I just started taking my cane corso great dane mix here after trying out a few other doggie day cares. I am nothing less than impressed! She is not only a very big girl, but still a puppy and can be very difficult to handle and they do a great job. I can not only watch whats going on from their webcams, but they are great about communicating with me. The staff is friendly, attentive and the facility is extremely clean!! Not kidding! They spend hours cleaning and sanitizing!! Also as a plus side, they offer all kinds of grooming. Which is a plus if your like me and trying to tackle a small horse of a dog to get them bathed. I have a one year old bulldog and she is HYPER and loves to socialize! As much as I walk her, it felt like I could never satisfy her social needs (even at the dog park)! We found paw commons from a friend, and after day one we were HOOKED! Tootsie has a blast every time and is so exhausted after each time! Paws Commons-Gilbert is a great kennel! Our little fellow has stayed there a number of times in the past without incident. The staff are very attentive and "pet loving." The dogs are well supervised whether they're in their boarding rooms or in any of the several common play areas. Recently, we had to board our fellow there for a long term stay due to an out-of-state family emergency. Several days into his stay, we received a call informing us our little guy had been involved in an emergency that resulted in minor superficial injuries. They sent us photos and an explanation of what occurred. Dana, the on-call manager, came to arrange for emergency vet care -- on a Sunday. She took him to the emergency clinic and stayed with him for several hours keeping us updated and sending photos throughout the experience. Throughout the entire ordeal, Dana was very professional and compassionate, keeping us thoroughly informed. After returning to the kennel, she and the staff took a great deal of time caring for him since he was unable to go back into the general population. We were thoroughly impressed! As a result, we give Paw Commons a 20 out of 10 stars (if we could) to Dana, the staff, their operations, handling of this unfortunate situation, and for the loving manner and attitude they have toward all the pups entrusted in their care. I found Paw Commons last year while trying to find boarding for my American Bully, Spike. It was a last minute trip so I was a bit overwhelmed I wouldn't be able to find accommodations. I called Paw Commons and not only did they have availability at a moments notice, I could do same day drop off! They had an excellent menu of items that allowed me to customize my dogs stay to his comfort level. We have been hooked ever since. We have even expanded to using the grooming services during his stays. Sanna, his groomer, does a fantastic job and always leaves my pup looking gorgeous when I come to pick him up. Taya, the general manager, is a total gem. She is so knowledgeable and always always greets me by name. They love on my pup as if he is their own! They even provide updates on how he did during his stay. I always feel safe leaving my dog at Paw Commons. Spike loses his mind with excitement when we pull in to the parking lot because he knows he will be treated like a king during his stay there. Even my dog loves it here. He spent over an hour with us sharing information and interacting with our dog (silently assessing her needs). He was honest, direct, and experienced. I would not recommend Kennel Cough Commons. The staff is inexperienced and unprofessional. They hire unqualified people right off the street with no previous experience handling dogs. The staff constantly was mixing up my dogs records with another dog (and then calling me to come pick her up) with the same name who was a completely different breed. I came to pick up my 14 lb. dog who was supposedly showing aggressive behavior and saw a number of dogs fighting and unattended to. On top of that, my dog acquired kennel cough from another dog and not one word was mentioned about that from their staff. Take your dogs somewhere else. Dishonest and untrustworthy is not the type of words I would want to describe people who are suppose to be taking care of anyone's dog. read more

I've been meaning to write this review. I chose this place because of the reviews and the fact they have a webcam. I love having the option to 'check in' on my pup every now and then. (Indy freaking loves that orange bridge) PLUS, the times I do check in, I always see a staff member cleaning, watching over and sometimes petting the dogs... they take very good care of the dogs and watch them carefully. We have only been there a few times, but the staff immediately recognize Indy and know her name when we walk in. I am so touched by that. It is comforting to know you are leaving your pup with people that 'get it' - pets are family, too. I've signed up for their puppy class starting in August. Can't wait! We were going out of town for awhile and had never boarded our 7 month puppy anywhere. We had people who offered to check in, but honestly felt more comfortable having him in a place where there was a whole staff to monitor, not to mention the other dogs to play with. The live cam was also a huge selling point, but sadly where we were didn't have service so I wasn't able to check it after all. But I still trust he had a good time based on other pics and reviews I've seen. Upon pickup, he Cam bounding our so happy to see us. They were even able to fit us in for a spur of the moment nail grind. Plus cheaper than PetSmart where I've taken him before, so even better. That day, he crashed hard. Horrible place to take your pets. When I picked up my dog she was so pent up with energy, it was as if she got no attention from them, even though we paid for individual playtime. The people that work there were real super fake, especially after I picked her up, as if there was something there hiding. I got her home and saw these sores on her elbows. The food we sent her was not given to her as we instructed. When we called to see how she was doing, no one knew. A few things... 1. I had to tell multiple people on multiple occasions that I didn't want my dog playing with other dogs, and they all acted like it was news to them. No one noted it, and I'm not sure if he still played with other dogs because him (and my moms dog who only played with my dog and was boarded at the same time) came home with KENNEL COUGH. 2. I got a call a couple days before coming home stating my dog was out of food, which I thought was weird because I packed plenty, so I gave them permission to feed him something else. Well.. this caused severe diarrhea. Which happens... but when I got my things back he still had food in his bag? 3. The diarrhea... when I picked him up he was covered in it. His legs, chest, tail, paws.... Had they not made me pay before seeing my dog I would have requested they bathe him. I even asked if they would rinse him off if something like that happened and they said yes. So he had a bright red, sore butt, and was covered in poop, and no one seemed to care, or care enough to call and ask if I wanted him to have a bath. Overall, I didn't feel like they cared much about the dogs. Will be finding somewhere else for next time. read more

