Where to begin... I have used several different dog boarding/daycare places over the years and Melissa and Jonathon and staff at Paws at Play are 1000% the best around. It's like leaving your baby with a favorite aunt and uncle. This is the first time in all 10 yrs of our baby's life that I have not really worried or missed her while gone because I knew she was in great hands. We traveled internationally for 12 days and it was the longest we've been away from her in her golden years. Because of her being a bit older, we were worried about her stress/anxiety level and overall energy level. Melissa reassured me that if they noticed her lagging or seemed overwhelmed, they would let her rest in her kennel rather than keep her in the play yard for 12 straight hours. Also love that they take all the dogs in at lunch time for a "nap" time and she sent daily videos with personal commentary. When I went to pick her up, they had just finished laundering her blanket and stuffy! Our baby and her bed did not come home stinking like a$$ like they have when they come home from other places. This is a testament to how clean they keep the yard and kennels. One of the many best things about Paws at Play is that they also are mindful of how many dogs they take in at a time. It's obvious they're in it to care for the dogs, not to just pack in as many as they can get to make more $$. It's obvious too that the dogs here are the babies of only the dog parents that are willing to dig deep and do a bit of research to find the best possible home away from home. We did a lot of research and visited many boarding facilities before we found Paws at Play one year and a half ago and it became our pup's home away from home. The owners Melissa and Jonathan are very passionate about their business and you can see their level of care and commitment in everything that happens at Paws at Play: the carefully followed schedule, the attention they pay to your dog's dietary/feeding needs, the cleanliness and cuteness of their doggy suites, the shaded outdoor yards where the dogs are not only placed with same sized dogs, but are also supervised by Jonathan, Melissa and their amazing staff who make sure every dog feels comfortable either playing with other dogs or petted and cared for by them when they're not feeling so social or if they're anxious. This has by far been the best doggy day care/boarding experience I have had over the years. Melissa and Johnathan have created a space where you can see and feel their love for taking care of the dogs and the clients. I have been taking my golden lab, Stella to them for close to a year and they have shown nothing but love and care for her. When I visited the facility for the first time I was welcomed and taken on a tour to see where my dog would be spending her day and taking her afternoon naps. The yards are a good size and very well maintained. The kennels in the back are clean, temperature controlled and a larger size than I have seen in other locations. Your dog will not be caged up behind a chain link kennel. It's an inviting space and enough room for a large dog to walk around in. I knew from that moment; this was going to be a second home for Stella. I take Stella to day care 4-5 days a week here and I will get pictures and videos at times to show me how she is doing. She gets plenty of interaction and play time and is wiped out by the time I get her home. Their hours of day care are perfect for my work schedule. I never worry about her being with them, they are so kind with her and have gotten to know her so well that I am assured my girl is taken care of each day she is with them. I have taken Stella to other day cares, and she has never opened up or become so comfortable so quickly with the humans and other dogs like she has at this place. Stella gets excited in the car when I am dropping her off for her day care and runs to Johnathan and Melissa when she sees them. She loves all the staff members that work there. Seeing her react that way gives me such comfort in knowing how much they genuinely care and love her. When Stella had a sprained ankle, they made sure that she was getting the proper rest and was not playing hard while she was recovering. The Trainer, Rafael, is so patient with her and all her energy. Stella lights up with Megan. It's hard to get her to leave sometimes because she adores this staff as much as they do her. They have been so accommodating with her lunches that require minor set up. I love getting the run-down of her day when I pick her up. I have boarded Stella with them twice and I knew since they had someone on site 24 hours, she was not going to be alone which gives me great comfort. I talk about Stella's experience and their business with anyone that has a dog. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are looking for a place where your dog will be treated with kindness, be around a team that is attentive, and has a genuine passion for what they do, this is the place to go. If you are looking to support local businesses, they will not disappoint. They do a far superior job in this type of business than other locations and franchises I have gone to. I am also so impressed how clean the place is and how inviting the entire property feels. I added some of the photos they have posted on this page to show you how happy she is when she is there. I know that smile and her tail wags are non-stop while she is visiting. I am very selective about who takes care of her, and I trust them fully with her. They have taken time to really get to know her, her behaviors and how she interacts with the other dogs. I have never experienced a day care or boarding business that puts this much love into ensuring the pups are taken care of. The dogs and the clients are not a number, they are part of the crew! We are very happy choosing Paws at Play for bringing our doggy here for daycare. Our dog is enjoying herself so much and having a wonderful time! She's still a young pup and we wanted her to be exposed to other dogs in a "slow introduction" setting as part of her training. They are very familiar with dog behavior and understand the importance of providing a healthy, safe and secure environment for your dog. They make sure that all dogs being boarded for daycare or overnight are evaluated for the safety of not only for your dog but for other dogs as well. They also ensure all vaccinations are up to date for all dogs before allowing them to be boarded. A daily video of your dog at play is also provided so that you can see how they're doing. I searched all the boarding facilities for dogs and this worked out great for us. Jonathan and Melissa went above and beyond to make us feel safe and secure leaving our dogs with them while we had a weekend getaway in Anaheim. They gave us a quick tour around their facility and it is spotless and pristine. Jonathan showed us around the kitchen and the kennels and giving us a breakdown of how they manage the day and the dogs. In