The haircut was uneven in certain areas and they trimmed him too short on the head and -- his beautiful boot like paws -- were gone.!They totally trimmed it off without any thought to design or style. Let me preface by stating that I've been to large chain groomers this past year with our large pup (sheepdog) Winston. The work done has always been mediocre and the treatment was very transactional. However, at this location, it was the total opposite. The team is very responsive both via Yelp messaging and text messages. Not only responsive but also very friendly staff. They also provided pickup option for little extra $10. Not bad at all. The prices are very reasonable and the groomer communicated with me to ensure my needs were met. All in all, despite the negative feedback, to each his own. In my personal experience, this was not a negative experience and I highly recommend their services. Thank you team! It was my first time coming to this location. When I called initially to make the appointment for a wash and nail trim, whoever picked up the phone didn't even confirm their address. Also seemed a bit harried. I let that go, but then I realized a couple days later that I hadn't confirmed the address. I called the number on yelp and the person who answered seemed a bit annoyed? I'm sorry, but I'm new to the area and I wanted to make sure that I drive to the correct location. I decided to let it go and show up to my dog's appointment. They were checking in 2 dogs before mine, so I waited in the shade on the side. However, I wasn't really greeted and I had no idea what I needed to do for a good 5 to 10 minutes. They then had me put my dog into a pen, take off the harness and collar, all while they left the gate open to go and check the clipboard outside. I had to squeeze myself into the pen, but I ended up getting somewhat stuck and my dog almost went outside into the parking lot. It was a little too awkward for my taste, especially since they helped the two dogs get checked in and walked them in for the owner. The head groomer told me that they'll text or call me in 1 to 2 hours to let me know when my dog was done. Well, I waited 2 and 1/2 hours and no one contacted me. I ended up calling the business number listed on Yelp. I guess it's the groomer's personal phone. She then TEXTED me that she's driving and would I like to schedule an appointment. I just responded asking if my dog was done. She didn't apologize or anything, just said "yesss." Had I not contacted her, would anyone have called or texted me? I showed up at the salon and my dog's fur was still damp. Also, no one mentioned anything about wanting to have called or texted me, so I'm sure that no one would've contacted me in advance. I tipped $10 on top of my $40, which I always do at my normal grooming salon in MID-CITY. I had already planned on tipping that much, but had I known that my dog's fur was still going to be damp, I wouldn't have tipped that. The whole experience was so subpar. Maybe it's okay for this area? Not sure, but please don't say that you know how to clean corgis when his fur is still damp 2.5 hours after I dropped him off. My other grooming salon gets him washed, dried, nails clipped, and teeth brushed within 1 and 1/2 hours AND manages to get him into his harness. Oh! I also had to put my dog's harness on myself, which would have been fine, but not when the he's in the tiny pen that I can't even fit into properly. At least offer assistance? Don't just stand there and watch me struggle, maybe? I've also had grooming done at PetSmart, and even their customer service is much better. I wanted to give local businesses my support, but I will stick to driving to my old local grooming salon. I'd rather drive an extra miles and sit in freeway traffic to get the service that I am used to. read more

They make up pricing. I was told one thing and at pickup they upped the price $30 dollars for custom work when I clarified what was being done. They left my dog matted and charged me extra to remove it. This is sad how a company is taking advantage of their clients. I was charged $110 for a a basic wash and shave for a 55 lb golden doodle. Tried taking my wooly(long haired) husky here for a bath, deshed, and trim for the first time. Got an appointment the next day. When I arrived I was told there were 2 dogs ahead of him and that it may take a while. I would've booked another day if they were busy. But they took him right away to get bathed. 4 hours later, I'm told he's ready. My husky wanted to leave and kept trying to get out of the shop while I was paying which was unusual cause he loves to get groomed. He gets groomed elsewhere every 2 months since he was a puppy but my other groomer is on maternity leave. Grooming him usually only took 2 hours for my past groomer. Before leaving the shop, I wasn't able to inspect him in the shop because he kept wanting to leave. When I got home, I noticed his butt area was shaved down the middle and between his hind legs soo short that his pink skin was visible. I told the groomer just to trim and clean up his behind. Not shave it. Trim is with scissors like a sanitary trim. Huskies aren't supposed to be shaved like that. And then his hair on his back looked combed but when i ran may hand through his hair, there were lumps of hair knotted and matted together. My dog has never had matting. I contacted my past groomer and she said they didn't dry him right and fully comb him out to deshed his undercoat. Now he's walking around with a pink butt and a bunch of knots in his fur. He won't even let me check the skin to make sure there aren't any cuts. I have to take him to another groomer to take out the knots and matting and I'm hoping they won't have to fully shave him. I tried to call and text the owner Wen(Sarah) to tell her and ask for a full refund. She sent me $10 and started yelling at me that it took 3 hours to bathe him and hung up. Now she is ignoring me. That is not ok to treat customers like that. If they don't have experience with his kind of hair they should've told me. I even sent a picture of him when I made an appointment. No apology or even the offer to fix his hair. My poor husky may have to be shaved all over due to their mistake. If they were busy and didn't have the time, I would've brought him another day. Sadly will not be coming back with the way the owner responded this issue. They were great with my chihuahuas years ago when they had their mobile van. But unfortunately not with my husky in their shop I am updating to also add that they also shaved his groin area so short that you can see his pink skin. He keeps licking the area because it is red. I did not ask for him to be shaved anywhere and did not approve for them to touch that area. read more

