on the go only thing I didn't like was the cardboard straws lol other than that my coffee tastes perfect and the staff making it was awesome very friendly. Made me have a great experience. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone. They are awesome friendly and make killer coffee. Friendly and considerate staff. They all wore masks even before the face covering order came out. We always stop here on our way from Point Dume park. We get fruits, veggies, meats that are usually crisp and fresh here (natural/organic). Recently I asked a guy re-stocking diary shelves if they had alcohol. He replied, "We have an entire aisle of it!" I said, "Oh no! The medical, antiseptic alcohol!" - which we had been hunting for a month. He too had a short laugh under his mask, and instantly pointed at an empty bottom shelf, bent over there and pulled out a single remaining large bottle of 91% Isopropyl Alcohol! (Far more precious than Sparkling Wine.) Then he digged out another, the last one in stock, for my husband. They also have an excellent selection of Spectrum expeller pressed culinary oil bottles! Smaller than most Vons for sure but, location, location, location! The parking lot is tight and it also shares the space with a very busy mini plaza. Still, lots of stock and the store was clean Sunday of course was very busy. Could not even get close to the deli. It was a beach day and I was not dressed head to toe in Versace. And, I felt it. Very snooty place but hey! It IS Malibu and there are not a ton of options when it comes to groceries/snacks around here. Went in for milk, came out $48 down. Do not grocery shop when hungry! :) I love Vons so of course I would come back. Maybe would switch out the Havianas next time. Or not. read more

Store is older and a bit dim, could use a remodel. However, it is very well maintained, well stocked and the service is wonderful. They carry great products, several local and have a really nice wine and liquor section in the back. The bathroom situation is horrible, through the back and up the stairs, avoid that part. Plenty of easy parking, great grocery option in Malibu since there isn't much else around, perfect to grab affordable drinks or snacks for the beach. read more

Been shopping here for years as I am a malibu resident and live down the street. Great service and great food quality. Amazing wine cellar with exquisite high end wines and liquor. Inga is very nice. Friendly and professional. Pedro is also very helpful. He once even went out of his way to help me in the meat department when the person in charge was on break. Great job. Worst grocery store ever. I understand that they are short on space. But on various visits they have been out of nonfat milk, fresh baked bread and other necessities. Come on. My car has be dented, scratched or flat out hit in their horrible parking lot. And, on busy days, the security guard will actually chase off cars from waiting for a spot! The produce and flowers are better than the Ralph's down PCH but that's about the only benefit. Every time the cashier asks, "Did you find everything you needed today?" I always say, "No." Not in this store. read more

This store was absolutely beautiful, just as I expect every Pavilions to be. Things were well organized and clearly labeled. The staff were friendly and actually really got a kick out of seeing my lil one try and do some shopping of her own. We ordered some food from the hot cases and we sampled a few things from their cold salad case as well. Everything was tasty and the employees were very nice about letting us sample a few things. We found some fun items in the end caps of the various aisles. One of them was a sorta harder to find hot wheels car. They had a feature section at the store that showcased beach items. It was perfect for us as we needed an anchor and some sand castle building tools. We were able to find each of those for about $5 each. I felt like this store was a tad smaller than more of the other Pavilions that I'd been to but it was so nicely well kept and their parking was easy in their lot. I have no complaints. read more

This review is about an employee named Javier. While at the store last Saturday I needed to use the restroom. The entry way to the back had a sign that the restroom is closed. I saw an employee and asked to confirm that the restroom is closed, to which the employee snapped at me with "did you not see the sign!" while pushing past me. The employee's name was Javier: Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful toward store patrons, not compliant with 6ft social distancing, and not wearing a mask while working with groceries. read more

We used the bakery for our wedding cake and Pietro did a fabulous job! The cake was reasonably priced and delicious! I highly recommend it if you are looking for a wedding cake in Malibu. The prices cannot be beat. read more

Went there to grab some groceries & we did have to use the restrooms, apparently like many others that where there that day we went. Wow......people it was not hard to figure out where the bathrooms where, once you asked one of the staff. But it was funny watching lots of folks still not being able to find their way after being told clear instructions......anyhow.... The market itself was clean, selection decent. This review is based on my last visit here. Saw that they had the good tasting boneless teriyaki wings I had the last time I was there so decided to get some of those from the hot deli section. OMG!! They need to fire those employees serving up the food. There were only about three people ahead of me & the employees were taking forever to make the sandwiches of the first two so I left! So if you have been to a Pavilions, then don't base your expectations on that because this one is just in a world of it's own. It is a convenience to have when you are at the beach or camping nearby. However, you almost regret going with the issues you have: * The small parking lot is shared with other shops in this little mall, and the snobby people who go to this one think driving laws and common courtesy don't apply to them. There is always no parking and you spend more time driving around then you will shopping. * The staff always seems very understaffed. It's a crap-shoot on whether or not you'll get a friendly response or just a look / glare. All in all, you don't have much in options in this area. read more

