All Ralph's suck. this one sucks more than others. Some of the cashiers here dont use common sense. Before you choose your line, just look at the person and assess whether they have their wits about them or just go straight to self checkout. this location is super special because I always encounter an issue here. once I loaded my cart with groceries..I smelled something foul. i stuck my head deep into the cart and had determined that some homeless dude urinated on it..in it. I left the cart and walked out because it was so unsettling. speaking of the homeless, I've seen shoplifting here happen with impunity YET they will be sure to card a 40 year old for alcohol and charge you for a paperbag. I also remember going to a Ralph's in the AM and I could do my shopping unobstructed because they would stock before they opened, but in a genius attempt to inconvenience everyone and probably save money, they stock during business hours so you've got people in the aisles working and stocking right when they open. This is THE place to get helium filled balloons! Both Latex and Mylar for every kind of seasonal and evergreen celebration--birthdays graduation Valentine's Day Mother's Day July 4, numbers and letters, you name it. And TARA is your girl. She runs the balloon center at this Ralph's location and is so helpful! You should know that not all balloons are created equal. If you want nice helium filled ones, you're going to need good quality balloons. I got some from Daiso and the Dollar Store and they just didn't look like they were going to hold up. The price for helium balloons is the same whether you buy the balloon there at Ralph's or if you bring your own. So you might as well go with the quality assured balloons they sell at Ralph's. Each basic solid colored balloon was well under $2 and Tara ties it up nicely with ribbon and an anchor, and she will arrange them for you too if you want them in a nice bunch! The big shiny Mylar balloons come in a ton of shapes and sizes and they were about $13-15 including the balloon and helium, with string and anchor. These last a while too! Ralph's on Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills is my go to for helium filled balloons! They're all over the store. James, Ray, Christine and others are always both friendly AND helpful. I have been coming to this Ralphs for about 5 years & it is hands down my favorite Ralphs in Los Angeles. First off, the staff. They are genuinely helpful & they remember you. That matters. These are people making near minimum wage doing their best, so maybe get off your debt laden high horse when writing reviews. If you want a white glove experience, go shop at Whole Foods, which arguably has worse customer service anyway. The store itself is the perfect size. Solid selection without feeling like you need a GPS tracker to find eggs. It is efficient, clean, & easy to get in and out, which is exactly what a grocery store should be. Reading some of the negative reviews is comical. People complaining about Ralphs prices like this store is personally responsible for macroeconomics, trade policy, and tariffs. Yes, things are more expensive everywhere. Welcome to reality. There are apps that literally tell you when deals are happening. Use them. And the complaints about Western Union are wild. This is a grocery store, not the Wild West. If that bothers you so much, maybe consider using a real bank that was opened in this century. Good people work at this store, and that is why I keep coming back. I would much rather support a place like this than funnel more money into Amazon owned market share grabbers. Supporting a variety of stores actually helps the average American in the long run. If you are unhappy here, the problem is not the store. This is a very nice and clean Ralphs. Best part about it is the cheese counter, to the right of the store, as you enter. Jocelyne is very nice and there is also a gentleman that works, in the cheese section, as well. Tons of variety of really good cheeses and well priced. Sometimes, they will give you a sample and it is always SO GOOD!! The store also has very good sale prices throughout the entire store. This is a location I try to avoid. Just in the last two years I've lived in Woodland Hills, I can tell there's been a lot of changes that just don't make sense. First, there are no shopping carts or baskets anywhere near the entrance or inside the store. Already you're wasting 5 minutes hunting for a shopping cart in the busy parking lot. And one of the two entrances is blocked off, so it makes it so there are never convenient grocery trips. Today, I parked a couple rows away from the entrance, and while driving my cart back, it suddenly locks up in the middle of traffic not even 15 feet away from the main entrance, so I had to carry 3 full bags of groceries the rest of the way to my car. There's a Ralph's a couple miles away, and I would much rather drive all the way there then have to deal with these unnecessary inconviniences. read more