I hate to put down a business but this place truly deserves it. I use to work at this grooming salon called pawfect express on Montebello Blvd. for a few weeks before I seen how unorganized and inhumane there ways of working were. I finally left after I had to revive and give cpr to someone's pet that one of the groomers mistreated and tied to tight. None of them had experience in a situation like this and I quickly jumped in and did cpr until pet regained consciousness and was in shock. They then gave pet back to the customer and told them that their dog was a difficult dog without even mentioning anything about what had really happened to the dog. It was shocking to see what had happened but even more shocking that they didn't mention anything to the pet parent about what had happened. Their pet could have suffered from brain damage or many other serious health conditions. Working there I took pictures of the pets that were "ready" to be picked up and the conditions they were in with irritated skin, razor burns, and nicks and by looking at the reviews on here you can clearly see. They also use concentrated shampoos which clearly state they need to be diluted or they can be extremely harmful to dogs skin and coat not only that they mistreat the pets that have a hard time with grooming. Yes you may have to be more stern and assertive with anxious and aggressive dogs but making there grooming experience traumatic for them is just not right there is many other ways to work with dogs and get the groom done even if the dog is giving u a hard time you still shouldn't mistreat animals. I understand accidents happen and especially with animals but not these type of accidents especially the ways they are hurt and how they were treated. This place only cares about money yes the prices may be a steal compared to other groomers but your getting what you pay for a crappy job and your pet having to go through a traumatic grooming experience. They only care about the money and not for your pets so if you care about you babies do not take them here !!!! read more

My cat Boyo needed relief from some very large and very hard matted balls of fur on his backside. I had been either turned down or ignored by other groomers. Boyo was suffering and was utterly miserable due to the discomfort of those mats so I tried Yelp a 3rd time and the first response was from the lovely Sarah, owner of Pawfect Express in Montebello. She said she was available and I set up an appointment right away. I booked for 10 a.m. the very next day. I ran into problems that imposed some serious delays and was forced to reschedule. Sarah was very understanding and extremely flexible. The appointment was rescheduled for 2 p.m. that same day but further delays had me arriving at around 3:30 p.m. I was embarrassed but her assistant who received us was very kind and welcoming. My first impression, I admit, was one of concern due mostly to the very flimsy safety system in place which consists of a baby gate and a glass door which would be more than adequate except they don't keep the glass door locked and at one point when some clients and their dog were let in, leaving the glass door fully open, I rushed to it to close it and the assistsnt said it was OK to leave it open. That's when I began to worry tremendously about the possibility of Boyo escaping. Again, kind of embarrassing to admit but I had a full on anxiety attack after I left him there. I didn't get dramatic or anything but I did cry and wonder if that was the best place I could've taken him to. Right as I began to get all tragic about it and began having thoughts of him escaping and running out onto the busy streets, I got a text from Sarah with updates which included photos and videos of my Boyo being remarkably well behaved during the stressful grooming session. That's when I knew I had selected the right place and that Sarah had a great rapport with cats. My anxiety faded away and I quite frankly felt like a fool for getting so nervous but what can I say? I love my Boyo and although the security should ideally be upgraded to something more secure, these ladies care about your pets and are careful with them. I initially only wanted them to literally just shave the mats off and go due to wanting to reduce Boyo's quite dramatic reaction to being placed in a carrier and riding in my car. That alone caused him to begin panting as if he couldn't breathe and he had a very mournful meow that I had never heard before. So I just wanted the minimal work done to spare him prolonged suffering but I ended up adding services including a nail trim and a bath because of Sarah's delicate, magic touch had eased his nerves and helped reassure me that he would be OK. I recommend Sarah and her assistant for all your pet grooming needs. I subtracted a single star for the flimsy security system but other than that the business is great, they work fast, follow directions precisely, and are as professional as they come. I will be coming back for future pet grooming needs. Thanks for giving my Boyo the relief he so desperately needed! read more

Then a lady was leaving her adult husky with them and they lost the husky. She ran right out the door and down busy Montebello Blvd. The owner of the dog went running after her dog and what do the employees do? They stood and watched her chase her dog. I was very grateful that the groomers allowed me to stay with my dogs while they were being groomed.
