My husband and I had a vacation scheduled on Catalina Island for my birthday in August. We were scheduled to fly into LAX at 3:00 pm. We scheduled Payless Airport Shuttle to be picked up at LAX at 3:30 to take us to Long Beach to get on the ferry at 5:15 to take us to Catalina Island. Our airline (at the last minute) delayed our flight 1 hour and 23 minutes which put us at LAX at 4:23 pm. They did get us to LAX at 4:00. We called Payless Airport Shuttle to let them know our delay and they said it would be a very tight time frame to get us to Long Beach in time to get to the ferry before it took off. Before we even landed in LAX we had a text from Payless Airport Shuttle saying they were waiting for us and let them know as soon as we saw our luggage to let them know. We grabbed our luggage and Dan our driver was waiting outside. He kept checking the maps to find the quickest way to get us to Long Beach and got us there 10 minutes early!! He made our whole vacation happen for us.!! If not for Dan we would have been stuck in Long Beach for the night missing the ferry and we already paid for the hotel in Catalina Island with no refund. Can't say enough about Payless Airport Shuttle and DAN is awesome!!!! On our return trip we didn't even have to call or text them to have them pick us up he showed up 5 minutes early and even remembered my name! Payless Airport Shuttle is a top notch class company. I looked around for a shuttle service that would provide roundtrip service for a group of travel agents arriving in LAX going to Long Beach to board the Carnival Miracle. The inbound service, LAX to Long Beach, went without a hitch but the return was nothing short of a nightmare. Arrangements had been made and confirmed, however the day of the transfer a few people cancelled thereby throwing the pickup numbers into a tailspin. Trying to contact Payless via phone and email didn't help, no response! I did realize they had other groups but if you handle groups weekly you should be prepared for interruptions and changes. Communication is key but there wasn't any. The drivers sent for pickup were nothing short of rude! We are the customer, if the number of people you have doesn't coincide with those standing in front of you shouldn't you call for an update? That didn't happen, confrontations with customers are never good. Plus being told initially by management that we had 2 dedicated drivers for the return to LAX, one going while the other was returning, wasn't true. From the start the numbers changed and the driver that decided to coordinate the pickup actually ruined everything. I think if the communication had of been better perhaps the process would of been better. Adding wood to the fire doesn't put the fire out! I can honestly say I would not use Payless again. read more

***UPDATE*** 1/6/18 - My family and I booked with them again and to no surprise received top notch service. Super fast, efficient, best prices and communicated with company via text the entire process from flight touchdown, to bag pickup to curb arrival - same when returning from our cruise to the Long Beach Airport - letting us know the driver status. We enjoy seeing the same driver each time, it's like visiting a longtime friend. Our family will ALWAY use Payless Airport Shuttle! Thank you for making us feel comfortable with your dependability! This transportation was not previously arranged and the driver just happened to be dropping another group off. We asked if he could give us a lift to the airport and he accepted and gave us a very fair and competitive price. We accepted and he quickly loaded our bags and we were on our way. The van was very new and didn't rattle like other shuttles we've taken before. The vans can also support up to 8+ people. He got us to the airport so quickly, we actually had time to relax before our flight. The driver was very personably and friendly. Payless Airport shuttle is the best transportation service that I have used. They picked me up at Long Beach Carnival cruise and dropped us off at Long Beach airport. Everything went smoothed. We called the shuttle company for the van and there they were waiting for us at the curb. That is what you call great shuttle service. We didn't even have to wait. The driver loaded our luggage and we went into the van. Let me tell you, this was the best airport shuttle van that we have used. It was new, and still had the new smell. The van was very clean, and the driver was very professional and friendly. We had a great conversation which made the ride seem short. Once we got to Long Beach Airport, the driver unloaded our luggage and greeted us a safe trip back home. My family and I traveled from Anchorage to Long Beach in July. We weren't sure which shuttle service to use but after reading the reviews on Payless and receiving such an excellent price quote we decided to give it a try. Kendra picked us up at Long Beach airport within minutes of our arrival and transported my family and I to Anaheim. She was very friendly and had lots of great information to share. Kendra also picked us up for our return trip to Long Beach. Payless airport shuttle was very understanding when I had to change the pick up time from 6:00 pm to 4:00 pm unexpectedly. My family and I really appreciated that and we would absolutely use Payless again and would also recommend it to anyone else. read more

We used Payless Airport Shuttle from the Long Beach Airport to Anaheim for six people. Kendra was punctual, friendly and knowledgeable about the area She provided a booster seat for the youngest child. We toured Long Beach and spent a couple of hours in the 4th Street shopping area with Kendra picking us up as reqested. Kendra also shuttled ten of us to Universal Studios and back on a different day, again providing a booster seat and a carseat. She also returned us to the airport from Anaheim at the end of our stay. She was always on time and phoned the day before to confirm our times and destination. This complete service was stress relieving and helped to make our vacation more enjoyable. read more

Recently used Payless for an early morning trip from home to LAX. They arrived on time, with a clean, well-maintained van (unlike the death-traps I've experienced with other outfits). The driver was courteous and professional. We decided to use them again when we came back on an early morning red-eye flight. We gave the info to the driver when she dropped us off, and sure enough, they were ready for us when we got back 2 weeks later. I checked around, and their prices are the best. Sure beats using the airport shuttles (and making four stops on the way to the airport and back). Definitely will use them again. read more

Very happy with Payless Airport Shuttle. We were flying in from Australia to LAX in February 2013 with 2 small children and wanted to be sure our kids would be safe on car trips so we were very happy that payless supplied 2 x car seats fully installed and ready for our arrival. Michelle was on-time on both bookings and in-fact was half an hour early for our return trip and waited for us to get organised before taking us to the airport. The van isn't the most luxurious mode of transport but was safe and great to spread out a bit after using taxis and being on an 11hr flight from Australia. read more

Wonderful airport shuttle - they had texted us just before our flight landed, anticipating our arrival, quick text response to let us know where to meet them, when it was a little more than 5 min they were texting us to let us know they were on their way, held up by traffic. We took Payless Shuttle from the Long Beach Airport to the cruise port in Long Beach! The lady that drove the van was so helpful in giving us information of places to see in Long Beach or eat at since we had a few hours before getting on the boat. When we came back a week later to catch the shuttle back to the airport it was the same lady and she again was so nice and helpful. Excellent service!! Our family vacation in California this year included a flight from Alabama to LAX with a few days in Disneyland then on to Long Beach for a Carnival Cruise.