This is a tough experience to share. TL;DR: I boarded my dog at Paw Commons for 5 nights. Several days later, my dog became ill and nearly died. While it cannot be proven exactly where my pup contracted this illness, the only change in his environment was this boarding facility. Full story: My dog spent five nights and nearly 6 days at Paw Commons. The employees were friendly and the place looked and smelled nice. (My dog has done many long days of daycare at other facilities but has never been boarded.) The days following my dog's stay at Paw Commons, he began to show odd signs; drinking an obscene amount of water, lack of bladder control, and extreme lethargy. Four days after picking him up from Paw Commons, I took him to the vet. After days and nearly $1000 of tests, it was confirmed that he had contracted Leptospirosis, an awful, deathly disease that has quietly been circulating around town. Most boarding and daycare facilities have very visible signs urging the "Lepto" vaccine. Paw Commons does not. They claim this is a clear requirement for boarding yet failed to communicate this to me. They did, however, require a second Bordatella shot and requested those records upon check-in. I informed Paw Commons about my dog's illness and asked if any other dogs who had stayed there had reported illnesses. Of course, they said no. While I don't doubt Paw Commons' intention to run an honest, high-quality facility, they maintain that there's really no way to confirm that the virus was contracted in their facility. To that point, there's no way to confirm it was NOT contracted there. Please be aware of the risks you take before bringing your pet to this, or any other, boarding facility. I have spent over $2,000 and nearly lost my dog to this virus. I am trying to find out the number of reported Lepto cases in the Valley as I'm curious if it is more common in the East Valley. My dog's exposure was the only case our Scottsdale vet has seen. read more

We bring our dog Maisie to Paw Commons Gilbert for everything! She loves this place and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them. She gets so excited when we pull up to the parking lot for daycare. We love that we can see her playing with her buddies Dobby and Waffle on the camera whenever we leave her there. We have kept her there for boarding a few times and have always come home with a happy healthy dog and nicely groomed too! The groomer, Tricia, does an awesome job with Maisie. Usually Maisie is a little squirmy when you try to do anything with her but she stays nice and calm for Tricia and comes out looking adorable. Lastly, we cannot say enough about the amazing work the lead trainer, Ryan, did with Maisie during her lodge and learn. Maisie is a sweet dog but can be stubborn when it comes to training. We could not get her crate trained for the life of us and eventually gave up. We continued having issues with her having accidents in the house and keeping us up at night. After a 10-day lodge and learn with Ryan she's a new puppy and we get to sleep at night! It's been 4 months since her lodge and learn and she sleeps soundly in her crate every night and rarely has any accidents (if she does, it's usually our fault for not taking her out soon enough). We even have great success with teaching her new commands to this day. We are so grateful to have found paw commons for our little pup. read more

I can confidently say that Paw Commons, the incredibly friendly/helpful staff both in person on the phone, and the GM Taya (I'm so sorry if I butchered the spelling) provided a better experience than I could have hoped for. Tip: even though they say they will get the vet records for you, they failed twice to do so and didn't let me know either time. I brought the records with me the second time... glad I did. Had my 55 lb labradoodle groomed there and she looked great, but I was just surprised that it ran $95 for grooming & teeth; particularly since they shaved her. I called to set up an appointment and from that moment to when I picked up our Fizzgig they didn't falter in their customer service. They were really friendly and professional. Absolutely terrible service. Was gonna try this place because I found a groupon for it and it is not worth it. We bought the groupon and made an appointment and they gathered all the info over the phone and told us to bring paper copies. They knew I had administer the basic vaccines myself as I told them over the phone and the rabies was done by a vet. I drove over 30 minutes one way to get here and then as I'm checking in they decide to tell me it needed to be approved by a vet beforehand and they cannot accept the grooming appointment. Highly unprofessional service as they knew well beforehand that it was administered by me and they let me setup everything and drive all this way knowing that and then they say you cannot do anything anymore. The icing on the cake is I administer all the shots to my family's dogs and I KNOW they have taken it before because I had my family bring their dogs here. Yet suddenly it's no longer valid? VERY unprofessional and discourteous to have made me drive all this way and to not have told me prior to the appointment about this "new rule". Will not be back here again and I'll make sure none of our other dogs will be either. Save your money and find a different groomer, the savings even with the Groupon aren't worth it. Paw Commons in for the rescue! Without notice, we had some maintenance stomping on our roof at 6:30AM and our poor Del thought someone was trying to break in. Not sure how to protect us from the unknown from above, our little guy couldn't handle it. We took him to Paw Commons to spend the day with some furry company. Del loved it there! The staff is so friendly and professional! I love that they have many play area options to keep my calm sweet boy with others like himself and the ruff tumblers in another area. They keep everything so clean it looks like a preschool for pups! My favorite is that you can go to their website and watch a webcam set up the in play pens so when you're missing your best bud you can tune in and see how they're doing. Dobby has been coming here for almost a year now for daycare. He loves it! He has made many friends and has become a well socialized dog. The staff here are great too. They seem to care about your pets. When he first started coming, he was afraid of the staff. But now, when I drop him off, he is all happy and goes right up to the ones he knows. He's still timid if it is a new person. I love that they have a web cam to check in on him. I get to see him playing with his bff Maisy. We worked with the trainer Ryan on some of Dobby's issues. I can take Dobby in public without getting nervous that he'll start barking like crazy at other dogs. Ryan was very good at explaining the why's and how's so you understand the reason for the exercise. That helps me knowing what to do when Dobby starts a new unwanted behavior. We'll be going back for more training soon. There are a few more things we need to work on. I would recommend this place and if you have an issue, let the manager know because she will do her best to resolve it. read more

