We have had performance issues with 3 machines, purchased a laptop from there at a very fair price, and most recently took advantage of remote support service and cloud backup service. The remote support service is refreshing because I actually know the person that is doing things to my machine, unlike the commercial technical support help lines. An added bonus that comes with the cloud backup service is the ability to share and sync files across all of my computers and phones (really cool). I have called PC Werks several times with issues about my computer. Because I live 100 miles away, they remote into my computer and fix the issue. Most recently I was very concerned about the expiration of Windows XP and what it would cost me to change over the operating system, programs, scanners and printers. They told me that I would not have to do that and what to do to protect myself from any potential problems with the expiration and people trying to hack into the system without security patches. Wow did they save me a lot of money and make me happy!!!! Whenever they have remoted into my computer to fix an issue they are fast and efficent (more so that what I trust myself to hopefully do listening to them talk me thru it) and their charges are more then fair. Years ago, PC Werks was highly recommended by friends and members of our Church, so I called them when my computer broke down. I was so concerned about lost data and confidentiality, but they are professional, helpful and honest. I was so thankful that they fixed my computer and recovered all my data. Last Tuesday, my husband's laptop was blank and would not turn on, we considered purchasing a new laptop, but decided to give PC Werks a call before purchasing a new one. I took my deskstop to a local PC company for repairs and a recovery; however, I was informed that they replaced the hard drive but all the data for a recovery was gone. With disappointment, I took my defective hard drive to PC Werks and they were able to extract over 70% of my data where I kept years of letters, family pictures and other important data. Truly in disbelief that my data was retrieved and then purchased for a small fee a connecting device, I saw my important files listed in the external drive. Robert was great and provided with instructions on how to obtain them again in lieu of installing the hard drive. From now on, any problems with my computers, PC Werks has me sold. GREAT people to do business with! I first went there because I like and want to support small local businesses. That was probably 4 years ago. Immediately I understood I was going to trust their exceptional competence for repairing our computers. But the best part is they are NICE too. Robert will always try to accommodate/recommend a solution according to what would be beneficial for us first, not the most profitable for them. He has even recommended we go to Microcenter on occasion! We would not take our equipment for repair anywhere else! We are happy with all the used computers we have purchased from them also. These guys helped me out when I was in a real crunch to get my PC up and running. He figured out the problem (video card), helped me find one online (checking the inventory of a nearby store and making suggestions), and when I ran across town to snag it, he cleaned up my PC tower and rearranged some of my cables and cords to make it all neater and cleaner in there. Then, he made sure everything else was updated and ready to go, got new drivers to go with my new video card, and had me sit there and play a match of my favorite, most graphics-intensive, PC game (to make sure it was all working). Absolutely stellar!! I couldn't get any audio into my machine, but the speakers worked fine. Mic was dead, speakers fine, I was perplexed as all the settings looked fine and the headset worked just dandy on my laptop. I took it in, and not only did they recable the mess of a setup I had for absolutely no extra cost, they charged me a reduced rate after finding out the latest windows update had muted the microphone to all devices! Awesome experience. When you're in a situation where you can easily be taken advantage of, it's good to meet good honest people. The owner (I believe) told me what the problem was, the estimated cost and how long it would take to fix it. It was a minor issue. I took my laptop to PC Werks because it was running very slowly and asked if they could help speed it up. While I waited, they did some work checking for viruses, spyware or other potential issues. Within about 1/2 an hour, they gave me my laptop back and it was running much faster. If you have computer issues, I would highly recommend letting PC Werks take care of them. read more
