    Front seat of rental car A couple pieces of hair.

    MSP airport rental Charging me a $250 cleaning fee for a couple pieces of hair on the seat of the car. Renters beware. ( affiliated to Avis and Budget rental cars)

    Zero stars. One word: nightmare. On Sunday, Sep. 26th, I rented a car for a mere 6 hours from Payless for a one-way trip from MSP to DSM (dropped off the same time). The reservation was prepaid ($100.96 total). The car smelled like smoke and was not cleaned from previous user. I was ultimately charged $1654.44 (itemizations in image). I asked the agent when I picked up the vehicle what additional costs [if any] I should anticipate at drop off. He reassured me none, so long as I fill the vehicle up with gas. I dropped the car off on time and without issue per the instructions provided on the Payless website. There were zero agents at the location (as expected, as it was outside of normal operating hours), and when I called to ensure there were no further specifications for drop-off, I was sent through a series of electronic prompts to eventually reach a message that there were no agents available to take my call. On Oct. 2nd, I got an email receipt indicating that I was charged for a trip from MSP to Austin, TX... Upon calling Payless frantically (because who has an extra $1500 laying around?), I had to make three separate attempts over the course of an hour and being redirected from department to department. After a 30-minute conversation, I was informed that I was assigned a case number and if I didn't hear from a Payless associate within a week, to just call back and repeat the process again. Nothing is worth the agony of dealing with this place. Please avoid at all costs.

    As a wedding photographer I travel to many different states and rent cars on regular basis. Payless Minneapolis was by far fastest check out I have ever experienced. Usually rental companies take 10-15 minutes per client but when I had 6 people in front of me and it only took 6 minutes to serve them, so that's best I ever seen. They also upgraded my car from full size to premium SUV at no extra charge. Fee was $21 per day. Staff customer service is 3/5 (can be improved) when I was returning this car I was super late to my flight and I asked 2 different workers outside for help and both of them ignored me. But shuttle driver came to rescue and told me to repark my car at return area and told me to leave key inside the car! So huge thank you to Minneapolis shuttle driver (who was formal cop working in drug department). Because of him I made it on time. Very kind gentleman! Overall positive experience! 4 stars because workers outside walked away when I asked for help. If owner reads this TIP invest in employees so they have desire to help customers.

    Good thing there was no rain or snow predicted.

    Reduce wait time at counter. I spent over an hour in line on Friday May 16th. Ridiculous!

    Outsourced to budget/avis, so 10 people waiting on 2 tellers. Slow service and rude tellers. Never using them again!

Enterprise showed up late to the drop off location and with another car that was much smaller than I am able to drive due to my height and back issues. Jimmy acted like because they were busy that permitted him to rent out the vehicle I specifically called and requested. No option was provided for me to make payment to solidify my exact reservation. The branch manager Jake then chimes in on the conversation stating that no specific car make or model could be guaranteed which is completely understandable, but this was never disclosed to me to any capacity by Jimmy beforehand. Enterprise dropped the ball big time and had to call around to other locations to find me a comparable vehicle which took an additional hour plus out of my schedule/travel time of my day. I would think twice and reconsider before renting from this specific location. I am loyal to Enterprise for my rental needs, but not loyal to inconsistencies with business practices in what is conveyed to customers versus what actually is company policy.

I made the reservation weeks ago and selected "Manager's Selection" before I knew it would be snowing when I arrived in April. Upon arrival, they insisted on trying to upcharge me $60+ for an AWD vehicle even though their own website and others were suggesting SUV rentals would be less expensive than what I was originally charged. Most rental car companies would insist on upgrading me after selecting "Manager's Selection" when snow was newly on the forecast and AWD vehicles were on hand. The manager proceeded to argue with me by saying that I could book online but I'd have to wait hours for my new reservation to come through their system! She also consistently lied to me saying that the price online was actually more expensive than what I paid. I eventually booked online elsewhere and saved $100 but had to shuttle back to the airport. Will never rent here again.

Called 7/9 and spoke to Michael at Richfield hertz location who advised another location picked up the car on 7/8 and charged from 7/4-7/8 in error. He also said that I would get a credit of 55 showing a return on the 4th. Asked him if the $55 was coming off the actual charge or the pending charge and I wanted to confirm the total amount I should have been charged as should only be 20% for 10 days so about 84.48. He said he doesn't have the info on what I'll fully be charged only what I'll be credited and advised I had to call the hertz billing number. He was extremely rude during our transaction.

I requested a ride from home to Hertz for the rental pick up. The lady said they were short staffed but would work on a solution & I shared my timeline of availability. When we got to the rental car area, Budget/Avis was the only company with a line. There was ONE person working. They know how many rentals there are as we tell them our flight information upon booking. We waited 1.5 hours to get to the counter and receive our car rental information. That is absolutely ridiculous, frustrating and outrageous. We paid the higher price to book a Suburban "or similar" as it specifically said there was more room for luggage. We did not get a suburban or even something similar. It was a cramped Infinity with nowhere near enough room for our luggage. We had to put one on the backseat in between my two adult aged kids and another one on the console in the middle row between me and my mom. (See photos) Gosh I'm getting worked up thinking about our terrible situation. The car had a horrendous, ANNOYING loud sound the entire time we drove it. No expensive luxury car should sound like that. Not to mention, there was a lot of damage and scratches, etc to the car. I was sure to take video and pictures just in case after the fact, they try to say that we did it. NEVER AGAIN will I rent from Budget.
