Really disappointed with the lack of concern, customer service from this company. We've ordered from them in the past. But because of our recent experience with them we will not recommend them to anyone or do business with them again. We ordered a black leather couch from them, glass vanity set, office set, office chair. The company calls saying furniture is ready to be delivered 11/16, great. My husband was off work, they gave him a time frame for arrival however they showed up 2hrs past the quoted time, no phone call-we had to call them, no apology, nothing. There were large boxes which included pieces of our couch. To our surprise. We thought it would come to us already assembled. Wrong! Apparently the company is not responsible for putting any furniture together, if you want them to carry anything upstairs it's an additional fee of $20. Ridiculous. We had them keep everything downstairs, while we did all the work (putting the couch/other furniture together, carrying everything upstairs), still had to pay $79 for delivery fee. We were extremely upset when we found out pieces were missing from the couch, plus the $79 we lost in a matter of 10mins. We had to wait until the next day to call because they closed, had they delivered earlier we could have notified them sooner to put an order for the pieces. The next day I call,-11/17, talking in a pleasant tone, the girl becomes rude over the phone stating the missing pieces are under the velcro under the couch. Like I should have known. She said every customer calls mentioning that. Maybe you should tell customers that up front, along with couches being in a box. Communication here sucks. I mention everything was delivered the night prior, there were missing pieces, scratches, marks, one of the recliners is wobbly. I was upset because I knew we weren't going to get our pieces for our couch in time for Thanksgiving. She assured me they would be in before then. However they weren't. I told her how dissatisfied we were, how our time was wasted waiting for the deliveries, we had errands/things to do. We had company over, we were embarrassed. Really put a damper on our night, only seeing 1/2 of our couch. There was so much frustration, as a customer, we thought it was only fair to get our $79 back for all that we went through. I also emailed the company the same day of our experience, texted pictures on their business phone. Regarding that, there was no solution. I was told on 11/17: the pieces that are damaged just to put them back in the box and they would pick up on Monday 11/19. We received the new pieces that day, however there were still missing pieces. Really!? I had to cancel Thanksgiving at my house, make other arrangements. So they place another order. 11/22 Parts are still missing when they ordered it. Showed up around 6pm. 11/23 Payless called. Talked with them-placing another order in. Texted them also. 11/28 New shipment/New pieces. Everything is finally right. But look how long it took them. Overall: Wish I could give 0 stars. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way with certain businesses, this is one of them. Do not buy from this place such a rip off. When things are missing, damaged, etc it takes forever to have them replaced on a number of different occasions. Waste of your time, money. Definitely not worth it. They don't try to make things right, never had a follow up with the owner, or any sales employees. No one reached out regarding the $79 delivery fee or any of my other concerns. read more

My brother told me of a place he saw that had good pricing on box springs and other furniture. In comes Payless Furniture. I stopped in today and was happily surprised to find AWESOME pricing on all different kinds of furniture, friendly staff and quick turn around on my purchase. I left with not only two brand new twin box springs for my king bed but also a gorgeous leather accent chair AND a bench for my bedroom. All these for only $600 out of the foot! Plus I was in and out within 20 minutes. The other thing to note - most places do not allow same day delivery or pick up and most stores I've been to are out of stock and need six weeks to get items. Called them directly and they are extremely rude and do not have a recommendation on who could fix them. They use extremely cheap material! It took about 3 weeks to get my couch and I was very happy with it but the ottoman was not correct, it was the wrong size and wasn't exactly what I wanted. One month later after my review I get a call from Payless furniture a woman trying to resolve my issue I was hesitant on even responding because what could they do for me now ? I've already used the couches and the late response to my review was just pathetic. However I figured why not the woman seemed nice and eager to help our situation but that was not the case. I had sent her a email of what I received and I even put pictures together to show the material and color wasn't the same. However she e mailed me saying the couches are the same. I just couldn't believe the service only because me as a customer I am telling you they're different from what I remembered in the showroom the couches were so comfy and it's what made me so quick to purchase and what I received seemed cheaper and color is different. I had sent family members and friends even co workers pictures of the couches side by side and what they genuinely thought of the couches using their own words I have screenshots and they even see the material of mine Is cheaper and color is different I haven't even told them about my situation they even see it ! Anyways, so I received a call regarding an email I sent and I called back because I didn't answer. This "help" was completely pointless a waste of time on both ends. I had already gotten over this issue of having different couches so this just made me mad all over again. She persisted I should come down and test out the couches again she mentioned it a few times and it made me feel like she was telling me I was wrong like they don't know what I received because I am 100% certain the material and color are different. She told me because the boxes and order matches they couldn't do anything which I wasn't shocked because I feel the only reason they reached out to me was most likely to just "try" to prove me wrong. This however just made the issue worse. She just made me feel like I'm not sure of what I'm saying. like I'm the one receiving the wrong couches are you kidding me.If only they can test out the ones I got maybe they would agree. They don't seem to be helpful I will never come here again. Would never recommend this place I regret purchasing and spending my money here. While the selection of furniture is okay, I wasn't impressed with the level of service at this place... primarily from Erika, whom I believe is a manager. We walked in and found a table that we've been looking for for a while. Our normal furniture store was able to switch the bench for two chairs for the same price, so I asked if it was possible for them to do the same. She immediately got an attitude that made me just want to walk out... Unfortunately, my wife wasn't gonna let me live if I didn't buy her that table... So I went back a week later, sucked it up, and bought the damn table. I wouldn't recommend this place, but they had what we were looking for so at least they were helpful there. read more

