What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. The guy at the repair shop was super nice and attentive to my observations. The end result was excellent - all the issues were fixed (proxy and computer speed) and my PC is as it should be - fast and efficient and it has been 3 months of excellent performance. I was told I would receive a call with an update the day after I brought it in. These guys had my PC for five days with no communication whatsoever. I can't get ahold of anyone over the phone, so I go in physically and ask what's up. They had misplaced my information and hadn't started working on the PC. Fine. I show them my info and leave them to it. Four more days pass. No call, no email. I go in again. What's up guys? They've eliminated one possible source of the problem, no dice. They act busy, tell me they'll call me with an update soon. For real this time, I guess. Two more days. I call them. Turns out they have been stuck and need my bitlocker password now, I'm happy to provide it and they tell me to wait for an email from them and then reply to it with the key. No problem. I wait for three hours before going over and hand-delivering it to them. They're working on eliminating a second possible source of the issue, and it's looking promising. Excellent. Before they close that evening I go in to see if it's solved, and I'm told that the yep, it's a faulty graphics card: they'd plugged in a different one and had no freezing issues. Great! All I need to do is take the PC home, get a new card, and we're good. I pay them $35 and I'm on my way. Though as I'm watching them go to unhook their test card, I notice that their test monitor definitely looks frozen. But they're the experts. Get home. Before I drop $800 on a new card, my spidey sense tingles, and I remember I do have an old graphics card on hand. Put it in my machine, just to see. Still freezes. So nearly two weeks went by between when I brought them my PC and when they incorrectly told me what the issue was. They are probably great if you don't know how to change your facebook password, but I would absolutely not take your stuff to them if you have anything more serious than that. Unless you like babysitting grown men, in which case you can probably still find a better way to get your fix.

BEWARE!!! I am…read morewriting this review on behalf of my 78yr old mother. She reached out to Brandon Jefferies at PC Friend Mobile Computer Service because she was having problems with her computer. She was experiencing very slow run times with Windows. Brandon was very pleasant and said he would charge her $200 and he would be over to pick up her computer and she would have it back that evening. He called her later in the day to let her know that he reinstalled Windows 11 Home but he still didn't like how it was running so he said he had to replace the hard drive and asked if he could bring her computer back in the morning and she said yes. Less than 24hrs later she started having issues again. She called him and told him Windows wasn't working and that nothing was updating and that he also broke off a piece to the housing. He got extremely rude and raised his voice with her repeating "I can't believe you're saying this to me" with no explanation or solution as to what was happening. The only thing he offered was to come fix the broken piece on the housing but nothing else. He was not the same person that was happy to take her money. Not knowing what to do, she called another tech that she had used before to come out and take a look and right away he found the problem. Brandon installed Windows 11 Pro and NOT Windows 11 Home like he said, therefore in order for her to use Windows, she would have to pay $199 to activate it.. WTF!! The new tech spent hours at my mom's house uninstalling the wrong Windows and reinstalling the correct version and wouldn't you know she had a working computer again!! The downside was my mom had to spend more money to fix what Brandon did (the tech gave her a deal because he felt bad that she got ripped off). The tech wrote up a letter explaining what he found wrong with the work previously done and what he did to correct everything, even fixing the broken piece on the housing. He forwarded me the letter and on 08/12/25 I took it upon myself to send a text message to Brandon that included the letter. I basically summarized the letter and appealed to him as a human being and asked that she be partially refunded since a big part of the service he was supposed to complete was not done correctly. He read the text almost immediately but never responded. I am attaching the text I sent to him so you can see that I was polite even though I was upset. I am attaching the letter that the second tech (also named Brandon) wrote to validate that Brandon at PC Friend did not install the correct version of Windows so she paid him $200 for a $50 service. It's a shame that there are people like this that have no problem taking advantage of a senior citizen with limited income. All he had to do was refund the money other than the charge for the hard drive install but instead he gave her a hard time for questioning the work that he was supposed to do. I hope this review helps at least one person to not make the mistake of giving their business to this guy. After seeing other reviews, this guy clearly has no character, is dishonest and has no problem ripping people off. Karma is a bitch!!

The hard drive was failing and an IT tech recommended having it "imaged," which would result in an exact duplicate that would not require any software reauthentication. He also recommended Tech Care as the folks to do it. They initially tried doing an automatic imaging, which didn't take, so they attempted to manually image it and were successful. The computer now has a more reliable SSD drive (no moving parts) and it indeed works exactly as it used to (only faster). Eddie informed me that the old drive had maybe one month left before it completely failed. LIFE SAVERS!!! Eddie, Abed, Josh and everyone else I spoke to are top-notch guys, and the price to repair was eminently reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