The bad news: despite the appearance that every dog has all vaccinations, my dog got a wicked case of kennel cough, resulting in veterinary expenses. I also dislike that they've expanded the kennels and reduced the overall indoor play area for the big dogs. Bad move! The good news: my dog loves coming here. We always pay for all day play though, which is expensive. We also have always paid for premium bath and grooming on last day so when we pick him up he's clean and pretty again (long hair golden so grooming is a need). We now have 2 dogs as we adopted a rescue. I don't know that we can afford Paw Common rates with 2 dogs, but overall we've had good experiences with them. read more

We started bringing our dog, Lilly, to Paw Commons about 2 months ago. Which is when we moved to AZ from NY. From the beginning I was hesitant to leave her with anyone for a whole day, because of her high anxiety levels. However, Paw Commons made sure she was safe and having fun the whole time she was there. It was a work in progress, as at first she only stayed near the gate. But now every time I check the webcam she is in the middle of the play area. Lilly is pooped out by the time she gets home, she snores the entire way home in the car! I've taken my dog Fitz here 2 times, and my dog had a blast each time. They let you tune in into their webcams and i love watching my dog all day. If a dog pees or poos, they clean it up right away. We love Paw Commons. We have used them twice for boarding, three times for grooming, and we even took our dog to get pictures with Santa there. The staff is always friendly and they love our boy, Ouija (even when he pees on the floor with excitement every time we drop him off and pick him up). The place is always spotless, which is important when there are a bunch of dogs running around. I also love that they have the webcams you can watch then your dog is in the play area. When our family went to Disneyland I was able to watch Ouija on the webcams while waiting in line. The only reason I'm not giving them a full five stars is because my husband had a less than great experience with the groomer last time he was there. The cut itself was fine, the groomer was just less than friendly when my husband made the appointment and brought our boy in. We have been taking our dogs to another boarding location, but I waited too long to get a reservation and they were booked for this past weekend that my family was out of town. I had been following Paw Commons on Instagram since they opened and so we decided to try them out. From my very first drop in visit to the day we picked up our dogs there was nothing but excellent customer service and a real personal feel. One of the things that I really loved was being able to watch my pups on the cameras. It was really fun to take a moment to check in on them and made us feel confident that they were having a great time. We did have a small issue with the billing, but we called and they fixed the error right away and issued a refund. We have a 3 year old German Shepherd who was attacked by another dog about 6 months ago. We did major socializing when she was a puppy so she would not be dog or people aggressive but this one incident ruined everything. She became fearful and aggressively responsive to people and other dogs. We tried everything to bring her back to her normal sweet and friendly self but nothing worked. People couldn't come to our house without her lunging and barking. My vet recommended paw commons saying that they had a new trainer. I called and was right away met with a "bring her in so we can talk and see her!" We have another dog who is a lab that is high strung, nervous of all people and animals and has horrible separation anxiety when separated from her sister. I told Ryan that this was the case and he said to bring her too! We ultimately ended up doing a board and train with Ryan because we were so impressed with just the first meeting! Board and train was 15 days! 15 days of the staff loving on them, getting them used to other dogs and people, of training them to listen to commands and working out all the annoyingly bad habits. We went to pick up our babies and my dogs are completely like new! Confident, loving, not nervous and they are listening to commands! Ryan spent some time with us and even showed us and had us do all the commands with my German Shepherd. Ryan is amazing! He even involved my children and that is a feat in itself!!! We are so blessed to have met Ryan and the team at paw commons! Thank you guys so much! We will continue to do training (if the need again arises) doggie daycare, grooming and boarding!