my experience, most boarding facilities won't give you a behind the scenes look, so it was really nice to be able to look around! They sent me daily updates with videos and photos. My rescue, Zeus is a little shy around other dogs and Melissa took extra care with him to make sure he felt comfortable, and surely within a few hours, I got a video where Zeus was playing with Otter like a puppy, bouncing around. Rosie is my third dog and the only one we've ever needed to board. Melissa, Johnathan and their staff run a clean, efficient and organized facility. They took the time through their evaluation process to ensure that my dog would be a good fit with the other dogs in their care. It's apparent that they really and truly care for all the dogs that walk through their door, either to enjoy doggy day care or in need of boarding. Their suggestions regarding the days of the week and how often Rosie needed to attend were based on careful observation of her interaction with other dogs and her anxiety level. I was so anxious to have to leave my sweet pup, but it really was the best decision we made to ease her into playing and entrusting the safety, comfort and companionship our Rosie needed while we were away. This review is long overdue. I can't say enough good things about Paws At Play and the dedicated owners Melissa and Jonathan. My three year old Belgian Malinois Koa is not just our dog but she is family that is a part of our emotional life and we would not leave her in any other hands especially for boarding. Koa always comes home so tired and she gets so excited when we pull in and never looks back after I hand her over. Koa attends day care at least three times a week as she's a Mal and needs the stimulation and socialization. We have boarded several times and each time she has come home healthy and happy. I had previously stopped boarding her at other facilities cause it was either anxiety, kernel cough or behavioral issues she would would have when she retimed home so if we could not find a doggy sitter we didn't go. Now we are very comfortable leaving her in Melissa and Jonathans care. The facility is clean, beautiful and don't let size fool you cause Koa is a big girl and gets lots of exercise playing all day. Other positive aspects of PAP is they don't take just any dog as I have seen them turn away other who have dogs with major issues and for those who don't care for a reservation system, I hadn't either however I have gotten used to it as it's very user friendly and it assist me in planning ahead and most importantly I know the facility isn't taking in a number of dogs beyond their capacity and my girl is safe. Moreover they have a trainer on staff which gives me ease as they have a variety of dogs which is another thing I love about the owners and they don't judge the dogs by breed, background or size. This is a long review but I have been to other doggy day cares in OC and my family and I have been so disappointed in ourselves for ever leaving our Koa in some of those places and I don't want others to make the same mistake. read more

This place is amazing - we recently boarded our little Mini Aussie Charlie here for about a week. I was a little bit nervous as this was his first boarding experience --he has unlimited energy and is quite a handful to say the least, but he was completely at home here and extremely well looked after. The owners love dogs and really want to make this place the best experience it can be. As soon as I went in the door I knew we would have zero worries. We got sent photos and videos every day and I can tell that our little boy had the best time, he had plenty of other friends to play with and had a great sleep every night. I just recently started going here, maybe about 1-2 times a week for about a month. I cannot express how happy I am to have found this place and bringing my lil poodle mix here! Melissa is sooo helpful in giving the info one needs to make an informed decision about whether or not it's a good fit for you. Despite all the info though... You can only judge off how your dog behaves when you go to drop them off and pick them up. My dog used to bolt out of the daycare I took her too before this, but now she just runs around and plays in the lobby when I pick her up. When I drop her off, she does her "head out paws out butt up tornado tail waggle". It almost hurts how my pup forgets me when I drop her off LOL... But regardless, I would 10/10 recommend. The lobby always smells clean and fresh for a dog facility. And I haven't seen random debris or poop on her fur unlike the other place so I know she's being looked after here. Also, Melissa will take pictures and videos to show you how they're doing too! Even helps keep you informed if your dog is getting along well and takes the time to find things to engage the dog (mine loves humans, splash pads, and balls, other dogs... They have gone above and beyond to care for my two fur babies and have treated them as if they were their own pets. Words cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for this facility, Jonathan, Melissa, and their staff. Willem is a particular dog with a specific set of needs and behaviors which are met with grace and compassion. The facility is immaculate and has an open door policy. "Tours anytime" they stated when I inquired initially about their facility and services. The free play area is open and airy with ample space for friends to play. The nap and boarding area are equipped with oversized temperature controlled kennels. The food prep area is sanitized and has storage for refrigerated or dry food depending on your dog's needs. They also provide grooming services! They do a superior job of communicating updates throughout daycare and boarding stays. We love paws at play. I have a VERY hyper dog and we decided to try out doggy daycare last year. Now When we approach the building, he is practically leaping out of the car because he knows it's time to play at his favorite place! He absolutely loves it here. The staff is very friendly and keeps the facility clean and well run. It is easy to book daycare appointments, the drop off and pick up process is quick and easy, and my dog is always exhausted after (in the best way). They make sure they don't take on over a certain amount of dogs in a day, which for me thats so reassuring that they cap it in order to have a safe environment. They could easily not cap it to make more money, but they cap it because they genuinely care about our pets and giving all pets a safe, wonderful experience! I trust the judgement of the staff so much and know that my dog would never be put in danger while playing with other dogs here (can't say that's always the case at other facilities). I'm an anxious dog mom and I would trust paws at play with my dog any day. I love that they also evaluate your dogs personality and find the best environment for your dog to be in, so even the mellow dogs get great care in a space that works for them.
