    Beer on tap

Stopped by Twist to check out their wine and beer selection. Got a flight of 4 wines, and it came with a complimentary 5th glass for $10! Several were very good, my wife wound up ordering a glass after finishing the flight. Oh, and we bought a bottle of wine back with us. I really enjoyed their beer selection as well, the Cream Ale was extremely tasty! Nice outdoor patio let us enjoy the beverages with no worries. If you are in Pacific City and enjoy wine and beer, well worth the stop. The also offer food items but we did not order them.

Cute little spot on the coast and great owners. They were kind and passionate about their wines. Great beer selection too!

He's also happy enough if you want to just have a pint or play some Atari.....Atari?? Yep, Atari....... Oh, and they usually have Pliny the Elder on tap. Something about a connection to a 12th cousin, twice removed, who once washed the car windows of the creator of Pliny....or something. We tasted most of their wines (um, free tastings!!), consumed some pints, and bought some bottles. But more than that, we played an impromptu round of 80's music trivia with 6 or 8 new friends and laughed a lot in the coolest little wine/beer shop we've ever been in. Great job, Shawn!!!

Decided it was a beer day and vowed to buy some wine to take home for later. Simply stated, these guys rock. Have stopped in here a few times after adventures at the Pelican. Very cool, very down to earth. We showed up in our bike clothes( this is one relaxed tasting room) and were welcomed by Shawn, one of the owners. He had some cool music groovin', some old vinyls alongside the bar, and with my Pliny in hand, I wanted to spend the rest of the day here chatting up the locals. If I lived in town, you'd probably find me here more often than the Pelican. You can always find fresh Russian River beers on tap and for sale in bottles here. Ask me how I know? Why don't you ask them? :) The wine is really well priced, lots of Cabs and Syrahs, (try the Reversal Syrah!) and as they said on their menu, good for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night drinking.... We noticed Chenin, Shawn's wife wasn't around that day and found she was at the PSU Farmer's market where they attend all summer. Shawn also told me you can find them Thursday evenings at another Farmer's market in the Pearl in Portland. Sweet. As much as I love coming to Pacific City, it's also nice to know we can find their wine in Portland in the summertime since they don't sell it retail in stores. An hour later, (maybe two?) we left smiling with two bottles of wine, the Basket Case Syrah and a red table wine in hand, and two empty pint glasses of Pliny on the bar.

It's a small, cave-like space that may house a half a dozen people. There are no stools, just a tasting menu, a bar in a cave that's filled with dollar bills hanging from the ceiling and off the walls. I wasn't impressed with the wine because a lot of it was sweet fruit wine, which is not my thing. I did buy a bottle, which was overpriced, but this wasn't a high-pressure spiel and only a $10.00 tasting fee per person, which was deducted from the wine purchase. The tasting lasted 15-minutes. Fun, quick and easy!

The winery is inside a small cave with so many dollar bills hanging from the walls and the ceiling. You can actually hang your own dollar bill on the ceiling/wall and decorate it with sharpies that they have on the counter. We really don't carry any cash these days so we didn't have anything to hang on their ceiling or the walls lol. The nice gentleman behind the counter showed us what kinds of wines they had available upon our entry. He explained to us that if we did at least three different tastings, then we would be able to buy a wine bottle for $10 off, in which we agreed upon. We tried the following wines - Chardonnay, peach, pear, and apple jack. My absolute favorites were the Chardonnay and the apple jack, while my boyfriend enjoyed the peach and the pear. The apple jack was kind of like apple juice but with alcohol mixed in. I loved the apple jack so much that we decided to buy a bottle of it. We were told that Depoe Bay Winery is able to ship their wines to Las Vegas, where we're visiting from, and the best part is that there's no sales tax involved when we buy from them when we get back home! Amazing! This is definitely something I'm looking forward to. Will highly recommend this winery to everyone visiting the Depoe Bay area. Great customer service and absolutely great tasting wine.

We had never heard about this winery nor did we plan…read moreto visit this space while in the Willamette Valley; but fortunately, we randomly found out about it and were so glad to check it out on a Sunday afternoon. There are so many different wineries around the Willamette Valley, so it's difficult to choose where to go. And of course, the most popular ones will likely be booked up. But my partner found Coeur de Terre and made a reservation for us to visit this winery in the late afternoon, which ended up being a delightful experience. The vineyard is located far from the city, up on a hill, surrounded by other vineyards and orchards. Just the setting itself is worth visiting. The winery with its own vineyard is spacious, with a large, open building that's open for the public. However, where you want to sit is outside on the patio, which overlooks the hills and vineyard. We had a reservation for 4PM on a Sunday, which was the last hour before closing. We tried six different wines: a chardonnay, pinot gris, rose, syrah and two pinot noirs. Now, we came to Oregon wine country because we wanted to explore pinot noirs, which is king in this part of the country. And I can say that the pinot noirs at Coeur de Terre were solid. I normally would not choose a pinot noir, but Coeur de Terre made me a believer. They grow all of their grapes here at the vineyard, and what I liked most about the pinot noirs is that they were more robust than other pinot noirs I've had. I like my reds more bold and heavy, and these pinot noirs were heavier. We had a wonderful experience here, exploring the pinot noirs and taking in the views and setting. The employee who helped us out was friendly, too. I recommend visiting if you're in the area. Tasting is $25 per person, and is waived with a $75 bottle purchase per person.

They have animals on the property and we purchased some feed for them inside the shop. It's only $1 a bag so we bought lots and headed out to meet them. I loved spending time with the animals but they were not at all interested in the feed. We happened to be eating a sandwich and they were much more interested in that. They have a wide range of animals, from sheep to alpacas and donkeys and ducks and chickens and even peacocks. There's lots to see. That said, I can't really give them five stars because like a lot of the reviews mention, the state of some of the animals is concerning. As much as I enjoyed interacting with them, there were things about their care and surroundings that made me feel really sad. Something I did really appreciate though is that this location allows you to camp overnight in your RV or van for free. This is a huge perk when you're traveling through the area. Because we got here late in the afternoon. We did end up staying the night, but if you decide to take advantage of that be prepared for the bugs. There were so many bugs. There is plenty to see and do here and this place definitely has a lot going for it. If you're road tripping this is a good place to stop.