I truly believe in supporting small businesses but this is one is one to stay FAR away from. Buyer beware. You will only get the run around here only to waste your time and money and get the wrong furniture with no real resolution. We purchased a sofa, then we were told it wasn't in stock, so we had to go back to the store for a refund. When we got there, we were told we could order this particular sofa. We waited weeks, rented a uhaul van to pickup when it came in stock, loaded up the boxes , got home, opened them and it was the wrong color! We didn't even spend the time to check to see if it was what we ordered style-wise. When we came back to the store to return it, we were told we can't get the sofa we wanted-they wouldn't even contact the distributor to see what happened!! They wouldn't compensate for the uhaul we had to rent to transport the wrong item. (We were told the best option was to transport it ourselves) We even discussed that we needed a dining room set too and the sales staff wouldn't even extend a future discount to get us to come back! The sentiment is: non apologetic, horrible customer service, poor communication and they're not interested in keeping customers. I'm eating uhaul fees and not happy about it. It's B.S. read more

Brought box home missing set of legs, then noticed scratch on new table called back says it was our fault for laying the couch down on something. I'm 58 years old and this young lady is going to tell me what I did as if she was there, I layed a blanket down. Waiting for 10am so I can go and cancel my order I financed it just to use. Don't sign contract until u inspect all furniture because they used that to say that you agreed everything was ok. Credit card company will not side with you. Made a purchase on a Sunday was told delivery is Thursday $60 (cash... which i also was not told until today) or someone can pick up the item free... I had someone pick up... The 100lb bed was full and complete not taken apart... Um what? Ok.... So I agreed to have them deliver. I was told by Emely it would be delivered Saturday (almost 1 week after purchase) and today is Monday and I haven't gotten a single phone call or email. Erika @ Payless Furniture on Jefferson in Murrieta provided me with the worst furniture buying experience in more than 40 years. I had called in advance seeking to determine whether or not they had a particular piece of furniture. She said they have no website and there is nothing she could email to me. I had to "Come in to the store". (That should have been a warning!) In the store it was clear from the very start that she was completely distracted even though there were 4 employees and no customers (second warning). I literally had to repeat everything several times. After 15 minutes in the store here's what I found out. An armoire (defined as a moveable wardrobe) no longer exists except for TV sets (entertainment center???). I can have one custom built but I have to order it first and no price can be quoted until I order it. When I continued to ask questions she began to ramble in an obvious tone of annoyance about how times have changed (I'm old???) and talk over me. When I said "I don't think you can help me", she replied "You're right", stood up and walked away. After reading the reviews on Yelp it seems that, with Payless Furniture, you are taking a risk. Depending on the sales person you get your service will either be good or completely suck. For me, I don't like gambles so I'll NEVER go to Payless again! read more

