Oh, shoot, I'm glad this local business just appeared on my suggestions!! The gentlemen who run this operation were super! The location is pretty great--in the middle of Van Nuys, but just out of the way from the riff-raft (and don't start yapping about me judging----I'M THE RIFF RAFF ALREADY!---(only from time to time). Anyhow, hear guys didn't know anything about me when I approached when with a of problem--they knew nothing of my experience. Plus, I was acting strangely on purpose. I can't maintain normality when doing things as normal as bringing a laptop in for repair....I just realized all of this when I just typed it...so thank you, whomever is reading this, you've been a part of my self-realization just now. Anyhow, they had opportunities to take advantage of--I sat back and observed--they actually held pretty high homer and honesty. I'm really happy that I met the two of them. They absolutely did NOT try to take advantage of my presumed ignorance when they could have bumped me by five bucks and fifteen bucks more than a few times. That's something. Eman is THE man. Like previous reviewer, I first found Eman on a holiday weekend -- he returned my call on the Sunday before Memorial Day, told me to bring it in on the Monday holiday, and I had my notebook back in working order the same day. In two subsequent visits he has fixed and maintained my elderly Vostro in great condition. His PCTech outfit is always quick, efficient and amazingly reasonable. Don't like to argue with other reviewers, but Janelle S, I think you're way out of line here. You expected to go to a professional establishment and get your problem fixed for free? If you're so "experienced in computer repair," why not do it yourself? And if a stranger asked you to repair their computer, would you really do it for free? There's a sign on the wall at PCTech that clearly explains a minimum $35 dollar charge for diagnosis, deductible from any actual repairs. Standard practice, and never an issue for me because Eman has always diagnosed and repaired my computer swiftly and inexpensively. So please, disregard the diss from Janelle S. Eman and PCTech offer the best and least expensive computer repair I've found in the Sherman Oaks / Van Nuys area. read more

My HP computer had the fatal "blue screen of death." The diagnostic code I was able to obtain by using my own limited computer skills was: "biohd-8." The operating system was gone. I immediately called HP Support and was told exactly this by the tech: "Very sorry, but your hard-drive is gone and your files and data are lost forever. You can go out and purchase a new hard-drive and we will guide you along as you load up Windows 7 into the new drive." I said "Thanks," and immediately went on-line to find a tech. PC Tech Computers had the highest customer reviews in my area, so I figured, what the heck. PLEASE believe the positive reviews! Eman explained the problem with my hard-drive, told me what he would attempt to do and gave me a very fair estimate of costs. In less than three hours, he called me back with the good news that he had retrieved ALL of the data and files and music from my broken hard-drive and placed them on a new drive. When my computer crashed, I called a few places that wanted to charge me $99 just to diagnose my computer. When I called Pc Tech Computer Repair Center, the diagnosing fee was much lower and I was told it would go toward the repair fee. I took my computer to Pc Tech Computer Repair Center, and the owner, Eman, was able to diagnose it in one hour. He was honest, caring, and professional and took the time to explain to me what the problem was. My computer was fixed the very next day. He saved my information, installed a new windows version, cleaned my computer, and installed new updates and a new anti-virus program for a small cost (much lower than the other places wanted to charge me). Best of all, my computer is running much better and faster than it did before it crashed. I highly recomment Pc Tech Computer Repair Center for all your computer needs. Hey so i was searching around in van nuys and sherman oaks to find a computer repair store. I had recently broken my samsung ev laptop (which costed like 2000$ by the way). Then i went to a couple computer repair stores and ended up eventually finding and calling PC Tech. They were really nice people and a found a great price even for a major repair. I then went there to give in my laptop and meet the staff. They were very kind and professional about the whole thing which reassured me. They ended up fixing the whole thing that day so i didnt have to skip work and grab it!. There was some reallyimportant files i had stored up but they were luckily able to recover it. After i got it back it worked in better condition than i got it, and it was a lot faster as well. I highly recommend PC Tech for their high quality assistance. Hope this helps guys :). read more

On four occasions I've done business with Eman at PC Tech. I found him extremely knowledgeable and competent and his prices are quite reasonable. But most important to me--he's honest! When he quotes you a price (for a known problem) he stands by it! This time, I was having a motherboard issue with my laptop and he not only fixed the problem but he gave me credit based on work he'd done previously on that particular laptop. In my dealings with him he has always provided me with better service than I expected. I live in the area and I prefer to support the shops in my neighborhood when they do a good job. Eman does a good job and deserves that support. If you live fairly close to PC Tech I strongly suggest that you give Eman a chance at your business. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I tried to create more space in my PC, so I deleted one programme, which I didn't recognize. After deleting it, all my photos and videos were gone. I rushed to Best Buy Geek Squad. They literally said that all files are gone and impossible to restore. I rushed to 3 more places where they all said that they can't help me and all my files are gone forever. Then I stumbled across PCTECH COMPUTER REPAIR. I rushed there. The owner opened my computer and instantly said that it was too full, so computer wasn't able to breath and that is why it was unable to communicate with the Cloud and sync the files. They are always very patients by taking the time to understand the problem in order to offer the best possible resolution. I had a terrible experience at PCTech Computer Repair when I took my MacBook Pro in for a screen replacement. After the repair, I was hopeful, but shortly after getting it back (and barely using it), the screen started to fail again. When I reached out for assistance, the owner shifted the blame to supposed "physical damage," which is completely untrue. The customer service was not only unhelpful but also quite rude. It felt like they were using shady tactics to avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes. I found PC repair through yelp and read about all the rave. Mr. Eman and Farzad did a job well done!!!! They changed my PC system around like a 180 degree. In-turn it works at my specifications. This is a great place to have your computer fixed. The guys that work here are friendly and helpful and they spend as much time with you as you need. PC Tech not only repaired my computer quickly and for a reasonable price but gave me pointers on how to properly back up and how to avoid this issue in the future. The service was quick, the service was for my desk top computer it was running slow. I took it in and the attendant had great customer service a nice guy. He said it was $95 and it would take a day or so. It tool 6 hours and the cleaning and reboot of the OS is holding so I rate this place high. Plus the diagnostic only cost 35 not 90 and the work was very good, Id recomend PC repair. read more

Windows crashed on my desktop computer. They came and picked it up, backed up all my files, cleaned the disk area so it was completely empty.