had to run here after realizing at the summer beach party that we left our fully packed and prepared diaper bag at home, 29 miles away. FCUK! anyway, this Pavillions was close enough to mitigate the agitation involved with leaving the party and having to drive here in the first place. it's close by PCH in Mailibu standards. close to all the other shops and restaurants. the parking lot is pretty freaking small. i mean like if you drive anything bigger than a Fiat, you're going to have to reverse out of there. i guess it's meant for quick Ins and Outs. but, on beautiful sunny Malibu beach days, this place is popping. crazy busy like a Toys R Us parking lot on Christmas eve. oh, and the lanes go one way only. the store itself, considering it's a Pavillions, is amazingly tiny. i think i walked in the front door right into the meat section! ok, not that small, but, you get it. like i said, beautiful sunny day so pretty busy in there. no lines at the registers though, i noticed. that was good. aisles were set up similar to my other Pavillions. i was trying to look for the baby section. i did have a confused look on my face as i aimelessly paced back and forth. i made eye contact with the manager or assistant manager or who ever he was with the white shirt. unfortunately, he walked right by me. dang. oh well. no worries, i realize he may have been in a hurry with a strawberry malfuntion or rotisserie chicken debacle. i'm just used to my other Pavillions and Vons employees who, with my big Bambi lost eyes, would've probably carried me fireman style to find my aisle. c'est la vie. i'm really just glad that i found this Pavillions and didn't have to give my son non-dairy creamer packets from the gas station in lieu of formula. i'll take it easy on them, unlike my other Yelpers. the prices were relatively consistent. maybe a little marked up for the clientele. my rewards card worked and i got out of there with some peace of mind. read more

I love this Pavilions and will happily make the drive up from the Palisades. The wine and produce selection are amazing. Seriously--best wine selection ever. Every time I go I see chefs shopping and that has to be a good sign. I have found the cashiers to be extremely friendly and efficient. They aren't all up in your face asking about every item you're buying (looking at you, Trader Joe's). read more

This is now the only grocery store on the west end of Malibu. It's rather small and doesn't have the greatest selection. The staff has always been very friendly but its the lack of fresh produce that bothers me. If you are in need of unique ingredients you will have no luck finding them here. Parking is easy and it's in a nice shopping center with all your basic needs. Bottom line - if you are in the west of Malibu and need a grocery store, this is your only option! read more

For us east coast people, this is the west coast version of a Safeway grocery store. Same exact thing and the layout is similar to all of the older Safeway stores. We stopped into this Pavillion on our way to a Malibu beach for some food supplies and a potty break before our long awaited lunch on the beach. There's nothing extraordinary or different about this grocery store except the location of the bathrooms. You not only have to pass through the back area (stock room) of the store, but you have to head up some stairs to the elevated offices. Once you're up on the 2nd level, the bathrooms are around the corner (not too far) from the end of the stairway. The layout of the place is a bit outdated and looks like it needs to undergo much of the remodeling that other Pavillions/Safeways are undergoing. Staff was nice and helpful in helping me navigate my way to the restroom. The produce and food looked good and the store was clean. There was some crazy construction going on in the parking lot which did cut down on the number of available parking spots. It's probably not their fault, but it makes it harder for a shopper to just quickly pop into this Pavillion without first hunting for a parking spot. read more

I work in the area. Zuma being Zuma, there are so few places to grab some food for lunch, so I often find myself coming here to pick up something. Pros: The staff is awesome. I've been coming here for five years and it's the same people working here. That says something. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. I love them. Sushi is actually good here. Fresh. Dude will make whatever you ask, too. You get to see famous people. Sean Penn, Shirley Maclaine, Nicki Minaj, Pink, Tori Spelling (fame debatable), Cheech Marin, Sean William Scott and so many others. This area of town is the hot spot for local celebs. It neighbors Lily's Cafe which is an amazing taco place. Ummm....I guess that's it. Cons: Parking. Ugh. Depending on the time of day, it can be a complete and utter nightmare. They really need to do something about that. Stay away during lunch time. High School kids. I don't mind them so much, but they come here in throngs. Nothing says a good time like overhearing conversations between over privileged high schoolers who drive Range Rovers to school. Stab me in the ears, please. Want a sandwich? Be prepared to wait 30 minutes in line and then another 20 minutes to have it made. Not very expeditious, these sandwich makers. It can get very crowded with long lines on the only two registers they have open. They know their busy times, but don't really care to make our wait shorter. Again, stay away during lunch time. Want something from the Bakery? You're gonna have to wait. Bother someone else to page someone, and then wait some more, bother that same person again, and then wait. And then finally decide that chocolate cupcake wasn't meant to be anyway. Your waistline will thank you. I come here because there aren't many options. I love the staff, so it's not a terrible visit and for the most part it's just okay. This would not be my choice if I had more options. Options would be nice. read more

Poor service. Rude cashiers. Long lines. It took 2 minutes to grab what we needed and 25minutes in line. We ended up having to return what we bought (because it was expired) and the cashier who helped us was inconsiderate and rude. It took 20minutes just for her to refund us and do an exchange, causing everyone behind us to rage. The ONLY thing I appreciate about this store is the staff they have bagging and doing cart runs. They are so sweet and helpful, the cashiers should take note on their customer service. read more

I love this store. There is no better selection of organic produce in the area. Everyone, but everyone at the store is friendly and helpful. The fish selection is fresh and beautifully displayed. We used the florist for two events, and everything was perfect. They don't have a lot of kosher food, but they do have delicious Schwartz challah every Friday. Yes, being rather remote, they may have an absent checker at times, but they react quickly when lines get long. This is a spotless, well-run grocery store where I have shopped for 20 years. read more

They look good, from the outside in and they have a well kept store but the sandwich deli was slower than words can explain. Stopped in to grab a quick bite but my quick bite turned into a disaster. I guess the beach folk are really "laid back dude??" No effort to speed things up despite the "laser glare" I was giving him. (6/21/2013; 4pm-ish) For a Vons in a city like Malibu, I was appalled. One register was open...ONE. And it was the express lane at that! So being that the lady in front of me had far more than 10 items in her basket, there was no way I could complain because where was she supposed to go. The guy working the register was a flustered dodo brain while other workers stood around the place twiddling there thumbs, breezing back their bleached blond hair, and thinking about the next wave they were going to catch.