About 2 months ago I went in to buy a couch. Was told 7-10 days ..(No problem) On the 11th day, no call from the company. So I decided to find out if my couch was ready. Got the run around for a few days, then was told it takes 2 weeks instead of the original 7-10days. We are finally going on 4 weeks no couch so we called again because still no one kept us in the loop about our couch. And finally we were given some updates. The manufacturer had shut down due to Covid-19. Yet, no one called to let us know it would take longer to receive the item. We ended up speaking to the owner of the company and they told us that they'd get it to us in 10 days AFTER it has already been over a month. Our 10th day landed on a day they were closed so I left a voicemail and callback number but I still had to reach out the following business day because my call was not returned. When they answered I was told they received my message and I was irritated because no one called back. They ended up giving me news that the fabric i picked was coming from overseas and I needed to pick a new one. Not once did they apologized about the Delay and they failed to tell me this new information as soon as it was brought to their attention. Because now, I'd have to pick a new fabric and wait ANOTHER 7-10 days. We ended up calling the finance company and opted out of the contract. Customer service is terrible. I was more than ready to be accommodating to delays due to covid-19, had they communicated with me. But they never did. In the entirety of this all. I never received a phone call from them. I always had to call them. Also, I never received an apology for how long it was taking or that after 7 weeks of placing my order I'd now have to pick a new fabric. read more

Never go into this store!! The person in charge Tom not only ripped me off but then threatened me when I attempted to get my money back. Shortly after purchasing a bed, media cabinet and nightstand made by Coaster my husband and I realized our room needed more furniture so we put an additional dresser and nightstand on lay away. Unfortunately during the lay away time we realized that the furniture was NOT good quality. I called to cancel the lay away (not something normally allowed) but was told given the circumstances I could. I then went in to take care of getting my deposit returned only to see that new people had taken the store over. My paperwork was "lost" and no one could help me. I left my number and information. Fortunately I had my receipt. I never received a call back. I returned to the store where Tom informed me that he was not going to honor my deposit. I asked if he was the owner...he said no he was the manager. When I then asked for the owner's information he then changed his story and claimed to be a corporation. I asked for that information, he changed once again and said he was the owner and told me I needed to leave. I asked for my receipts and a business card and he told me no he would not give me one. I said for $250 I should at least get a business card he refused and threatened to physically remove me from his store. I reminded him that he was not to touch me or I would call the police. I took my paperwork from his hand and left. No money, no store credit, no furniture. Do NOT go there. The man is a thief and a liar. read more

Buyers beware!! The furniture may look nice and the price may be great at first - just wait a few months. I purchased a foe-leather click futon in February. Just a few weeks ago, I noticed majority of the seat seams were ripping apart - obviously the fabric that was used was cheap and the wrong thread was used to sew the seams together. Since the store would not consider returning; they contacted the manufacturer (Poundex) whom considered this "normal" wear and tear. Come on people. Will not ever shop here again. read more

She introduced herself and offered her assistance in helping us find whatever we needed. She wasn't pushy like most sales people but did help us out whenever we had questions or couldn't find what we wanted. There was a great selection to choose from and we felt like the staff was genuinely out to help us buy what we needed not what they could shove our way for a sale. Do NOT order furniture from here. We were specifically looking for a sofa and two love seats; they only had a sofa+love seat combo but let us know we could order through them and it would take 6-8 weeks. We bought the floor model and ordered the second love seat. 8 weeks went by with no word from the company. At the 9th week, we called and they gave us the run around and said it was the supplier but they'll let us know in a couple days because "the supplier wasn't answering or returning calls". Another week goes by, and we call them. Same answer but now it's due to COVID. We understand hard times due to the pandemic and asked them to just keep us informed. NOTHING. They never kept us informed, we had to keep chasing them down and kept getting the run around. Fast forward to now, Oct (4 months later), the couch is being discontinued and they can't get it for us. The guy on the phone said we could return the sofa+love seat combo and we'd get a FULL refund since they sold something that wasn't available and we purchased a SET. We called back and the lady changed her story and now we CANT do a full refund, only a refund for the item we never got. My husband explained we wanted a SET OF THREE and this wouldn't work for us. She wouldn't budge. This is HORRIBLE customer service. Essentially they sold us a set they knew could not be fulfilled, gave us the run around until we were well past the return time frame, and now are telling us we are shit out of luck and can't do anything about it. DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible and dishonest. And really not even THAT cheap in comparison to other stores in the area. Spent the entire morning searching through what seemed like every single furniture store in the Murrieta area. Just happened to drive by PayLess Furniture & decided to stop in as we still hadn't found a coffee table we liked. We instantly found the one and the best part: the price! Everything at PayLess Furniture was priced as things should be. Manny and the other staff were very friendly! If you want to haggle the price, and be hunted by sales staff, then PayLess is not for you. They let you browse around without being annoying like other chain stores (i.e. Ashley Furniture).