I'm becoming more and more unhappy with this store. First they blocked off the deodorant aisle. Now the laundry soap is quarantined also. I resent having to run a gauntlet for a bottle of Tide. Tonight, I had to buy something in these aisles. The cashier actually watched me to make sure I didn't steal anything! Unbelievable! Plus, they have the side entrances blocked so you can exit anymore. Way to make the store feel welcoming. The laundry soap I wanted was mislabeled, and there were ladders left in the aisles. I called Wester Union to find a location that will payout a large amount of money. They told this location will pay up to $10,000.00 dollars. When I went in I was told the person in charge of this department in the store is not available to come back in an hour. So I did, when I finally spoke with Lorenzo. He looked annoyed I even ask about Western Union. So he did not even open the drawer to see how much money they had. He simply said that they did not have enough money to pay me the amount I was send. I told him that I had called Western Inion and they said this location can pay out up the 10,000.00 dollars. First of all, they re-arranged the entire store and it's ridiculous and hard to find things now, But the biggest annoyance is that they've glassed off an area in the far west side of the store. And you have to pay for the items there, and they won't let you take them! Today I wanted one item, a fe-breeze, and the checker was extremely rude, yelling at me saying "You have to pay for that here!" She acted like I was going to steal it! So I just left it there. Terrible Customer Service at Ralphs Bakery: Avoid Chaney! I had the worst experience at Ralphs on Ventura Blvd & Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills, specifically at the bakery section. I've been shopping here for years, but today's incident was beyond unacceptable. I went to buy a birthday cake for my mom with my kids. We waited over 15 minutes for an employee to assist us. When she finally came, we politely asked for a cake, which she took to the back. After 20 more minutes of waiting, we asked why it was taking so long, and instead of a simple explanation, she rudely yelled at us, saying it was "normal" and that we had to wait. Another customer was dealing with the same issue. Frustrated, we asked for a store director, only to be told there wasn't one available. Instead, we were sent to Chaney, the assistant manager in the bakery section. Rather than listening to our complaint, Chaney immediately defended the employee, insisting it was her first day, completely ignoring our main concern, which was her disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. When we explained this, Chaney became rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in solving the problem. We even asked Chaney to check the security cameras so she could see exactly how the employee treated us. Instead of taking this reasonable step, she refused to listen and repeatedly told us, "Because you're mad, I'm not listening to you." Of course, after such awful treatment, I was mad, who wouldn't be? But even if a customer is frustrated, it is the manager's job to find out what happened and handle the situation professionally, not dismiss them outright. I am shocked at the lack of customer service and accountability in this store. A manager or assistant manager should aim to de-escalate situations, not worsen them. Chaney failed completely, she was impolite, unprofessional, and had no interest in resolving the issue. RALPHS, WE SPEND OUR HARD EARNED MONEY IN YOUR STORE, AND WE EXPECT DECENT SERVICE IN RETURN. I must admit, the visit to this location was very enjoyable. I've never been to a Ralph's location so far out but it's an experience to remember. My friend amd I was treated with so much respect. From the security officer on duty that day to the cart collector down to our cashier. Our visit was on Wednesday, March 27th around 12:45pm. My friend wanted to take advantage of the sale on wines. Well, she picked a very good day to do so because we were found in the wine aisle by Sherry. She was the conducting a wine tasting. Honestly, I've been trying to attend a wine testing but the timing is never right. We learned so much from this quick session. So inspiring. She taught us about the difference in wine when it has been barrowed longer. She also taught us the difference between tasting and just swallowing it down, how you should actually use all your senses when tasting. This ralphs location is quite elegant, clean and very big. Plenty of parking. No struggle. They sold certain products that I wouldn't ever see on shelves at locations near me. Been going to this Ralph's on n off for last 4 years. Lately the last 5 months, I've noticed a sharp drop in quality/freshness with produce and meat department. Very inconsistent. Produce section sometimes frozen. Lot of off things sitting with fresher stuff. Lot of things go off within a couple days. Those new bio-degradable bags don't help. Service usually good. Stopped in for the first time the other day and was a little overwhelmed... I mean it's Ralph's, yet the quality of produce, selection of snacks and customer service are all above average. The parking lot is located in a large plaza off Ventura Blvd and Topanga Cyn that is shared with several businesses including FedEx, Rite Aid, Sprouts, Jamba Juice and so on. Getting in is probably easier than getting out, even during peak hours. I personally generally metro over to this area (which I recommend) and there are plenty of pedestrian paths inside the lot for a safe journey. The west side entrance of Ralph's Fresh Fare Woodland Hills is the produce side and the east is bakery, salad bar and hot food. One of the pluses to this one is that both sides of Ralph's W.H. has self check out... which is something I've never scene at any other location or grocery store for that matter. This location also carries some unique and rare finds I usually only come across at whole foods especially healthy desserts, gluten free items and an abundance of organic or specialty diet wants. There definitely on pare with Whole Foods or even Sprouts for that matter and all without breaking the bank as hard as these more pricier grocery chains and seem to keep majority of things well stocked. This locations is definitely one of my favorites hands down. Still getting familiar with the huge layout and unique products they carry versus other locations. read more

Honestly the place was great until they added this new security guard. When he barely started he kept looking at us and always following us around. If we took too long trying to find something he would scream at us and tell us to hurry up. When we ask him where something is he says he doesn't know so it just proves he just follows people around. Every time we go there he always looks at people and follows them around. I remember one time it was me and my girlfriend (we're both mexican) and he started following us I told her to take a turn to see if he was actually following us then after a big group of teenagers (white btw) past by and instead of going to see what they're gonna do he took the same turn we did then we went inside the aisle and when we were half way he stopped on that same aisle and started looking at it (clearly just tryna look at us because it was empty). We never stolen anything from the store and always have our receipts. The store and employees beside the security guard are nice though. read more

However, it was on the way home this weekend and convenient to stop off to, so I did. Man, times a changed. I remember going here as a kid and this complex just being the tweak hub since a lot of their stuff used to be open 24/7 - like the Starbucks and that Ralphs was open late, and Rite Aid and Blockbuster. Well, parking lot was still nutty, but they completely re-did the inside. Seafood department was looking good, they re-did all the dairy cases in the back. Upgrade. Things were easy to find and I even picked up some decent King Crab legs for 15. Got all my veggies and meal prepped like a mofo. $75 later and I only had enough til Tuesday. Ufff...
