Sales people (owners?) aren't very friendly. We went in tonight to buy a collar and dog cookies. We just went in, they didn't really greet us. Then after a minute or two of looking they yelled "just to let you know, we close in 5 minutes!" So we just left without buying anything. read more

Wow! Much nicer and cozier than the warehouse one in town. Don't get me wrong. I do go to Petsmart but I wouldn't mind driving to the Foothills, just nine miles east off the I-8. First, you are greeted by a warm welcome from Brittney, the nice lady who was at the register. She offered my pup a couple of bites of a freeze-dried treat. You start walking around and you can't help but feel in awe of the wide variety of top quality dry and wet foods from various companies such as Canidae, Blue, Fromm and several others. They have an ample selection of toys! We picked up a week's worth of canned foods for my Micky (because we want to go back next week and every week after that LoL). We also saw and purchased a swim vest and a water dispenser bottle, which will be really useful for our beach trips to San Diego. Proof of how good this store is? As a person who has worked in the customer service industry, in my opinion, it's a must to greet potential customers when they walk into your store. It just welcomes people and makes them feel acknowledged. As corny as it may sound, it takes a second of your time, and for me makes ALL difference. So why start off a review with a rant like this? Well because this was my first visit into the store and I wasn't greeted when I walked in :( And as small as the store is, there really is no excuse for it. But, after browsing around for a a few minutes, I was eventually greeted and offered assistance. Although late, it's better than not at all, right? Right :) On to the rest of my review. I gotta say that I am sooooo stoked to have stumbled across this place in Yuma. I had seen it a few times but never bothered to go in until a few days ago. I'm a HUGE fan of natural pet foods and NEVER thought I'd find a store in Yuma until I went in here. They carry a lot of the same natural dog foods that I buy in CA as well as dog treats. In fact, they have a wider selection of dog treats which took me by surprise! Ones that I haven't seen before and that's just awesome. However, I did notice that it was slightly more expensive, which was a little shocking to me. But nonetheless, awesome place! Not only do they carry natural dog food and treats, they offer natural cat food/treats, bird food, and a variety of pet supplies and toys. I was very impressed with the wide selection of items that they had in such a tiny store. They even had a huge wall of pet leashes and collars. Great find for me in Yuma! They even gave me a little doggie bag of their most popular treats at check out! Definitely going back again. read more

Mike and Lora are the best! They are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the products they sell. They carry a wide variety of top quality foods and treats for dogs and cats. They also carry stuff for birds and small mammals (mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, bunnies, etc.) but since I don't own any of those, I don't pay attention to those parts of the store. They are also great about ordering products for you if you request it...I know they special order a low quality food for a customer's dog since that is the only food it will eat. I have even had to have them order a harness that I wanted for my Husky. My Pembroke Welsh Corgi and Husky are always spoiled with lots treats and love whenever we go there...definitely their most favorite place to go to lol. Best pet store in all of Yuma. The owners are always at the store and greet me every time I am in the store. Both of them are a wealth of information and they even have gone out and found extremely high quality dog food and super cheap prices (Premium Edge). This stuff is ~$35 and is higher quality that the nutro ultra (~$60) that I had been buying. Prices on everything else are extremely competitive, even when compared to Petsmart. Plus its great to support this wonderful local couple. They also have a self wash pet station which is wonderful. read more

The owners are extremely knowledgeable especially with regards to their pet products. Store is clean, has lots of product stocked that you don't see at stores like Petsmart. Great customer service, their staff is very helpful. They seem to make it a mission to beat competitor's prices on same products. Very pet friendly, pets welcome, my dogs enjoy the free doggy bags of treats they get at the end of a purchase. We love this place and the owners are the nicest people ever. They helped me learn why it was better for my pets to go to a better brand of food. I thought Iams was a good food, boy was I wrong. Every time I go there they know me and ask about my family and that's what I love about this family owned business. They offer great products and service. If you have any questions about their products you should ask, you'll be amazed ant what you'll learn. I don't mind paying more for a better quality food and really I think they're fairly priced. I bought the same food at another store while I was on vacation and it cost the same. Even if the food did cost a little more I would still buy from them because, we should support our small business owners. The people at petsmart or Walmart are never friendly, they have no idea who I am and have no interest in knowing any of that....they just want my cash and for me to get out. Support small America and buy from your local business owners, they have families to feed. BTW they give you a discount if your're military...Walmart or petsmart never did that for me, so Paws And Tails can have my business all day long! So glad they are in Yuma! read more
