Turns out our 60 lb Border Collie mix prefers recess with the "Littles", and this was happily accommodated. We are very reluctant to leave our pup for lengths of time, she has some emotional issues that came with her when we adopted her as an adult dog. Thrilled to report she received the best loving care at Mountain Top, and the proof was that she marched right in on her second stay with no trepidation. That says it all. We don't often travel without our pup pup. But when we do, we know she is safe and happy staying here. It is a beautiful property and top notch care.

Our dog had been attending weekly--sometimes twice a week--for almost a year, 45 times in total. Each time we picked him up, we made it a point to ask, "How did he do today?" and every single time, we received positive feedback that "he did great." Based on these 45 visits, we thought everything was going well and that the daycare staff was happy with his behavior. We'd even invested in training sessions (both private and group) through them. Then, a month ago, the owner (whom we hadn't met before) was the one to retrieve him. We saw through the window as she aggressively put on his collar and yanked him out. We were taken aback, but after learning that other former clients had left due to her and issues similar to this, we didn't bother to complain. We hoped it was a one-off incident. Unfortunately, things got worse. Last week, we dropped him off for his usual visit and received a call just two hours later from--you guessed it--the owner, informing us that our dog was permanently banned for being "too hyper" and "endangering other dogs with his running." This was not only a shock but incredibly frustrating. He wasn't aggressive or harmful to any other dog; he was simply being a dog. For an establishment marketed as a daycare, you'd expect some understanding of typical canine energy. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, as their own trainer has stated on more than one occasion. When we pressed for details, we were told this was the "final strike" and that our dog "doesn't listen." This accusation was both unfair and absurd, especially since we were never informed, not even once, that his behavior was supposedly an issue. Let's not forget we invested heavily in training with their staff. If his behavior truly was a problem, then the training was a complete waste. On more than one occasion, we had watched through the window after dropping him off, and the daycare often looked chaotic, with dogs running all over and a single worker standing there, blowing a whistle and tossing treats without any structure. Looking back, it also explains why our dog would vomit almost every day after his visits, on top of the smell of urine and rubber that lingered on him after each stay. He even contracted Giardia twice, which should have been a red flag for us to stop going much sooner. To add insult to injury, we still had one private training session left, but when we requested a refund for it, we were met with resistance and disbelief from the trainer, who claimed they "can't really refund one training lesson." The lack of professionalism, transparency, and basic respect for clients here is astounding. Save your time, money, and peace of mind, and steer clear of Doggone Fun Doggy Daycare.

They are clean, organized, always have 2+ persons on staff, and the owner is a dog trainer and behavioralist. She knows exactly how to train staff and keep the dogs safe and happy! Also they use chemical free cleaner for clean ups so it's not toxic to the dogs if on their paws and lick. I know about 10 other people who are just as obsessed with their fur babies as I am, and none of us have had issues. Highly recommend.

I do not recommend this place. I tried their self service dog wash. Their tubs are too flimsy for…read morelarge dogs. And their shampoo's are so watered down that it just squirts out like tapwater. If you do go, you need to bring your own shampoo. On top of that, the "shampoo" smelled like something that's used commercially to mop floors. I've never smelled that smell before and a shampoo. God only knows what I was washing my dog with. When I asked the guy why the shampoos were so watery, he said that "they were running low so they added some water so that they would go farther until their next shipment arrived." Despite my better judgment, I also brought my Shih Tzu there for full grooming because she needed a haircut. When I dropped her off for her APPOINTMENT, the person that was going to groom her told me it would take a couple of hours meaning she would be ready by 11am, having a 9a appointment. At 11:15am I called the store to see if my dog was ready. The Store manager answered the phone and informed me that she would be ready around 2 PM because "they had a lot of walk-ins and other dogs that needed to be groomed too". I said well that's why I made an appointment and that the lady that was grooming my dog said that she would only take about two hours and would be ready at 11 AM. This person on the phone continued to argue with me about "you don't know how dog grooming businesses work," among other abrasive comments. I had gone out to run errands during these two hours and was nearby which is why I called. I decided to go ahead and go over there and pick up my dog - in whatever condition she was in. I figured if she was going to be another 3 hours, she was probably still in a cage waiting for her bath. When I arrived, they brought up my dog, who appeared to have already had her bath and haircut, Which made me extra confused - if she was already finished why did they tell me that she wouldn't be ready until 2 PM? When it was time to pay, one of the employees had to go back and ask what the charge would be for the grooming service. He came back flustered and said it would be $90! For a 15 pound Shih Tzu! I asked why it was so high, and he just said that's the price he was told. I asked to see a price sheet and he acted like he didn't know if one existed. Then he pulled out a price sheet that was laminated on a chain right there by the cash register and told me how these were "old prices from years ago" when he first started even though it was on a chain and laminated and right there dangling from the cash register. The price sheet for a Shih Tzu said $65 and up. I would certainly like to know why I was charged $90! Of course, there was no explanation. I cannot emphasize enough how much I do not recommend this place - self-serve or full groom. Save yourself a headache and possibly injury to your pet and go someplace else!

Dogs are kept in empty kennels with no toys or beds. They get one thin blanket for the night. Tried to give them more but was told not to "waste" resources. One dog was whimpering and barking from boredom and loneliness, and I was trained to scream at him and spray him with water to silence him. That's the solution for any barking and whimpering, just angrily scream and spray. The "small dog park" they advertise has nothing in it whatsoever; dogs that can't play in the main park just get shunted between empty kennels to a slightly bigger empty space, are ignored except for yelling, and then put back into the kennels after fifteen minutes. They sleep overnight in those kennels, left by themselves. Terrible place.

Not so much on the second visit though... talk about feeling judged. Silence, no eye contact, from both people who were there. More on the first person I met: They were pleasant and seemed to take on my dog's behavior as trainable opportunities. She could teach the other two who work there a thing or two on soft skills. With the vibe of that place though, I wouldn't be surprised if she left. Again, they were left alone with the front desk and a room full of dogs. On to the next.

From her offerings, we chose private virtual sessions, the bimonthly puppy afterschool sessions and signed up for her membership which gives us great training videos and access to the monthly meet ups as well as the monthly q&a. I highly suggest the private virtual sessions, they were a game changer for us. Kelsey is an AMAZING positive reinforcement trainer. I would give her more than 5 stars, and think everyone could benefit from working with her - especially anyone with a puppy! She has a wealth of knowledge in dog behavior and focuses first and foremost in this area. Her training videos and 1:1 direction literally, and I mean literally, helped me so much during some really challenging moments with Maverick. She also took the time to give us tips and ideas between sessions. I was sure we had the bitiest puppy that ever lived..he was literally a little shark running mouth first! Let's just say that Kelsey went above and beyond to help us here. Setting Maverick up with the right foundation through Kelsey's guidance has made all the difference and he's thriving today. She did an amazing job with socialization and basic training. I am immensely thankful for the solid foundation because my puppy is very important - she is a service dog in training. I couldn't have asked for a better person to raise my puppy. Teaching my puppy new behaviors is a breeze because her foundation with Kelsey set her up to be attentive and patient. In the past two months since bringing my puppy home we have been working with Kelsey each week in group classes as well as private and one-on-one sessions. I will continue working with Kelsey throughout our training. She is above all an observant and knowledgeable trainer, and very pleasant to work with.
